I dont understand why so many on here use the phrase "He wont move South" , You can drive from the north to the south of England in under 5 hours and fly in less than a hour, Reading some of the Carp on here you would think Southampton was in South America . it was repeatedly said on the J Rod thread that he wanted to stay "Op North", well "J" blew that out of the water, yet still a lot of guys think it is a problem for attracting a keeper. If the deal is right and the keeper likes the set up he will come from anywhere......Rant over , Back on subject, IMO Craig Gordon is as good as any and will not cost a fortune. He has been a bit unlucky with injury last season but he is a cracking keeper at a good age and will still improve yet.

If Gully gets his early effort on target instead of just wide and Sharp converts the Pen then we are 2 up within 15 minutes and game over. As it was we gave Blackpool all the imputus and confidence and they made full use of it. They also were more mobile than us and as I have noticed before any team that close us down quickly usually prosper. We did miss RL badly for his hold up play and bringing others into the game, Sharp is not a Ricky,(And I am not talking about the penalty),he is more of a poacher and cannot lead the line like Ricky. Looking at the team overall yesterday I wouldn't have given any off them pass marks , A very bad day at the office that might prove to be a lesson well learnt

A afternoon draw followed by a saints win in the late kick off would be perfect.

I actually think our key game is this Saturday against Doncastor if we win that and keep the gap to Reading & Wham it really piles the pressure on the two of them for the following Saturday and IMHO whichever of them loose would be destined for third , We also will know that result before playing Blackpool where I think a draw would be a great result......................... I was only 5 years old at the time but distinctly remember my father and grandfather being distraught about the non promotion , Both of them were bandsman with the Albion Band and played prior to games and at HT , I sat on the fence under the west stand in the bands pen and gained my love of all things saints from those early years. I dont think the same fate will apply to our modern team, Football is a much different game now and if we stick to the one game at a time policy we will be OK.

Dont understand why Nige wants to keep swapping about the midfield , Providing they are all fit , Chaplow , Cork , Schniederlin , Lalana should be automatic starts everygame. They give the team much more balance and add a lot more to our attacking play. I would also say Billy Sharp-- The jury is out!! Still think we will be ok but Nige needs to realise this is the time of the season for a settled team , Keep rotation to a minimum.
