  1. The mistakes we’ve made have been a direct result of the managers tactics. I’ve heard pundits saying “if they continue to play like this, they’ll go down”. Not “if they continue to make mistakes”, but “if they continue to play that way”. There’s a difference. Nobody is talking about other sides like that, and it’s entirely down to the manager. Therefore, if we continue to play the same way over the next handful of games, we should pull the pin. I can’t believe they’ll still be nods defending him if we’re in the same boat next month.
  2. Let’s hope so, an independent investigation conducted by an experienced person, somebody who can get to the truth, but act tactfully, is in order. IMO
  3. Yeah, chances are you’re right. Now we’ve got the big guns like Forest, Brentford & the 10 men of Newcastle out the way, mistakes won’t be punished so ruthlessly from now on in. If we keep playing like this I’m sure we’ll be fine.
  4. Fair play, you’ve probably lost out to someone who has been to less then. We’re heading the same way as Liverpool & other clubs, where ST holders end up being the distributors of away tickets.
  5. This is a serious thread, trust you to lower the tone. It’s 2024 man, not 1972.
  6. Im sure he’s skulking around, ashamed. Especially with other players looking at him & saying “look at that greedy cunt, he fucked off from this wonderful club to join Klopp & Liverpool”.
  7. No, but you’d probably get a 0-0 against us.
  8. A run which helped the 2nd or 3rd best squad in the league achieve the fantastic finish of……4th.
  9. How does scoring a goal against a Championship side prove anything in the premier league? Fuck me, Adam Armstrong scored a goal against a championship keeper and a championship defence, how can anyone question Lego after that? That goal proves we’re on the right track ….
  10. Have you personally been to those 16 aways, or has your number been used for 16 aways?
  11. Personally I like 3 central defenders, but prefer what Terry Venables did sometimes, play a strong full back as the wide centre half. Maybe Charlie Taylor could play on the left of a 3. Don’t know if he ever played centre half previously but he has the build. Bree probably not good enough the other side, but again he’s an old fashioned looking full back who could play as the wide man of a 3. The problem with 3 pure centre halves is they get run down the sides, and they get in each other’s way. You need players who can play full back and centre half, in the wide positions, with a centre half centrally. Imo.
  12. That’s why I’m not doing Brighton away.
  13. Puel made us tight defensively with Stephens & Yoshida as centre halves, so I refuse to believe we couldn’t tighten up. I’d imagine the reason he wants to play 3 centre halves as it releases our full backs to get further forward. In a properly set up defensive unit, with instructions to just defend and cut out the Beckenbauer impressions, we’d have a couple of points on the board, no bother.
  14. Why are you so upset about, did they find a white fiver in yours? It’s no big deal, what’s the difference between emptying your pockets and opening your wallet?
  15. We’ve got one of the countries best goal keepers. 3 out of the 5 at the back have played the majority of their career in the top flight. The other 2 are, an international full back who already looks the part, & a very promising young centre half. Downes looks premier league quality & from early glimpses a couple of the new signings look promising. I reckon a competent manager would have us on at least 2 points, not world beating but something to work on. This blokes sucked the positivity out of promotion already, mainly because of his fuck witted tactics.
  16. He wasn’t talking about the whole tactical set up, just that the players weren’t set up right in those particular moments. He actually said the structure wasn’t right “both times”. The implication being had they been where he wanted them to be, we wouldn’t have conceded. Therefore, it’s the players fault. That’s not taking responsibility, taking responsibility would be admitting he needs to change tactically. He’s a million miles away from admitting he’s set us up wrong and asked us to play in a manner we’re incapable of. That’s taking responsibility.
  17. He’s doing exactly the same. Taking responsibility for players mistakes is the oldest managerial trick in the book. He’s not say his “play book” is fundamentally wrong, just that they didn’t follow it properly. He doesn’t seem capable of comprehending that his tactics are wrong, that’s not taking responsibility. Also very telling that he brings up where playing like this has got HIM in 5 years. That’s the giveaway, he’s got a massive ego.
  18. His idea of taking responsibility is saying it’s his fault the players aren’t implementing his philosophy properly. His implying that he’s right & it’s just the execution that’s wrong. He’s blaming others for his tactical shortcomings.
  19. This is what boils my piss about him. He sets the culture at the club, & the culture is excessive possession football. People laugh at Fat Sam and others over their 4-4-fucking 2 football, but this blokes as inflexible as any of those dinosaurs. It’s all well and good saying we shouldn’t be playing that particular way in that particular instance, but he stands there clapping like a performing seal when we pass our way out of tight situations, safe in the knowledge the cameras will catch him showing the world “that’s MY philosophy “. Added to the fact he wants us to play like that, the players have no out ball even if they wanted to launch it. We’ve got no CF to challenge and hold the ball up and no wide men capable of chasing into the channels. I’ve fucking no doubt Lego wouldn’t be applauding a centre half who hoofed it straight back to the oppositions keeper when under pressure. He’s a fucking pony merchant.
  20. Team selection is 100% the managers.
  21. Bleksley is spot on about most law and order issues. Top man….
  22. That’s the one I’ve got. Some great IPA’s. Vocation life & death, although it’s a bit pricey, is the best. Free delivery if you order 2 so I normally get a punk ipa, then try something different. It is absolutely like having a pint in the ale house, best home drinking experience by a mile. Get about 9 pints out of it, there’s some iffy reviews but I’ve had it a year and it’s been absolutely spot on.
  23. Looks like our new Elyounoussi to me. In the side because he’s disciplined off the ball, fills certain holes and does exactly what the manager wants him to do. Get him down the middle or stick his arse on the bench.
