  1. Still at least we've got club legends like Mike Channon, MLT and Mark Fry.
  2. Well if that's true they must have better sports psychologists. Grr!
  3. It's completely unacceptable though. I mean we might be showing top 2 form or something (I haven't bothered to look, I stand by my opinion regardless of the facts) but I expect nothing less than complete perfection. If something is not perfect it is evidence of a deep-rooted and fatal failure of some sort or other. Maybe sports psychology, maybe fitness, maybe lack of ambition (again, it doesn't matter whether there is any evidence for this or not, I stand by it regardless). It just depresses me that the world is so full of non-perfect sports teams. I look at Leeds, who overcame adversity and points deductions to be promoted at the first attempt (again, don't let anyone tell you otherwise) and I think "why can't we do that"? Why must we build a squad who occasionally doesn't win away? Why can't we just do what all the other teams do and win every match? Why?
  4. at a blue few crawling back on after a jammy win (offside goal, legitimate goal conceded not given etc) in a League One standard match against a surprisingly poor Brum team and pretending that all is now well.
  5. Agreed!
  6. I remember that! It was one of the League Cup two-leg round matches where we introduced £3 pay-on-the-night. Let's just say I think the official attendance may have been somewhat lower than the actual attendance!
  7. Aren't you thinking of Jo King or Lie Ing?
  8. I remember a disgusting tackle of his on Gus Poyet in front of the East Stand. It was a horrendous, straight-red, leg-breaker. He got booked and Poyet was out for 6 months! Good player though.
  9. Lol - see Sarli's been mentioned already!
  10. Cosimo Sarli Jocinta Ela-Eyene Marco Almeida
  11. He can't petition anyway as it's a disputed debt. Insolvency proceedings would be an abuse of process. Breach of contract is his claim and he must make it out.
  12. No - and he couldn't anyway until he has proven the debt is due. Pompey dispute that it is. HTH
  13. It is a serious possibility that they will reach the semi-final then be wound up. The FA's inaction and silence over this has been remarkable IMO. If a sporting sanction is appropriate as a consequence of financial mismanagement then there should be one in every competition - not just the leagues.
  14. This is what I said the other day... it is completely illogical for there to be no penalty for insolvency in the cup competitions.
  15. And let that be an inspiration to all those of you reading this who have little in the way of talent and good looks.
  16. It depends on the quality and type of player. Lallana and Puncheon are not your typical "leg it round the outside wingers". Holmes isn't either because he's quite slow but he is a "natural" winger in terms of the way he attacks the full-back. BWP is a headless chicken who is largely awful in any position but, likewise, his natural game is to go outside. Horses for courses. Playing on the "wrong" wing can suit the likes of Puncheon and Lallana. I wouldn't want to play Antonio or Waigo on the left, for example, despite them both being very effective at times on the right.
  17. They will definitely get a points penalty. The PL want shot of them and they don't need to do anything other than apply their normal rules to achieve this.
  18. Translation - they're stuffed. I really would not be at all surprised if they are wound up at the next hearing.
  19. Yeah, just for the record so no one thinks I am bonkers in the nut, I was not referring to Pulis, Forecast etc in my post!!
  20. They're all (I mine all those around the first team) CCC standard in terms of ability IMO. You would have to put question marks over Jaidi and Perry to continue at that level though for another season. Seabourne is untested at that level so he might arguably be deemed not good enough, but I think he will be. I think he's better than Calum Davenport, Andreas Jakobson, Pele (insert other poor Saints centre back who's played at a higher level here). There are a few who wouldn't set the world alight but I don't think there are any who would be out of their depth as part of a settled, well coached side.
  21. Lol again - he's not that stupid.
  22. That is effectively a force majeure clause - ie. an earthquake knocked down Fratton Park thus destroying revenue streams. "The grounds look reasonable" - ROL.
  23. If we play well we'll beat them because we have better players. Same as most matches. I think we'll play well so I think we'll win. 2-0.
  24. He was useless!
