Anyone think we'll play with two upfront at any point today? Maybe if we go 8 down we might give it a go.
-
JP out NOW.
-
I reckon Perry will score an own goal.

Has Gasmi touched the ball yet for Saints ?

He provided a lollypop and tackle receipt on Monday night. I remember it well. Flashes of Bleidelis. It was superb. -
I will push for martyrdom if that happens. It's just one of them things.
-
Yes, quite, was about to post the same thing myself. Anyone who thinks Lowe is only "tenuously" connected to what is happening on the pitch at the moment is a mentalist.

I reckon Man U will **** a brick when they see that lot lining up. Frankly, it's a distraction but it will be over quickly and hopefully we have won a couple of home games by then and are not in the bottom 3.

What about Robertson, Gasmi, Smith and Pulis?

The three main reasons we are not scoring enough goals.

What is annoying me is the "we'll adapt", "they're young, they'll improve" attitude put forward by some. Firstly, our performances, bar one or two exceptions, have been getting progressively worse. Secondly, the players are getting the stuffing knocked out of them and are being ruined - even the mananger admits half the squad can't be arsed and have pyschological problems FFS. This is exactly the complacent crap that got us sucked into a relegation battle last season. And don't start with the "we've got no choice, it's the banks" nonsense either. -
I don't rate him and don't think there was any point in signing him particularly (although his goal against norwich may prove vital). However, whilst reserving the right to get frustrated and slag him off during games, my considered opinion post-event is that I will not judge him fully until I see him play upfront with a decent strike partner. Same goes for McGoldrick. Unfortunately, I doubt this will happen any time soon.

On another point - the reason Palace "played ugly" was because they found themselves 2-0 up without breaking into a sweat and, having played two days earlier, there was no point busting a gut to put on a show when it was glaringly obvious they could win at a canter.
-
Yeah, but they don't have a Revolutionary New Coaching Set-Up so the joke's on them.
-
A subtle distinction, I'll grant you

It's better than some of the bad stuff last year for about 20 minutes a match. It's nowhere near as good as under Redknapp or Burley prior to last season or some of the performances last season under Pearson.

Down banal man, down!
-
I've made some amendments for you.

I forgot about that actually.... well if Derby would let us have him for 20% of his wages... why not?! I'd rather have Stern back though TBH (and a new manager).
-
He's on about £20k a week! Can't see it personally.
-
I still think he has more ability than most of our players and could be a very good player at this level. He would benefit by playing upfront with a strike partner who knows how to be a striker in professional league football.
-
I reckon he might bail soon...
-
I thought James was one of our best players tonight (until the error!). I feel really sorry for him though. This crazy experiment is seriously threatening to damage his career prospects.
-
Ok - I thought he just said he'd "done some research" but I may not have been listening carefully! I would be surprised if Lowe had said that, as it would kind of fly in the face of his entire raison d'etre at the moment and would point the finger of blame squarely at himself.
-
Agree generally, however he did unfortunately choose to miss-control the one good ball he was played by Wotton. He was much more dangerous than any of the other attacking players though.
-
Whilst I respect his comments, I think the dodgy system may have something to do with that as well, however we were so slow to the second ball today. Where was the interview, out of interest?
-
Even if that were true, which it may be, then that is precisely why you should play a simple formation. One that is capable of producing simple goals from straightforward basics (see Crystal Palace tonight for an example of a slow, fat bloke achieving success).... not a complete shower that is threatening to wreck people's careers before they've even got going.
