Instead of blaming all in sundry just except that occasionally we have no control of weather . The news regularly refer to thiis is the worse weather since x or for 60 years etc These things happen . I don't believe it's anything to do with carbon footprints etc just something that happens etc The fields in Orkney are well saturated and under water . We have had sustained high winds up here fior the past 2 months . This is just a normal weather pattern in these parts It makes be laugh when the news reader scare the wits out of you guys about the winds being bad Live up here and you will know what a real gale force wind is

Where arê the animal welfare groups ? all those voles , hedgehogs etc who have drowned in these floods . I don't hear any rescue being undertaken . People are not the only ones to suffer these floods .

Yes it is a shame that places are flooded, I know it can happen very quickly but how many folk actually move their belonings upstairs etc? I hear BQ in reading is somewhat flooded. I dont know if its the shop or the car park around it. Dredging may help I dont know but some other factures have also had an impact. I was hearing one lady in berkshire saying that the problem was not the dredging of which ever river she is near to but because previously engineers whoever. diverted or drained land in another area, so that houses could be built on in that particular site, while that area is no loger a flood plane , the water still has to go somewhere. and as we now withness it is flooding areas that were not previously susceptable to floods. So if you divert rivers elsewhere to avoid flooding the surely you are ultimately only moving the problem elsewhere This weather phenomenen is not new , it will happen time and time again

They are my words for being roughed up . its was a very physical search and the first time I had ever been searched , they took every thing out of my hand luggage and shoved it on the floor . I will know what to expect next time. The same happened to the other middle aged guy as well. He also commented about the aggresive nature of the search I thought they were looking for something else and was suprised when they said they thought one of us had been smoking Thats life, I was in the wrong place at the wrong time . Good to see policeman keeping the streets and airports safe from would be smokers:p

Lord duckhunter It wasnt exactly an apology as, just an explanation as why they caried out such a physical search. At least they acknowledged that they carried out the search unlike so,e situtuations plebgate when at least one of the policmen blantently lied . As for meeting the head honcho , no thanks but 4 policeman and 2 airport staff needed to check if someone was smoking in an airport, To me that was overkill I was very very annoyed a the time as I had only just arrived from heathrow and went straight to the loo to do a puncheon. Next few seconds I am in the process of undoing my pants and then a massive knock on the door. I thought it must have been puncheon desparate for the loo . but know the police send open the door open it now. There i was trying desparatly trying to get my pants up. talk about getting caught with yer trousers down . I was more annoyed about the lack of dignity i was given . Tossers

Lord duckhunter I explained what my problem is with some police from my own experiences . Yes they are easy prey from certain groups as are the armed forces, nurses etc . Just look at the Staffordshire The police apologised to me for the rough handling of me and another passenger at Aberdeen airport having been accused of smoking in the gents toilets . It was a mute apology as they said they were only doing their job and that they class smoking as a serious offence in side airports . It was that serious 4 police bods including an inspector and sgt plus 2 airport security . I have never smoked and never will . And then when I went to the aide of a female being assaulted . I'm told that it was my own fault for getting beat up by the 4 thugs for doing what I think any law abiding citizen would do . But not according to Thames valley police .

Just had some girlfriends contact me . They were in Aberdeen watching the Scotland vs England 6 nations . England won 63 nil. . They said it was the worst rugby they had ever seen absolutely pathetic from both sides . Hardly any proper tackles and the scrums were farcical . Does women's rugby that merit six nations status on the same level as the men's international ? Mind you the crowd was extremely small no wonder it was in Aberdeen

I would rather have our police forces than many countries in the world but some policeman are not good role models . A bit like some of the rogue stewards you get at football matches .
