  1. I would suggest you find a mate with a lot better football knowledge , As someone who saw Wanyama play in most of his games last year including Champions league I will tell you and any one else interested that he is a fantastic prospect. He is a great offensive and defensive midfielder capable of scoring goals, especially from corners. He can also be a first class centre half , better than anything saints had in that position last year. I predict that if we manage to sign him he will take the PL by storm next year and within 2 to 3 years we will have a player worth at least twice his present value. IMO 12 million buys us one of the best prospects in world football and if we lose him over a few thousand to a agent or whatever we are being very shortsighted.
  2. Having watched Wanyama for Celtic it would have to be him for me , IMO his potential is enormous and he could take the PL by storm next season. He is such a versatile player , Strong running defensive and offensive midfielder who is capable of getting on the end of corners for goals, also plays a great game at centre half if needed. For me a player in the mould of Toure or Viera. Still very young and a bit raw but will be a great player in a year or two. I am also happy to see either or both of the other two sign for us.
  3. All a matter of opinion, but as someone who has seen Hooper play a lot for Celtic I think he is exactly what Saints need. A proven Goal Poacher well capable of the EPL, which is exactly why Norwich & others want him.
  4. A lot of reports here this morning that Norwich are close to signing Hooper for 4.5Million , At that he is a absolute gift. Come on NC get your act together Hooper would be a perfect foil for SRL. A similar bid plus a makewieght player such as De Ridder , Chaplow etc would surely bring hooper to St Marys.
  5. Wanyama most definately , He is very good now and will get even better.
  6. I watched Victor Wanyama in 80% of Celtics games last season and if Saints manage to secure his Signature it will be a massive show of intent. For my money Wanyama Will be the Next Big thing in the EPL, Viera , Toure , Victor has the potential to be as good if not better. If Saints have real intent of aiming for Europe they should offer Celtic £18 mill for a Wanyama & Hooper Double. Worth every penny.
  7. All of this is what makes tomorrow very interesting , I think without a doubt we have better players than Reading but who has the most motivational Manager ? I would settle for a point but I think Pochettino needs to come home with the three.
  8. And that says it all
  9. You wont see the best from Gaston untill he is 100% fit and he hasn't been all season , It will come.
  10. Yoshida has improved beyond belief from his early games due mainly to playing games in the prem , It took him a few games to get the feel of it but now I think he is one of the best defenders in the prem. I know we are playing well at the moment so difficult to change to much without injuries but I think Tad Lee could be like Yoshida and do a good job with some prem experience,he has been on the bench recently so give him some match time.
  11. Any one know why Forren wasn't involved tonight ?
  12. I dont disagree with you but the bottom line is _ Cortese's Ball, Cortese Rules , as I say only time will tell if he is right or wrong
  13. I am niether Pro or Anti Cortese but the fact is he is the man in charge, the man who the buck stops with. Obviously he thinks this is the right decision and only time will tell if he is right or wrong. IMO Nigel has done a great job for us and we should be eternally grateful to him. But now it is time to move on with the new man, We should support him and see what happens in this second half of the season. If we get relegated then Cortese got it wrong and that is then time to vent the anger, If we survive and maybe finish in the top half of the table then all this will be justified and again Cortese would have got it right. Love or hate Cortese it doesn't matter because so far his record with the Saints is pretty impresive. Time to stop the anger and support the new man and the team. Thanks for everything Nigel, hope you are soon working & winning again.
  14. If it goes that long we are better looking elsewhere , We need a centre half now, to many points at stake before final day
  15. Boruc should be in against Arsenal , He is a big game player and his experience would be needed against the gooners, Kelvin is a liability these days and is probably having sleepless nights just thinking about Arsenal and Gazza is not yet experienced enough for this sort of game. Boruc will perform in a game like this in front of the cameras. Quite honestly if we dont play him I cant see us getting anything so it is worth the gamble IMO.
  16. Has to be Boruc for me , He must be getting fitter now and has the experience.
  17. If 100% fit Boruc starts at Everton with Gazza on the bench. Sort of match that is made for Boruc to display his ability,he is a very confident(some say Cocky) goalkeeper and will love the pressure cooker atmosphere at Goodison.
  18. BO££OCKS , Celtic fans rated him very highly and very dissappointed when he moved on , he was hounded out of Glasgow by certain factions because of his religious beliefs, As with the majority of Polish he is a strong catholic but that has nothing to do with his great ability as a Footballer. IMO a great signing for the club, top class international Goalie.
  19. Never really got off the ground , Celtic always wanted Fraser Foster from Newcastle but took a while to thrash out a deal , Craig Gordon was I think just used as a lever or back up if the Foster deal stalled, I dont think Gordon was really a serious option. IMO Craig Gordon is a lot better than KD , but Artur Borac is better than either. If nothing happens on the Goalkeeper front this week I hope that NA gives Gazza a chance , definately worth a go as he cannot do any worse than KD did at the Emirates
  20. Or get NC to offer him a assistant Managers position, Gary has all the prem experience in the world and knows what is required.
  21. A Very Very Good Call , If we dont get hold of a experienced class goalkeeper then IMHO it is curtains no matter how many great outfield players we have. Sorry Kelvin you have been great over the last two seasons but Premier Class you ain,t
  22. I know nothing with regard to the world of high finance but I do not believe this deal will fall through simply because Bolongna cant square there loan with the Italian Banks unless they have guarantees from saints. Why dont SFC pay them the whole amount by taking out there own loan from a UK bank and repay the UK bank at the same rate as they would be paying to Bologna or is that too simple. As I say I know nothing about finance but it does not seem very sensible to loose this deal over such a minor detail as method of payment.
  23. I Agree so +1
  24. It is amazing how many first games of the season end in draws , so I am predicting a 2-2.
  25. Fantastic Idea , nothing better than to start the day with a good laugh , Thanks the saint in Winchester
