I agree, I think we will go for Robertson. Looks class, albeit in the SPL. According to their message boards Dundee Utd are looking to sign a Czech left back which suggests Robertson is on his way.
I admire your positivity but I recall Lowe saying something similar the last time we had a Dutch experiment. For me, the proof of the pudding will be in whether we bring in quality (international standard) replacements. If not we are simply going backwards.
I've heard a rumour that some of your players are being coveted by Bradford and Colchester - nothing you can do to hold on to them - at least the £30k fee can be re-invested in to paying for some penalty spots on the training pitch.
I think its clear that the Shaw and Lallana deals were effectively done before the World Cup. With this in mind you would like to think that the club have the replacements lined up and they will be announced shortly after the departures are. The quality of this signings and the message it sends will be interesting - from what Guan has alluded to we may be in for a pleasant surprise. Let's hope so.
A fantastic talent, of that there is no doubt and will be very difficult to replace...but, if the player wants to go and we have secured the fee that has been reported then it is good business for all parties.
Isn't this just William Blake being ironic about England? I remember being taught in school that the whole things was basically a **** take saying that England was actually a **** hole so why on earth would Jesus have bothered visiting (as was rumoured apparently during the period he wrote it), the notion being ridiculous. Maybe I just had an odd English teacher.
This is said every time we screw up at a major tournament and nothing ever changes. English football has stood still for years whilst the so called "lesser" nations have not only improved but overtaken us in respect of technicality with the ball.
