Firstly, Man U and Chelsea play nothing like the same system we do. Secondly, he has just admitted that it is a crock of **** anyway without proper wingers and has implied that Holmes, Dyer and Smith are the only people likely to do that job.... makes you wonder why we've been playing it recently then.

Bloody lovely stuff. First stumbled upon this by chance in a small hotel bar in the Loire valley. Happy to see Tesco and Asda sell it now. I plan to drink some over Christmas

I'm not sure if this has escaped you but most people can't afford to do that. If you're referring to Crouch then it is one thing to say "buy some shares" it's another to actually do that. Even if he bought out every share apart from Lowe, his cronies and Wilde he would only have 54% ish. Enough to control the board but not enough to stop the pathetic squabbling.
-
Do you not remember him trying to broker a consensus before Wilde's initial coup? You really do come out with some gash and using phrases like "pikey", "hedgehog muncher" (WTF?!) and "one brain cell" make you look like a prize imbecile.
-
Fine. But why does that deserve its own article when the key issues discussed at the meeting are ignored?
-
Absolutely. How anyone can deny that we needed to appoint Poortvliet and sign Pulis, Gasmi, Pekhart, Forecast, Smith, Robertson is beyond me.
-
Bizarre isn't it?! Can we expect an OS article every time a fan gets nicked?
-
Clearly Crouch didn't vote then. Bit odd IMO.
-
Yeah, that's just what you need when you're knackered isn't it! We're actually witnessing something pretty sad in many respects this season. I just hope he manages to get himself a nice comfy job back in Holland when this is all over.

Do you live in America Tim?

I don't think anyone's "turned" on Lallana. They are just frustrated that he rarely produces anything of note during matches considering he has a lot of ability. This, added to a propensity to miss easy chances and hit pea-rollers is annoying. Add to the fact that he is playing in silly positions (which may actually be the manager's fault - frankly, who knows what he is "supposed" to be doing), and you have an annoying mix. It is annoying.

1 Given that the club is teetering on the brink of existence and in dire need of some experienced players up front, would you and Mr Cowen consider making an interest free loan of £563,000, the amount you received when you so graciously stepped down for the common good last time, to the business in exchange for preference shares or some other profits based repayment mechanism, or heavens to Bettsy, with no strings attached. After all, it is the least you can do. 2. Is it sensible business practice to seek to prop up a failing company by reducing the quality of its output and freezing its product prices whilst relying on customer footfall and expenditure remaining constant? 3. Do you have any ideas, even a half-baked ill-thought out one as to how to increase revenue? Anything? Just something to put out there. 4. What does Chris Iwelumo think of your chairmanship? 5. Do you think the club would be better with a full time board? 6. Given that the football manager is arguably the most important person at any football club, is it a false economy to sack a popular and progressive manager in order to appoint a cheap replacement? 7. What do you think Michael Wilde offers to the board by way of expertise? 8. Is it ever acceptable to wear a paisley tie with a striped shirt?

That's unlucky - it's the best thing I've seen at SMS this season by a mile. Watched it float in with a sort of macabre automatism. It was class.

"I'm trying to sign Dion Dublin".

He'll probably be on the phone to Chris Iwelumo.

Did anyone understand what JP was saying after the match??

I don't think he can be acused of ruining the careers of Wigley, Sturrock and Gray, all of whom seem to be doing pretty well for themselves. He is an inept **** though. -
Some small things that could make a big thing...

Support was terrible. Presumably because most people there are disillusioned and are looking for something to reignite their passon for an entity which is not the one they used to love anymore. I decided not to bother going to Reading or Man U after witnessing that unless there is some top-down change before then. -
If Lowe really cared for SFC he would make himself available for Abuse Sessions, whereby 10 minutes airtime is auctioned off each week for him to sit in front of the cameras dressed as a duck whilst the highest bidder gets to lay into him (verbally of course). This could then be played on the big screens before matches as a "pep-talk" for the crowd. I would be inclined to go more often if this happened.

Some sort of Saints Shareholders' Trust might be useful?!

So you think there is nothing we can do? The question is simple: "Is the current manager getting the maximum out of the players?" If not, and given that he is leading them rapidly downwards in terms of both league position and performance level and has been doing so for a period of months, surely he should be removed?
-
You can withdraw a proxy at any time. I would be very surprised if those guys have any sort of binding legal agreement, they all just like to sit around together over a glass of wine and pretend to be important.

I can't believe there is a single person who still defends the "JP was an appointment of economic necessity and Lowe's grand strategy was a plan of economic necessity" argument. You may think these choices were laudable in principle, but face it, they are rubbish in reality. Lowe was blinded by the fact we produced Walcott and Bale at roughly the same time and believed the academy could produce £10m worth of talent every season. A good manager = more home wins = for argument's sake, 2,000 or so extra supporters (?) = circa £40k extra income per match >>> wages of better manager easily pay for themselves. It's obvious. Anyone can see it. The only conclusion is that Lowe must have honestly thought this current set-up would do well ..... or he has darker plans in mind. As soon as Lowe sacked Pearson you knew he had learnt nothing and was on one of his usual ego trips. He has ruined the club with a further litany of incidents of shameful and pompous mismanagement.
