  1. Why do you think you have to shift one, before signing somebody else, is there a limit to the number of keepers you’re allowed to pay? Can we not sign someone to replace Redmond because we can’t shift him. It’s bizarre anyone would would accept 2 shite keepers just because they’ve got contracts. Other clubs bin keepers regularly, regardless of whether they’ve contracts . We did it when first promoted. I don’t suppose you chumps were saying we had to put up with Kelvin because he had a contact and signing Boruc would have meant an extra keeper on the books. Who is responsible to playing and putting up with a substandard keeper, if not the manager?
  2. The point I’m making is that after 2.5 years the manager has to take responsibility for the team he picks and the fact we have substandard first and second picks in a position. It sums up the whole “nearly good enough” attitude that seems to run through the club. I’d expect a manager to have identified that there’s a weakness in that position, and dealt with it by now. It didn’t happen overnight, they weren’t good enough this time last year and the year before. How much is Walcott on a week?
  3. IF the left back & striker didn’t sign a new contract because they didn’t like the manager, the way he used them, or had no faith in his ability to help their career, whose fault is that? Les Reed’s.
  4. Well I can’t get my head around the number of people absolving him of any blame for anything. He’s been here 2.5 seasons, it’s his job to manage the club, be proactive. This hasn’t suddenly just come over the horizon. They’ve both been shite pretty much the whole time he’s been here. He’s made choices, he decides where we need strengthening and where we’ll “get by”. He’s decided to “get by” with 2 sub standard keepers. If we go down because they’re awful and undermine the back 4, that’s down to him. Not Claude Puel, Mark Hughes, Les Reed or any other figures that have been gone awhile. What’s Walcott on a week?
  5. No money? Choices have been made. The buck stops with the manager.
  6. The fact we’re discussing this highlights the managers dereliction of duty. He should have sorted this out , no question. I assumed the rotation pony last season was to decide which one to move on, but it appears not. It wouldn’t surprise me if he chops and changes again this season, and then wonders why we concede so many. Shocking.
  7. God, it’s going to encourage more Nods to start supporting us. “A third person added: "Oh god damn! Am I a Southampton fan now? Recently moved to the south coast - location and family ties would attach me to Pompey, but this is awesome! Well done #SaintsFC." I’d say it’s condescending towards our gay supporters and totally needless. The sooner we stop this pony the better.
  8. I think peak value is now.
  9. I’ve never once demanded anyone name somebody’s real name. If anyone was that interested they’d be able to find the club by going back through my posts, because I’ve mentioned it previously. If anyone believes the first JWP knew that Villa would be making a bid for him was when they made it , I’ve got a bridge for sale. It defies belief that anybody doesn’t realise how it works, so I can only presume they’re letting their personal dislike of my opinions cloud their thought process.
  10. If McCarthy played in nets every game for Man C and as a result they finished third, would that prove he was a top 4 standard keeper?
  11. I hope The Daily Mails role in bringing the culprits to justice is acknowledged.
  12. Hilarious. I bet you’re a right laugh down the ale house
  13. When judging strikers you need to take into account when they score their goals & the outcome of those goals. There’s stats for everything so there’s got to be stats around how many winning goals they scored, how many saved a point. I’ve seen plenty of blokes who score in easy wins or score in 3-1 loses. Off the top of my head, Danny Ings scored at important times, & scored when we really needed a goal. He was pretty ruthless at big moments.
  14. Player
  15. It happens all the time. Do you really think it comes as a surprise when the player hears a club has made a bid. FFS, how naive are you?
  16. What, you really believe that players aren’t tapped up before bids are submitted ? Lol 😂 I guess you still believe in the tooth fairy. My nephew is at a championship club, so I do have a bit of a clue. Other than that, great point well made.
  17. Bids for players don’t suddenly come out of nowhere. Clubs only bid for players once the said player has indicated he’s up for a discussion. If JWP or his people had told Villa “fuck off, I’m not interested in the slightest”, they’d not have made the bid.
  18. It’s not for you to decide what is and isn’t in people’s interests. They can decide for themselves. You’ve summed up exactly why lefties can’t win elections.
  19. At least the manager won’t cry if we beat Sheffield Weds
  20. The problem is, when you’re as shite as we appear to be, you need to grind out some results. We just haven’t got the players, mentality, or manager to do that. We’ll probably out play some sides for periods of games, but without Ings are we really going to take advantage of that? When we play badly or are under the cosh, we concede. It’s as simple as that. I hope I’m wrong, but nothing I’ve seen preseason leads me to believe next season will be any different. Ralph needed to realise he dodged a bullet last season and adjust tactically this. I don’t see any sign of this happening, so where are the points coming from? When we play badly we’ll lose, and when we play well we won’t pick up as many points as performance deserves.
  21. Boyer is the same with Boscombe supporters as well, Macdougal is a legend there amongst the older blokes but Boyer rarely gets mentioned. People forget he played for England once as well.
  22. But that’s exactly what they are. When the going gets tough, they hide.
  23. It’s a noddy trophy.
  24. And an absolutely woeful semi final where he preferred Redmond to Adams. He should be sacked for that alone.
