  1. VVD would be superb signing , I watch him a lot and there is much more to his game than just another central defender , he is great at bringing the ball out from the back , has a very strong and accurate free kick and a killer with the head at corners. If koeman makes just one more signing he should make sure its Virgil. Plus the age is perfect and he would improve in the prem IMO
  2. Sorry no, That was Hampden Park , Celtic Park did the opening ceromony Huge screen across one stand to dismantle
  3. Thanks , Any sign of more incomings
  4. I thought this thread was for comments on the Osvaldo / Taider swap , not for all the SWF financial experts to dissect the clubs finances !! Any more news on Taider
  5. Statements of clarification on the whole situation at the club are needed immediatly , Over the last couple of weeks the silence has been deafening and it is now time for some real honesty from Kat , Les and the rest of the board at SMS. If we have Financial problems and need to cut our cloth , Fine , But tell us dont keep doing everything as if the supporters don't excist. The Situation with regard to player sales is unbelievable for a club that finished 8th in the prem just a few months ago , Come on SMS Face up to the supporters whilst you still have some.
  6. Just Take Liverpools £20 mill and give it straight to Celtic for Virgil Van D and Fraser Forster , Believe me it will be the best deal Saints have ever done. A straight swop Lovren for them to is unbelievably Wieghted in Saints favour
  7. As I understand it TADIC can play out wide, similar to Lallana last year plus he is a better passer / crosser alledgelly
  8. I Think stephen would be the first to admit that he has benefited greatly from the coaching of Mauricio and his coaching team. He was always a good steady midfielder but this year has blossomed into a really top class premier player like many others in the team. Glad to see him getting much deserved praise and recognised by the fans for the graft he does in a very good team.
  9. Sell him for what we paid and get in Jordan Rhodes for 10 million, overseas and overvalued players we dont need Also same with Ramirizes, get rid now and look at youngbritish midfielders .

To Old , To Tempermental , Disruptive Character , No thanks we have much better coming through.
  11. Great Post Gemmel , Really enjoyed that. I watched Sky yesterday afternoon and Charlie Nicholas was generous in his praise for us and when they showed the Stats at the end of the game i felt that we maybe should have won it, but was happy with the point. Then watched it on match of the day last night and could not believe how those few minutes highlights made it look as if Man U completely overwhelmed us, no question where the BBC bias leans towards. Gemmel you have redressed the true balance for me ,Thanks
  12. Really Sad to read this , I was at school with Pat and played football with him and his brother Jack in my early years. Also remember his dad getting us the American Comics , Superman , Bugs Bunny etc when he was on the liners. Good Family RIP Pat.
  13. It will be interesting to see the team selection for this week, Common sense says stick with the same as Anfield but in view of these rumours today I think maybe Lambert is out and Ramirez in. Just my feeling
  14. All joking aside I for one am concerned about pooch's capabilities
  15. Totaly Agree, If we are paying him the reported amounts give him a squad number and let him train with the rest. he just might show something training with better players and who knows we just might need him if Injuries& suspensions kick in.
  16. Well Done Rickie , First time I have jumped out of the armchair at a England Goal since I cant remember when , Probably the 1966 world cup Final
  17. Excellent appraisal , Spot on.
  18. Excellent Evaluation , I think you are spot on.
  19. I thought we were looking for someone to score us goals , A area we failed on towards the end of last season.
  20. Sorry MLG I think you are totally wrong in dismissing Hooper because he is not a £20 mill player , What he is is a proven goalscorrer / poacher the likes of which Saints dont have in the squad , I am not saying buy him instead of a £20 mill man , I am saying we should buy him because he WILL score goals. He has scored goals ,lots of them where ever he has played, He is just a natural goal scorrer. Even if we used him from the bench when we were needing a goal he would be worth us signing for the fee's being discussed. If you get the chance have a look at this years Scottish cup final at the first 2 goals that Hooper scored and tell me who in the saints present squad would be capable of scoring goals like them , SRL ?, Maybe, But nobody else IMO
  21. If NC is half as canny as I think he is he should step in quick and use Billy Sharp as a tempter to Celtic in bringing Gary Hooper to St Marys. Hooper is on the verge of going to QPR they say for £4million which for a striker of his ability is crazy. I am sure if we offered them say 3.5 + BS they would jump at it. I also think Gary would prefer to play with us in the PL rather than the championship, he is after being seen in England to promote his dream of a place in next years world cup. IMO Hooper would be a great signing for Saints he is a out and out goal scorer who would be a massive addittion to our squad especially with VW now here.
  22. I would love to see Hooper , I just know that he and wamyama would be Awsome for us. plus Hooper would love playing of a big guy like SRL. He may not be the big name that some crave but he sure as hell would score goals in our set up.
  23. No, but I have a pal who works at Celtic ( cant say more than that ) , and I rang him a wee while ago and he said nothing to say officially , but unofficially looks like St Marys is his destination. I am NITK , just repeating information given to me with in the last hour.
  24. My claim is that I have more knowledge on the performances of Victor Wanyama having watched him for most of last season than your so called mate who saw one game he played and doesn't seem to have a very clear memory of it. I also saw that game and the problems were throughout the team it was not all down to wanyama who , yes probably had his worst game of the season. Every proffessional player has nightmare games, even the likes of Messi etc. I repeat Wanyama is a very exciting prospect who would do well at St Marys , IMHO. End Of.
  25. Hence the reason I have a low post total because the minute you add a opinion on here that doesn't fit with the big bully boys way of thinking they are looking to put you down. With whom does not matter , you have my opinion on a player that I have watched on a regular basis , Your mate you say has given you second hand knowledge on a performance on one game and believe me that is a very distorted view on that game.
