  1. Mixed feeling if true. Would have preferred KK,WGS,or an up and coming manager such as Tisdale ahead of AP.Another name that was quite exciting the more I read about him was Poyet. Pardew is however a far better option than Dowie, both the Adams,Wise and Curbishley though. Just not particularly inspiring as we hope to enter a new era.
  2. That was also my interpretation of Lynam's comment.
  3. Well, having witnessed the Branfoot style, I would want Saints to knowingly return to it. Coppell's teams are also appear pretty dour to me.Palace for pitys sake were almost a template for Branfoot who coached under Coppell. I think,Gentlemen, we shall just have to agree to disagree on this issue without resorting to insults.
  4. Firstly, that is as good a summary as I've seen and agree with most of your comments.Glad that you've ommited the dour duo of Coppell and Curbishley. I wouldn't want Boothroyd for his 'style' of hoofball. Of the other two, there are several similarities in what they offer and some areas of doubt. They both offer potential but can questioned on the fact neither have had money to spend, how would they handle that ? Poyet could indeed be a good choice although Tisdale is the more likely to remain at the club longer to build it back up.Poyet I could see being lured away to Spain or even Spurs when 'arry is found out.
  5. I read that as Strachan would not be on Tony's list "because of personal reasons",if TL was drawing it up.NOT,Strachan will not be available at all because of personal reasons.
  6. Totally agree and don't understand where the fascination for such a one season wonder comes from. If we are looking at ambitous young managers with potential and some record of success then Tisdale and Poyet stand out(although Poyet has not managed on his own account as yet).
  7. Tony Adams ? Many would even prefer Hoddle to that cretin. Most names put forward have supporters and critics. It would not take lomg for the "I told you so.." and "whythe appointment was a mistake" posts to start.
  8. I'd wait until a new manager is announced before sharing that conclusion.
  9. Bobby Robson would still be a better bet even allowing for his age and health.

    Fairford 2009

Probably driving past there on the way to the Ajax match.
  11. Poyet would be behind KK,WGS and Tisdale in my preferences but thereafter I think he's a good shout as a young knowlegeable manager with potential.
  12. Oakley is a good suggestion out of this field of candidates.
  13. BRILLLLLLLL !!! :smt044 Hope their rich Arab can buy a new set of shirts etc..
  14. Disaster at both Sheff Weds and Derby,so his record is not as unblemished as people think.Personally I can't stand the fat scouse b^stard and wouldn't want him at Saints.
  15. We seem to have a number of candidates falling into this category though,Coppell and Curbishley both seem devoid of personality.Adams, not that I would even consider him a contender is just a moron.
  16. Agree. That was the best individual goal ever. Best team goal was Channon's after the 17 passes V Liverpool c1982.
  17. Its probably too late for me to engage in a long debate, but do you think that Jurgen Klinsmann ,for the sake of an example, would be able and prepared to do battle in our current league ? We need someone who can tackle the pitfalls of Div One.Passport may not be material to this, but their experience of the challenge and lower league ahead are important.
  18. as in "blessed " are those who buy the Saints, or "it's not over till the fat bastard sings ?".
  19. Jacksons Farm ? Thats the link some have been looking for.Equestrian centre of the South. It will be home to the Swiss Equestrian team in 2012.
  20. Bulle,Dubai ? Easy mistake to make I'm sure.
  21. Partly due to the spelling error in translation I misread that as 'indecently:eek: he is the uncle of...' Don't suppose we know when she and her horse are coming to visit yet do we ?
  22. Does he live in Bulle ? Another article states Dubai. Makes you feel proud !
  23. Can someone please expand on this possibility for the benefit of us exiles ?
  24. I am just delighted he has purchased the club. If his beliefs and values were instrumental in influencing this and enhance the future of our club then better still. But really this is a matter solely for ML. I am also delighted the joker wheeled out by Pinnacle has not been able to cause further embarassment for the club.
