I would be very surprised if a professional services firm is leaking misleading snippets to the media. It's just not done. As for the creditors, I imagine they realise that getting a decent return is more important to them than buying Saints is to the investor. Evidently, this is an opportunistic acquisition by someone who isn't going to be held over a barrel. If they were desperate to buy Saints they would have done so previously. That and the fact that the price would have been agreed prior to Lynam making his announcement, as WSS says above.
