  1. Could he be the unnamed Italian/Spanish geezer from another thread ? Or was it decided he had to be ginger ?
  2. Oh dear, someone obviously forgot to put the bog seat down after they'd finished... ....or perhaps forgot to put it up before taking (a poor) aim !!
  3. Yes, it was during the time we were managed by Bally and Lawrie was DoF. Story afterwards was that Lineker had attended a charity function down here where AB and LM were also present. Lawrie replied to the speculation saying that David Gower had also been there so were we going to sign him as well. I would not be surprised if we tapped "Line-acre" up about returning to the Premiership but he was intent on retiring .
  4. Preston fans not too complimentary about Carter and his attitude: http://www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?t=55590&page=5

Looks more like Drogba in drag than Heskey.
  6. A couple of observations :
  7. Wait for Poyet to trot out the usual managerspeak of "well, it was nothing serious, just handbag stuff really". Or perhaps he dare not use such a phrase about Brighton.
  8. Parsons
  9. Ridiculous that a third division footballer can earn so much.. I remember Jim Steele driving a Ford Capri, and Peter Osgood drove a yellow Cortina Mk III.
  10. Possibly not there on merit. But of course that will not satisfy the PC 'lets rewite history' brigade so perhaps we should invent some candidates to suit. 'Chicken George' was probably better than Paine, or at least would have been had he not been oppressed by a racist/facist regime so he should be included.
  11. The shirt is for one year, and given its historical context I can certainly live with it. We have had worse abominations, ie the red with white shoulders in the 1985 era, the Danish pyjamas, and the Pony tick.So the sash is fine with me for a season.
  12. Cost of course - up here anyway- s the same as a fine, £60, so no financial advantage.
  13. Mixed bunch attended mine. I was genuinely surprised by the upper end of the ages. Bear in mind that you are only "invited" to one of these if you are driving as a 'borderline' case; I suspect you were doing 36-39 in a 40mph,Any more and you might not have the option of the course, as opposed to pimts.
  14. So,combining the logic of the above posts, it could be said that we will have great competition for places, with the three above mentioned players competing either for a starting place that does not exist (unless we rest Lambert),or possibly two places on the bench from where they can make a 20 minute cameo appearance. I'm sure AP knows what he wants and what he is doing.
  15. Don't know why, but I had assumed that the shirt would first be worn v Plymouth. The match v Reading is more likely to be used as a chance to show the away kit to the public.
  16. Leeds are also rumoured to be keen on Tyson.
  17. I'm not too excited by the prospect of Tyson to be honest. Your mates observations are interesting but in contrast to some of the other comments read from Forest fans. After Tyson's name was first seriously linked with us,someone put up a link to a Forest forum where the general view was less impressive, ie past his best, has lost his pace which had been his main asset, and questions raised over his attitude.Of course thats just a snapshot of opinion on an internet forum ( possibly by a poster called Alpine Forest ?) so not necessarily gospel, but not a glowing endorsement. For the £500-600,000 it might take to bring him from Forest, I suspect that would also be enough to prise Antonio from Reading which in my view would be a far better investment. Henderson might be the sort of battering ram centrefoward we need in this division. We never play well against one so it might well be a good option to have one in our own ranks.
  18. Of course very few of us have seen him play. The most telling statistic however was at the time of his signing, someone posted on here that at the age of 23 or whatever, he had only made about 40 first team appearances,30 of which were for teams managed by his old man.
  19. Wave a potential £1.5m in front of them and I'm sure they would...
  20. Fair point in all seriousness, but it is galling that we retain a player we cannot give away...
  21. And I blame Ottery, who posted before me,and Alpine who posted before him. I too apologise unreservedly to Anthony for any offence or embarrasment this may have caused.I shall email Nicola tomorrow suggesting a hike in ticket prices and booking fees to ensure Anthony receives the best medical attention, and rehabilitation that money can buy, probably somewhere exclusive in Switzerland, to ensure his footballing career and prospects in the top flight are not going to be jeopardised because of this unfortunate incident. Anything left over can be used for his next rehabilitation ....
  22. I think we all know this is the clubs way of just putting our minds at ease, that despite everything and in case anyone was in any doubt,we can assure you Anthony Pulis will NOT be available for first team selection for the forseeable future. Now watch ST sales soar.
