Political Correctness has gone mad Here in Orkney there is a traditon called the blackening. the bride and bride groom a week before they get married are covered in molasses , feathers etc as aprt of the ceromany . after which the lasses sit in the back of a pick up truck and drive around town banging drums etc. The blokes do likewise. Any way the polis stopped the driver (he had already stopped and everyone disembarked the back of the pick up truck) when they then summoned the driver and issued him with a £60 fine and 3pts on his licence. The reason he had not ensured the guys in the back of the truck were not wearihg seat belt and had breached health and safety regulationss. The polis were up from sooth and were not aware of orkney traditions. Anyway this angered most folk up here and subsequently the polis have rescinded their decision. basically they are embarrased by the stupidity of their two officers being ultra politically correct.

With ankle injuries the medics tend to wait for 48 hours before further examination due to the amount of swelling bruising etc. once this subsides then it is more easily to detect a ligament tear or hairline crack .
