Remember it used to be straight two up - two down. Guess who were the very first victims from the old division one when it changed to three up - three down?

As mentioned above they'll get 30M plus a fresh 4 years of parachute payments (which is bullshit - if a team only stays up one season they should only get 1 year of parachute payment, especially in the Cheat's case). I doubt Chinny will bother buying a whole squad, other than a bunch of youngsters and cheap rejects to fulfill the fixtures. Even if they finish on a lower points total than Derby he'll still be laughing all the way to the bank.

Let's hope history repeats itself. It would be particularly painful for the few this time, since their loan shark owner will most likely pull the plug if he can't get his grubby hands on the extra parachute payments coming from a quick return to the PL. He only funded their excessive wages this year in a gamble to go up. Further details can be found in the Cheats Takeover Saga thread over in the lounge.

Question for the Negative-Thinkers after the Colchester result
Dark Munster replied to dune's topic in The Saints
Gonorrhea = Lose against Walsall and beat fellow promotion hopefuls Colchester. Syphilis = Beat Walsall and lose against fellow promotion hopefuls Colchester. -
Colchester 0 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Me too. I just hope not getting CMS doesn't turn out to be the difference between us getting promoted versus them going up at our expense. -
Adkins: "There is scope to dip into the loan market"

Slight understatement. I forecast a disaster if that happens. -

I'm having this nightmare that CMS will score the winner against us in the playoff final. -
With Forecast on the bench on Saturday, the 3 top three priorities are: 1) A goalkeeper 2) A goalkeeper 3) A goalkeeper

If they don't go up this season I reckon they'll plummet down faster than a lift whose cable has snapped.

They are living a charmed life. Injustices Tart and Mann, favours from both the PL and FL, the bumbling incompetent HMRC, getting away with blatant cheating left, right and centre, etc. Even this season with their "paper thin" squad they've had remarkably few serious injuries. One could almost believe they've had a pact with the devil, except that it's hard to believe the devil would stoop so low as to do business with the cheating, lying bastards.
-
Ah yes, but if we lose our Russian roulette it would only be a temporary and annoying interruption in our rise to where we belong (in the league where we spent 27 continuous years, without cheating to stay there). The Russian roulette for your lot, if you're lucky enough to get to that point, will be with a gun having 4 bullet chambers, 3 of them filled. Brown pants time for the few. It's the hope that kills you.

If Davis gets injured .......

Well, well, well. 5 wins on the trot. The few's hopes must be raised now. How many more before Corpse Whore comes back here to start gloating? Can their "paper thin" squad achieve the impossible and make the playoffs, giving them a 1/4 shot of postponing, for a season, being dismantled and shut down? The excitement mounts.

I'll settle for a draw at this stage.

Saints will score in the next 5 minutes.

Tonight has 0-0 written all over it?

Saints v. Leeds: One win each against each other last season, with Leeds only finishing 3 points above Saints (if you exclude the 10 points deducted).

I've corrected Lumpitt's answer.

Chinny only bankrolled them this season because he was gambling on going up. With that plan all but dead, I doubt he'll do anything more than keep them on life support until he has sucked every last penny possible out of the rotten corpse. And Cotterill's bleatings about a "paper thin" squad is unlikely to change his mind: that was obvious during the last window. Of course with 4 wins on the trot there is still a glimmer of hope for the few, but that will only make it more painful if they come close at the end of the season, close but no cigar (and if so, Chinny will be kicking himself for throwing in the towel too soon. )

Don't forget the icing on the cake: Tal Ben Haim.

Oh dear, Mack seems oblivious to the fact that if Cheats FC don't go up this year then Chinny is most likely to pull the plug. But as they say, ignorance is bliss.

He's baaaaack. Take cover Skates!
