Yes, to the last paragraph. The football creditors rule has no legal status - clubs comply because otherwise they have no business ie. they couldn't play football anymore. If a club was liquidated the football creditors would stand at the back of the queue along with all the other unsecured creditors. Creditors could, in theory, take action against an administrator I think. As far as action against PFC goes though there's not a lot they can do. The insolvency really draws a line under the matter. I think the point to remember about the first paragraph is that whilst that could happen and whilst it seems morally wrong, in most scenarios that would not actually benefit the owners; they are likely to have lost a lot of money too. If you believe what's reported, Chanrai is currently down by around £14m + any further contributions to find the administration. Al-Fahim is down £5m apparently. Al Faraj... well, goodness knows what that was all about! Even if Chanrai assumes control for next to nothing it will take him a long time to get his money back and the prospect of making a profit is pretty slim. He will own Pompey - it's not exactly a great thing to own! There are far better ways of trying to make a quick buck!

Indeed, you make some good points. But this is fundamentally a story about the housing benefits system. The set of facts do not require the subject to be a person who has been granted asylum. Anyone in receipt of housing benefit could have done this (assuming all the other reported facts are correct - I have no idea). The headline referring to them as "Asylum seeker family" is completely misleading and pointless.

Well, that is clearly a point worth debating but it has absolutely nothing to do with him being an asylum seeker. It is shocking (well, it's not but it's terribly poor) that a national paper refers to him and his family as "Asylum seeker family" when they are not. I think the article said he was granted asylum in 1999. It is completely spurious, inflammatory and deplorable.

Well, AA is under a duty to achieve the best result for the creditors. However, Chanrai is the only secured creditor and the unsecured creditors would receive nothing on a liquidation and asset sale as there is nothing of any value to sell. So it might be a plausible scenario. If there is only one interested party and the alternative to a cheap sale to that party is a liquidation that would only give a return to that party then the creditors as a whole are not being harmed if that party acquires the business. Certainly the current CVA terms are worthless if there is no CVA.

Tyson is not an amzing player - he is very rough in some respects. However what he does have, and what we currently don't, is masses of pace. He is very quick indeed and can operate upfront or down the wing so he gives us extra options. He is also a leftie and we only have one of those in an offensive position (Punch). He would be a good addition to the squad.

I think MLG may have forgotten that rumours could originate from someone other than Cortese or Pardew - ie. the player involved.

Italia 90 will always be an amazing memory for me; my first World Cup (or at least the first I was old enough to appreciate); Gazza; Platt v Belgium; Lineker v Cameroon and Germany; and, of course Pavarotti. I don't think it's an exageration to say that that recording really made the World Cup. I remember it as being very atmospheric. Unlike this one. I am willing to accept the football may have been awful though. All in all, this has been my least favourite World Cup.

It's not relevant at all. They have been given asylum so what is happening to them now is as a result, if you believe it is wrong, in a failing in the housing benefit system. Nothing to do with asylum whatsoever. As Dune has said, it could just as easily be a repugnant family of Enggerrrllland slobs. The asylum point is utterly, utterly irrelevant.
