  1. Preston are currently top 6 in L1, with game(s) in hand. This is no easy game, and I expect some big guns (Lallana/Lambert/Cork) on the bench just in case. I'd want all 3 of them on the pitch at the end if it goes to penalties.
  2. Our excellent start has put us in a very strong position. Anything over 10 points from these 7 games will put us on an average of more that 2 points/game over the first 14 games, with a bunch of winnable games leading up to January. Keep the faith. There's a reason why the bookies have us clear favourites to finish second, and odds-on for a top 6 finish. And Rickie Lambert clear favourite to finish top scorer in the league.
  3. When we reach not the end, not even the beginning of the end, but the end of the beginning. HTH
  4. It would be on it's way to Fratton.
  5. If we don't like the way the Chairman runs the club, we should go and support Bournemouth.

I think you missed my point. If you have 2 fantastic CBs who play all of your competitive games, then if 1 of them gets injured, you haven't got another CB in the squad who has any competitive game experience to step in

Until one of them gets injured or suspended, and you need a match-fit replacement.
  8. Morgan for Deano. Chappers for Guly. Please.
  9. Can we play on Sunday every week?
  10. so Fox at lb then?
  11. I'm a bit confused here. Has Danny Butterfield left us for a new music career, or is Marvin Gaye coming in on loan at right back?
  12. My comment was intended to be tongue in cheek, but nevertheless I'll bite. The reason Portpin is registered in the British Virgin Islands is because: Confidentiality and Secrecy Confidentiality is one of the main benefits of BVI Business Companies and an important reason to have an offshore company in the British Virgin Islands. The BVI International Business Companies Ordinance 1984 (as amended) contains extended privileges and strict confidentiality requirements for the companies. The key features of BVI companies providing for complete confidentiality are: - Register of Members, Register of Directors and all Minutes and Resolutions by the Company are kept only with the Registered Agent under confidential due diligence and do not appear on the public record. - The shareholder information (Registrar of Shareholders) must be kept on file with the Registered Agent, where it is confidential and accessible only by the members of the company. - Details of the company beneficial owners, directors and shareholders are not publicly available . For all we know Portpin could be owned by Santa Claus.
  13. It seems pretty clear to me that it is Chainrai's liability, not the new owners. The bit about the claims being subrogated to Portpin after payment is the clue. I take that to mean that after paying 100%, Portpin will be entitled to get 20% back under the CVA payment in due course. There wouldn't be much point in subrogating the claims to the new owners so that they could pay themselves 20% back under the CVA, would there? Unless the point is covered in the actual sale agreement which we won't get to see, obviously (and I don't think it is), then it seems pretty plain that Chainrai offered to buy the small creditor's claims, and take their place in line as a creditor under the CVA. All that is, of course, provided that Portpin and Chainrai are actually one and the same
  14. A fairly common occurrence for me in the days when I used to commute from Bletchley to Euston. I remember one evening after a couple of beers after work, I woke up in Northampton. No problem, I thought, and crossed over and got on the next southbound train. Woke up at Watford Junction.
  15. Well, not really. That undertaking was written into the CVA report which was filed by the Administrator at the High Court on or about 18th June 2010. It is part & parcel of the terms under which the club exited admin.
  16. To re-quote your earlier quote, SIP, with a different emphasis, Mr. Lampitt has previously acknowledged himself that there are other outstanding most shameful aspects of the legacy he inherited, but he hasn't quite got round to putting those ones to bed yet. It is still, in his own words, shameful.
  17. Should I have a fag now?
  18. Don't forget the house of cards started to topple when Standard Bank South Africa called in a large loan (around £35m IIRC) for immediate repayment, and they had to sell players immediately to pay it back. It was paid back.

    New York?

Beware that, in my experience, NY can be freezing cold in February. Was there for a few days in Feb '07, and the MAX daytime temperature was -10C (15F) and dropping below -20C at night. That cuts out a lot of the options (ferries, bridge walks, parks, etc). It took 10 minutes to wrap up just to go outside for a cigarette. We use the buses to get around Manhattan, it helps to get orientated. You buy the bus pass tickets in the subway stations. As for hotels, these days we stay at the Waldorf, a fantastic old hotel. Mrs. H always gets a good deal by phoning them direct rather than booking online. Depends on how much you want to spend. Personally I love NY. It's probably the only place I actually enjoy going shopping. February is OK for museums, galleries, shops, etc (and there are plenty of them), but if you want to do the outdoor stuff I would go at a different time.
  21. I think I've done my duty. Even though he was born in Pretoria, my son (now 12) is a Saint through & through. He only just realised this morning that the Springboks have gone to New Zealand for something.
  22. Send the club a copy of his family tree. Make sure George Weah's in it somewhere.
  23. Won't get any PL youngsters, as they can keep them in addition to their 25 limit. We used to use loans from the nPC, but I can't see anybody loaning us anybody we would want now. And I would expect any PL manager to want some kind of assurance from us about game time, and I'm not sure Nigel would give them that at the moment. I'm not even sure we could offer bench time at the moment with the new limit. So, personally, I'm not expecting anybody.
  24. How come we've got 2 Puncheon threads & 2 Hooiveld threads and only 1 BT thread. Have we got no respect?
  25. Good afternoon. Saints fans in good voice at the start.
