I remember Henderson playing for Reading in the early 1970's. He has been a longstanding servant to the club, given steady service and survived many a cull.He is also unique in football,as probably the only worthwhile legacy left at a club by Ian Branfoot. I hope the parting was mutual, certainly amicable, and wish him well.

Dixon and Speedie are better and will score more goals. We will walk this season's relegation battle.

4-0 down. On the pitch....stop the match.

Can't he do a Ted Bates ice sculpture ffs, whats the matter with the man ? (Monday conspiracy alert: Lambert looking relaxed and happy in photo - obviously just received text from his agent about move to Barcelona or similar...)
-
Forest forum suggested this has been noticeably reduced.

Of those mentioned Danns is more of a 'proven' mf player, whilst Lines is still in the 'potential' category. If given as an option in mf then Stock might get my vote. Upfront,I'm indifferent to Jackson, and possibly even underwhelmed by Tyson.Reading the Forest forum last might there seemed a number of comments about him having lost his pace, often considered his main attribute, and as Pilchards mentions there is a question over his attitude. The old head, Oakley fits the bill after his promotion successes at Derby and Leicester.Savage probably carries too much 'history' and Hendrie has not proven his value at offering experience whilst out on loan.Be happy to be proved wrong though.

Thought I had read somewhere that he had been injured for part of the season. If not, then being behind the likes of McGoldrick etc does not bode well.

Did he not sign for Palace ?

As I understood it, out of contract and free to discuss moving on. Early suggestion of "wanting to stay" , but perhaps not so keen to commit in reality.

No its just a bog standard Umbro template, very similar to WBA's new away kit except for a red trim, obviously a lot of thought went into it.
-
My thoughts exactly.IF he wants to sign elsewhere he will, but we have no means of using this as a bargaining tool with another club.

Body language looks more "christ,I'm knackered..." to me more than anything else.

Agree, but then that would be a different shirt altogether.
-
I've often wondered about the possibility of shirt sales without a sponsors name on it. Apart from kids who'd say it is not a real replica without the name on it,most adults would probably find the shirt more appealing.Doubt the club could do it as many of the sponsors probably consider the "walking billboards" as an important part of the contract.

I remember place that when it was just a pub.

Another similar kit this season - Reading away : It looks as if black and red is the new yellow and blue for away strips now.

Just read the opening post on that thread and fair play to the bloke who described the selling off of their best players as a "deforestation process". Made I laugh...

Struck me as something the editors of Viz in Newcastle might have dreamt up. A former international footballer, with drink and drug problems, and occasional wifebeating tendencies ,who falls on hard times, but is secretly a peace envoy diffusing world trouble spots..."eeh man, jus' stoppin off fa' me tabs, then I'm gannin off tee sort the Arabs and Israelis oot..... they'll be callin it The Gazza strip by time I'm back in Newcassell..."
-
Gazza: "he's a gentleman..", "a lovely bloke..."," a good lad...", Not since someone said of Fred West that he was "an alright bloke..." have I read or heard such an inapproriate character reference ! ("I've survived a car crash at 90mph,I'm sure I can survive a bullet !!...) Joking aside,it is sad what Gazza has become listening to that interview.Probably a well intentioned but completely ill thought out move on his part in going to Rothbury.
