  1. I don't think we will get a loan, it sounded to me like he was saying we want to take our time and get the right player in January, not 'any old player for the sake of it' on loan. Could be wrong. Either way, in Nigel we trust!!!!!!!!!! Always like his Saints Player interviews. He sounds happy, cheerful and enthusiastic. Sounds like he gets on well with NC too...
  2. Probably on Adkins January HCDAJFU list
  3. That I suspect will be the story of his season, a player who can delight, and frustrate, in equal measure. Agree we are lucky to have him in the squad (almost said "building"), but not sure how reliable over the course of a season he will be.
  4. Possibly wasn't his choice to be here either judging by his performances and attitude.
  5. Really ? Do you think Guly would have taken that chance in his stride to score in the first half ? And don't you think Barnard might have been a little more reliable with that one on one Guly had near the end? Yes,Guly gives us an option and is skilfull, but another Barnard he most certainly isn't.
  6. Including Paul Gilchrist,Bobby Stokes,Bally and Mick Channon ?
  7. A theme for another thread perhaps ?
  8. Absolutely spot on.
  9. Jim Steele Peter Osgood Hugh Fisher
  10. Liebherr- should be number one
  11. 10. Ali Dia (Not for the right reasons)
  12. Lets just hope we play like this in our future games! Roll on Brighton!!!
  13. Had a dream we lost 3-1 Oh dear
  14. I wonder how much/ if we will see him involved today.
  15. As with Mark Hughes, only interested in a payday whilst living off of past glories elsewhere. Dean Richards took some abuse after leaving as well.
  16. He'd be the best striker at the club,if he didn't spend so much time in the treatment room.
  17. 148. John McGrath who begat The Alehouse.
  18. If you hear his name at a seance then its probably from my Dad.
  19. 146. The Dell crowd, and the abuse it could dish out to opponents (Wodney Marsh and Mike Sumerbee especially) 147. The 'Docker's enclosure', and bar under the East Stand (where much of the abuse could come from).
  20. 144. Hughie Fisher's last minute - injury time - equaliser in January 1976. Little did we know. 145. Hugh Fisher putting George Best in his pocket when the Fulham circus came to The Dell in October 1976. (Also in memory of my late father who always rated Hughie Fisher).
  21. 142 Jimmy Gabriel being shown he is being sent off, whilst being carried off on a strecher at Elland Road (Allan Clarke I believe was still a crumpled mess on the deck!) and in the true spirit of The Alehouse 143. Ruddock running the length of The Dell to headbutt an opponent
  22. "Dobber". A classic line from Steptoe&Son. After one of their rows the old man says to Harold "...ahhh, you must be as thick as a Donkey's dobber..."
  23. I bet Swindon said that when they signed Charlie Austin- after all, he was only from non league.
  24. We have to win this, as I am taking a load of mates down from Cheltenham. I don't reckon Adkins will change much if I'm honest, possibly Seaborne in for Radhi.
  25. Adkins didn't actually say that, but it is what it sounds like an the impression I got.
