  1. Aah those good old days, when Craig Mackail-Smith was the absolute pinnacle of footballing talent!
  2. You mean like buy one and not get one free?

    All quiet then

I reckon he's much better sticking to the left. Yep, I'm bored too.
  4. Why did I dream that I read this thread on here weeks ago?
  5. 1. MP has seen more of Yoshida than any other FB in the squad 2. Maybe MP wants to see whether Jos or Jose is better as first backup. 3. Maybe MP wants a look at Stephens & Turnbull 4. Maybe Yoshida needs a rest
  6. Which one, the one where I say he was rubbish in that game? I was there and he was. Or the one where I say I hope we stay well clear? I do hope we steer well clear, both Lallana and Puncheon are better players. I've only seen Ramirez on the telly, and haven't seen Isgrove at all, so I can't speak for them. I respect your right to disagree with my opinion, but not your right to tell me that I can't have one. That could be construed as arrogance.
  7. Showing 17.30 on the live scores page I use (http://www.livescores.cc)
  8. Dunno, it's the only time I've seen him play.
  9. I saw him 2 weeks ago. Worst player on the pitch. No first touch, no football brain and no final product. Apart from that the rest of his game was poor. I hope we steer well clear.
  10. I once had a yellow billed kite nick a T-bone steak off my plate. Were there any of them around? And more importantly has your ring been in contact with any meat recently?
  11. Not exactly transparent though, is it? It's deliberately spun to give the impression that they're only spending half as much as they should be on wages, which we know is not the case. They are now once again gambling on what their future takings might be. And if they're a bit down then they're back to scrounging around for more "shareholder's loans" from the HNWs secured by "fixed and floating charges". As ant said, meet the new boss.....
  12. I can vaguely remember working out the year City won the title that it cost them £3m a point (in losses, not transfer fees some of which you will get back when you sell).
  13. The concensus of the bookies on oddschecker is that we will be behind the usual suspects, including Everton and Newcastle, nutting it out with Wham for 9th and 10th, with us around 6/4 for a top ten finish. I don't think they're far wrong.
  14. My guess is that in the usual way they are not being wholly truthful, and they are including the last of the PPs in their turnover, even though (in theory) they are going straight in and back out again before the skates get a sniff of them. I guess if you strip the PPs out, their wages to T/o is probably closer to 75%.

    Go home

One could argue that failing to confront a particular form of illegal activity just because most of the perpetrators are from ethnic minorities is, in fact, more racist. I don't see it as any different to similar billboards warning TV licence dodgers, for example.
  16. Global warming. Planning for the future.
  17. Eh?
  18. you. can't. count.
  19. Not quite but very close. I can see his house from the balcony outside our bedroom. Mrs. h and I bumped into OP at a do at the Sheraton a couple of months ago.
  20. Considering he has to work most weekends through the year, I would say a month is an absolute minimum to rest and refresh the mind as well as the body. And for him it is less than ideal because it is middle of winter.
  21. Interesting how many second generation remote Saints are signing up through choice. My own excuse is that I lived in Southampton (& Eastleigh for a bit) from the age of 12 until I went to Poly when I was 19. But my son who is now 14 was born in Pretoria, has only ever lived in England for 2 years (1 year in Milton Keynes and 1 near Ely) and is also an ardent Saints fan.
  22. Why are we so focussed on Forren? It didn't turn out well, we have absolutely no idea why, but at least we didn't get lumbered. I hope all our transfers that don't turn out well have such satisfactory endings.
  23. Thank goodness for that, I was beginning to think they might have seen the light and we would have to think about closing the thread.
  24. I think Norwich took the same view as us, either Holt or Hooper, but not both.
