For that reason might be better if he goes to Chelsea as they seem to have a higher turnover of players, and within two years they'll want to bring in the 'next big name'.

Can't agree with you, very poor response in my view. I can't say I'm bothered about Lavia or Livramento on leaving but a player who has spent over a decade in and around the first team is different. JWP has given his all over the years (irrespective of if some think there are limitations in his game) and has always conducted himself with dignity. He deserves a better response. Good luck to him at West Ham,. hope it works out for him. (Probably wouldn't have been so gracious in hoping it goes well if he'd gone to Liverpool or Spurs mind)

Good thinking. Wonder if he could go ‘blackface’ and do the full Satchmo (Louis Armstrong for younger readers) style. Think it might gain some publicity.
-
Wonder if Darren Mowbray will unearth a couple of names from abroad that we haven’t heard of. Think he managed it at Aberdeen. Must have a few CB and GK’s on a list.

Not a great fan of it, but rather that than a bloody laser light show

Reminds me of the opening scene and funeral in Live & Let Die.

Who do you suggest ? (Assuming you’re referring to the Championship as 2nd Division. Fine by me if you are, it’s still that in my mind).
-
This has been the line trotted out about existing players (defender’s especially), yet yesterday proved otherwise.

Interesting comment: Although Everton are open to a loan, their preference is to sell. Yes, I bet they do. Tells its own story.

Was it him or Hansen who came up with 'early doors' ?

Ralph was sure we had a striker coming in at the end of last summer.

Begs the question, why are we trying still ?

I don't think there is any hatred shown towards GB. Far from it, I think most fans have laid off and shown a great deal of restraint given our form over the last twelve months and relegation. If anything there is a sympathy towards him. Most fans seem to be of the same view, too young and shouldn't have been put in this position for so long. It goes back to my point that we haven't handled their development well.

Improvement on the crap last time, but still crap Really does feel like 'foam hands' party time when its played (fit for a 'Noddy Club' as someone on here terms it).
-
They were well taken, but from our angle they were given too much time and space (and a gift wrapped opportunity for the fourth).
-
did he add 'especially ours, cos he's shit at the best of times ..' ? (Just to add I wouldn't fault him for yesterday).

after the Everton away game I heard Jones on the radio describing JWP as one of the best 'technicians' in the game. Hadn't heard the phrase used before but that night and for a couple of weeks the MOTD panel and others were using it quite regularly. As opposed to "without the ball", or was that just for Ely ? Big Ron was known for a few phrases, I think 'dinked it' might have been another. Then there are others that would be censored today.

Going into MLG mode on you for a minute, but the 'fact' (if it is) that neither Gunn or Gazzainiga are no longer considered shit is no reason, guarantee, or basis to think that Bazunu might develop so he is no longer considered shit. That said, what it tends to support - for me anyway - is that we simply haven't handled their development as young goalkeepers well. And/or the original decision(s) to sign them was flawed.

is that still going ?

But you also have to look at the 'sum of the parts' and what it leaves you with. Stephens alongside Bednarek is a poor combination when played together as all their failings are laid bare without the other being able to compensate for it. Put either of them alongside Fonte (at his prime with us) or VVD and they'd seem twice the player.

Agree, you should go on Twitter/X and tell him, #fuckoff#

Been lacking for a couple of seasons but will continue to be exploited this season. Tracing their first goal, Barnes had all the time to chest it and bring it under control without anyone rattling him, he must have thought it was a training exercise. Free headers in the box, and Sheff Weds previously covered and no further comment needed. Our last promotion had Fonte and Jos at CB.

I’m not too concerned about this ‘mobility’ issue now raised. Same could easily be said of Lambert when he joined us, or Kane. Doesn’t seem to have hampered their progress and goalscoring.
-
Probably. Boehly just wants to recruit for the sake of it, without thinking what he does with the squad when it’s amassed.

They must have a GK or two that are surplus to their needs. Bettinelli a couple of years ago might have been ideal. Problem is though he probably hasn’t played at any level for for a while.
