Hi Saints fans! ;) I need to drive from Southampton to Gatwick on a Friday morning in a couple of weeks. I need to arrive at the South Terminal by 08:00. Does anyone have any tips on the best route to take that time of day please? I suppose I will leave at about 06:00 so I would hope traffic congestion is not an issue but we shall see!! Thanks.

Rickie's debut was against Northampton Town.

****ing weird team selection. Three at the back or Yoshida at right back? Either way, wtf?! And no Gaston. Odd.

There was no analysis. Just Jonathan Pearce's commentary along the lines of "obviously not a goal". I find his commentary quite annoying. He seems to think he needs to impose a snapshot editorial on things when there is no need. As for the effort itself, what a great flick, turn and shot by Gaston. It's criminal how little we get him on the ball near the opposition box.

The way we deal with their thuggish play is by keeping the ball and scoring some goals. We can't allow ourselves to be pushed back: we need to put pressure on the ball high up the field and we need to keep a reasonably high defensive line (our defence is reasonably quick now we have Yoshida so this is not too risky). If we drop back and give their defenders time we just won't cope with the amount of time the ball spends in or around our box. We need to get the ball to Puncheon and Ramirez as much as we can and if they lose it we need to get straight in stoke's face. Lambert is a dilemma for this one. On the one hand his aerial presence might be handy defensively but on the other I think Rodriguez or even Guly would suit the required gameplan better. On balance I would give him a rest but have him on the bench. I would also be tempted to give Chaplow a chance on the bench. His ability is generally not PL standard but, as mentioned above, we need to be able to keep pressure on the ball for 90 mins and he could make a great impact in that regard. I would pick this team: -----------------------------Boruc---------------------- Clyne--------Fonte------------Yoshida---------Shaw -------------------Cork---------Schneiderlin---------- Puncheon--------------Ramirez-----------------Guly ------------------------Rodriguez---------------- Sub: Gazza, Hooiveld, S Davis, Lambert, Mayuka, Chaplow, de Ridder

Big game and one where we should be capable of getting something if we play well. I don't rate the current Fulham team, they have got worse this season and if one of the bottom four or five puts some decent results together they could well end up in the relegation battle IMO. So, our team. I think we need to find a way to be harder to beat in away games. Generally speaking, our defence is much better now but we are just too cavalier. We have only managed not to lose in one away game and that was against a dreadful opponent. If we could have just turned two of those defeats into draws we would be in a much stronger position. We need a solid midfield three made up of proper central midfielders. That means changing the shape of the front four and, indeed, it means they become a three. The corollary of that is that they need to be mobile and so it follows that Lambert must be benched. I would pick this team: ------------------------------KD/Boruc---------------------------- Clyne---------------Fonte------------------Yoshida-------------Shaw -------------------------------Schneiderlin-------------------------- ------------------------Cork--------------Ward-Prowse------------ -----------Puncheon----------------------------Ramirez----------- ------------------------------Rodriguez--------------------------- Sub: KD/Boruc, Hooiveld/Richardson, Fox, Davis, Lee, Mayuka, Lambert

Saint Fan Cam is correct, sadly.

Clearly it was a tight game. Turkish is a ****ing massive mong. A massive mong. Seriously, a pathetic, ****ing, sad, gimpy uber-mong. He's a prime ****. Everyone knows that. ****ing monger.

Vag. 'night all.

Well, it would certainly be pretty sad. A real man would drop 'em and give them the windmill (don't worry it looks bigger when you swing it around).

"Exonerate" - **** me. On a very worse-case scenario, all that happened was a man in a high-pressured, demanding job that 99% of the population wouldn't have the smallest proportion of the requisite ability to do lost his rag a bit and threw a few, frankly pretty anodyne, rude words around in a spat witnessed by a paltry smattering of people. There is no exonerating to be done. A small apology for losing his temper is more than adequate. The fact that this was ever anything other than a very small side-story exposes the prejudices and hysteria running through this country's feeble attempts at a public discourse to a far greater degree than any prejudices Mitchell may or may not harbour.

"We have the funding to succeed, provided we continue to convert pledges" = "we don't have the funding yet so that's why the adjournment was actually a blessing in disguise as we were screwed if we'd got the green light but we're still screwed anyway as we are never going to raise enough money and our property developer super PFC fan mate has no money".
-
Those of you saying "no, he's ****", or similar, are ****ing clueless. He would obviously be a great addition to our squad. Whether he is at all realistic financially is another matter.

Minus the suicidal managerial appointments and with far more ambition.

If they get wind of his impending presence, no doubt those in Economy beg the airline relentlessly to stick Big Phil up the front. They probably even have a whip round if necessary.

Could go to more of a diamond, therefore removing the "left wing" dilemma altogether. This would involve Cork and Puncheon putting in a lot of work though to cover wide attacks and Rodriguez and Ramirez would also have to do a lot of pressing on the other team's defence (SRL certainly won't!). Personally, I think Puncheon is probably capable of playing that role and I actually think he's better centrally than Lallana as he has a better passing range and has a better shot: -------------------------GK------------------- Clyne-----------Fonte-----Yoshida---------Shaw ---------------------Spidermans--------------- --------------Cork----------Puncheon---------- ---------------------Ramirez------------------- --------------Rodriguez-----Lamberts-----------

I was in the lower East Stand, near the away section. As everyone was getting into position for the free-kick my mate tapped me on the arm and said, "Franny's free at the back-post". We both laughed and said there's no way the ball will be going to that area then. What a great header though! [video=youtube;qodg-csJI8Y]

PKF have probably requested the adjournment because Chanrai is tring to spring something on them.

"and others" - he is an administrator but he is not the only administrator.

And, of course, the Owners and Directors test is only relevant in relation to the transfer of the "golden share". It has absolutely no legal effect with respect to land rights, no bearing on the value of a vacant Fratton Park and no impact on the best interests of the creditors unless the continuance of the football club has a material positive effect on the likelihood of the creditors receiving some money.

This should at least make us harder to beat away form home. Every cloud.

Good idea.

I did too. We wrote to him when I was a kid because I liked astronomy. He wrote back and invited us round for tea. His house was ace and he had some cool observatories in his garden. Even gave us a recital on the xylophone. Seemed like a very nice chap.
