So in your eyes we are well and truly buggered then,as no one else of any credibility is left. That does indeed make depressing reading.
-
Whatever misgivings you have about the bloke I think the level of accusations you are throwing at him here are grossly unjust.
-
I think this is Fry's wake up call to others on the periphery who are still contemplating a bid or not. I assume Pinnacle are in the process of licking wounds and possibly regrouping.Salz & co still in preparation pending developments and progress of others perhaps. The (more) unknown though is the rumoured overseas bidder.Come on Mr Allen, don't be shy, you know you really want to !

Including in America, and the middle east. Wasn't it one of these such invisible friends that set in motion a mass hysteria two years ago ? Having said that I'd accept a MJ cosortium lead club over no club at all if push comes to shove.
-
I think this was probably answered in Lynam's interview earlier in the week. It appears that despite their initial discussions they were unable to give the firm assurances that Fry was looking for.Possibly due to one or two members of the consortium getting "cold feet".
-
Okay so you have reservations over the bloke.Perhaps he could have been more dynamic in his involvement, but wasn't. I don't agree that he was "complicit in allowing Lowe back in" however. The fact was Lowe, along with Wilde and their supporters as major shareholders were able to force that issue.
-
too soon for my fragile nerves.
-
Hartlepool away at easter then.
-
TNT may have answered that for you in the following post. Anything further than that is a question for Salz himself. I don't know. It is however a valid question.
-
Why on earth should such a bid be entertained by Fry ? Unless he is fed up with what he may regard as dealing with chancers, or they are bound to fall at some further hurdle.
-
apologies for Freudian slip.
-
Are you not confusing Salz with Fukthorpe here ? Or is it suggested their interests are linked ?
-
Why Salz ? From everything I have read about him he is someone of gravitas in the business world,as a highly respected solicitor. If he could oversee the Guiness/Distillers merger etc then I'm sure he would bring many qualities to our board and running of the club. Had he become involved 18months ago I believe the club's relationship with the bank and other creditors may have been very different.
-
Pleased to read about Salz's continued presence and interest. I too have wondered about this : better still I question if someone with Salz's reputaion and standing could not act to bring the interested parties together.
-
I am aware of Marc Jackson, from reading on here it seems he is a local chancer who has in the past talked up his "connections".Without wishing to rewrite multiple threads from the past two years, can anyone offer anything of substance in support of him though ? Background, previous sucessful ventures etc. As for Green, who is he ? Apart from chairing a meeting once, what is his background and connection with Saints ? Would anyone be optimistic that they could see the deal through even if they do enter a period of exclusivity ?
-
No known developments since yesterday, nor any further speculation to thrive on.
-
Perhaps there will be an announcement of "no news in 48 hrs".
-
In what capacity was the latter mentioned then ? Investor, manager ? Any other clues as to name.Could help bide the time awaiting the real announcement.

Lowe does not live in or near Tewkesbury, which is a shame as he might have been washed away in floodwater in 2007 if that were the case. (He is closer to Cirencester if you wish to look at a map of Gloucestershire again.)
-
A fair few Cheltenham fans are fed up with him by now as well tbh. Many of the critiscisms are reminiscent of Burley's time with us;not knowing best team, constant changing making it unsettled, too many loans, etc. The other familiar theme heard and read "we can't afford to sack him". Off the field,I don't think we'd be too eager to appoint a manager who gets p!ssed and drops his pants in a town centre pub a couple of nights before an important home match : http://www.thisisgloucestershire.co.uk/news/Robins-boss-barred-pub-antics/article-968628-detail/article.html

Interesting, but the part in bold does not seem plausible to me. I would have thought that all the potential purchaser has to do is establish they have sufficient funds - so the amount involved should be vaguely established at the outset - to complete the purchase from the creditor.Having gone that far I can't see the creditors needing to delve beyond that. Regretably I suspect Guided Missiles take on it may be more likely.
-
If true then Leon Crouch is elevating himself into the echelon of Saints, along with Corbett, Blagrave and Reader. Isn't Crouch though thought to be part of a potential consortium put together by Salz ? If so, I wonder if they will now be in the frame again.
-
Thanks for that.I think it proves my point.
-
Both of which are a little more positive than the original statement. Thank you for clarifying it.
