  1. Howe might very well be a great appointment but I'm a little surprised to see you supporting it.I may be wrong but I thought last summer you were against the idea of a young manager with potential (Tisdale) was discussed at the time. Why do you see Howe as a better or safer option now ?
  2. Hardly a "wow" factor.
  3. I wondered the same. Out of interest who from ML's family attends ? I thought they are more likely to watch from a box than the full glare of the directors seats .Be interested to know who is keeping a watchful eye on developments here.
  4. Adams might have been a contender 10 years ago, although I read Lowe did not even interview him.He was not selected ten years ago,and has done bugger all of any note in the past decade to make him a more suitable candidate now. Ivan Golac has as much chance as Adams.None. Surprised Dennis can trot out such garbage.
  5. Agree with most of what you have written. Photographers ban is ludicrous.I read Celtic had also tried this but did a 'U'turn fairly rapidly. We on the other hand allow local rags like The Swindon Advertiser and Plymouth rag to get free publicity by taking the p!ss.This ranks alongside the original statue episode as an own-goal in humiliation. As for taking counsel, the problem is that there is no adviser close enough,or boardroom in place to discuss measures.
  6. What exactly has Leslie THeolonius Reed achieved in the game? Parodied as: Source:Wikipedia I wonder what SCW or Simon Clifford might have to add.Perhaps Cortese should give them a bell.Probably every bit as useful as Reed.
  7. I don't dispute AC did a good job at Charlton for which he is rightly credited. But is that something he is likely to repeat a decade later, just as Burley did not repeat his success elsewhere. As for West Ham...AC got off to a flyer beating ManU at home but then took it to the last game to save them. Did they ever get so close to the drop under Zola?
  8. He has two promotions to his name,no more than Adkins or Tisdale. I accept that AC did it at a higher level and maintained Charlton in the top flight for a number of years on a small budget. That is admirable and a commendable achievement. In retrospect though he did build the club for a number of years, so as a "name" he will not have the same immediate impact as MON. I have never taken to Cubishley as I remember our "great escape season" in which Dave Jones made frequent references to the fact that 'Alan is a personal friend' and did not really want him to be relegated.Yet that c^nt still made disparaging remarks about us going into the final game. I have never undrstood how it was his cohort in joint management at Charlton- Steve Gritt- was conveniently jettisoned for Curbishley to take sole command, and Gritt seemingly never credited for his part in the rebirth of Charlton. At West Ham - "his club" let us not forget- he was worse than AP or Zola. Curbishley was once a young prospect.I don't want us to appoint another manager whose best days are behind them.
  9. WGS it might be then.Perhaps residing in YORKshire, but whose home is down here.
  10. I would be devastated if we appointed that slimey creep as manager.Did a worse job at West Ham than either Pardew or Zola. Even Paul Hart would be more palatable.
  11. Lucy Pinder as manager - that would be a "wow" factor.
  12. may someone please fill me in?
  13. One of my worst fears. Turdishley is like a shorter version of Pardew but without the personality. As I said on a previous post last night he is another Burley - did a good job once but probably won't repeat it again.
  14. Look better don't they ?
  15. Cortese should analyse scores elsewhere in L1 today: Exeter 1 Charlton 0 Huddersfield 2 Bournemouth 2 Assuming of course MON is not lined up,and why not ? He'd love the challenge.
  16. Agree that we need some divine intervention to assist us after the shambles today.
  17. Time to go,Mr Lowe.
  18. Massive improvement on Wilkins though.
  19. Guly failed to hit the target. Inspired signing by someone. But who?
  20. Doubt he'll be here in a week.
  21. Nice one Mr C^ntese. Back to the drawing board.
  22. Or indeed anywhere at all for that matter ?
  23. Of course if we do appoint O'Driscoll it will seem bizarre typing SOD to be an inoffensive term. And if we appoint Zola, may I be the first to chant Zod off Zola if we are not ten points clear by the new year ?
  24. Are you still trapped in a 2004 timewarp?
