  1. It just looked the same as every other car that year but with a different paint job!
  2. Not a bad choice but the 72 is nicer! That was a nice era in racing. It's not everyones cup of tea but the Ferrari 312 T5 is one of my all time favourites as well. Mainly due to the fact I spent many, many Sunday afternoons as a young kid watching my all-time hero Gilles Villeneuve battling wheel to wheel with the Renaults. I have never been affected so bad by the death of someone I've never met than when Gilles met his untimely end at Spa in 1982. It was like losing a close relative. I cried my eyes out. Here is the best F1 duel of all time; And here is the accident at Spa that sadly took Villeneuves life (warning - it is quite graphic); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74Z8V8RvRX0&NR=1
  3. Just been having this discussion with the old man and we were trying to agree on the best looking F1 car of all time. I always come back to the Lotus 72 in JPS livery...
  4. It's better if you Google your name on an image search. Far more fun. Mine always cracks me up. Who the feck is this guy?
  5. When he's good, he's really good and the last 2 games have proved that he looks as though he could play a major hand in whether we finish this season as a Championship team. His partnership with Saga has given us a front line who look to have chance of keeping us up.
  6. I reckon Palace could get dragged into it.
  7. Prior to the last 2 games I would have definately said down. I'm still not 100% sure we have enough to save ourselves but the last 2 games have certainly given me a glimmer of hope at last. Even the faintest glimmer can only be a good thing! We have had many good perfomances this season without the results and maybe the tide is about to turn. We can but hope...
  8. Probably the most sensible and well measured post I have read in a long, long while on this general subject.
  9. I don't post on here very often now because it's the same old crap on every thread. It starts with a genuine point and descends into a slanging match between the usual suspects. Christ, it's even happened on this one. If I had my way then I'd ban some posters on here purely on the basis that their presence is negative and destructive. Obviously, in the name of fairness and freedom of speech that will never happen. Until things improve at the club it will get no better. Things are so totally and utterly crap for the club at the moment that it's obviously going to reflect in fans attitudes. Good times at SFC are a long, long way off so get used to it!
  10. That's funny, I was going to use that Jay Leno quote as well. It made me chuckle!

    New car

Lol at people suggesting an older, leggier car that's no better than the Mondeo in the first place! Badge snobbery is pointless unless you have a fashionito complex.

I'd go for 12 month old Mondeo Titanium X TDCi Estate in black with Privacy glass and 19's. Gorgeous looking, economical, great to drive and hugely practical. Tom Ford ran one for 12 months in Top Gear magazine and he rates it as one of the best cars he's ever owned, by some distance.
  13. Don't get me started on this one! The Prius is verging on pointless really. The hybrid technology is mildly interesting but you'd have do an better job of saving the environment in a Mini One D with stop-start or, as Ponty says, something like a Polo Blue Motion (or even the BMW 118d with stop-start I believe) To be fait StL, they did clearly make the point on Top Gear that they were no way suggesting the M3 was more economical. They were illustrating the fact that it's how you drive that makes the difference and not what you drive. I was overtaken on someone on the motorway the other day in a Prius that must have been going the best part of 100 mph. Go Figure... Cars like the Prius will make absolutely no impact to the environment what-so-ever. They exist only to make people who wear hemp trousers (and Hollywood film stars) feel better about themselves when they turn the ignition key, or press the start button, in the morning.
  14. Sterns was like a 'large-scale Manor'. It was the same kind of setting as the Manor but much grander. The main underground dance floor was awesome. The bass used to blow up the staircase as you walked down to it!

I really enjoyed it personally. Better than fantasy football!!
  16. Serves you right for driving a Metro! :smt048
  17. I'd have to agree with you there. The Manor was fantastic, especially back in the early days. Sterns was also amazing, (especially the Interdance All-Nighters) though that was always a rather expensive treat!
  18. Oh yes. And Kev's House, which went on to be Remix.
  19. My favourite Cigar related one!
  20. I was just contributing to the TV ads thread and posted something about Charly by the Prodigy. It got me thinking back to the first time I heard it at the legendary club that was 'The Basement'. The Basement was probably the first proper 'hardcore' dance club in town and I have many fine (if slightly distorted!) memories of the place. Did anyone else ever go there or does anyone remember any great clubs from years gone by? You'd probably need to be comfortably into your 30's to remember the Basement by the way!
  21. Who could ever forget this one? The inspiration for one of the greatest dance tracks of all time; I'm probably showing my age now!
  22. I will always go and watch Saints. Premiership or Conference, Lowe or Crouch, I will always go along and support my team. I suspect I'm in the minority but I wouldn't turn my back whatever the political situation...
  23. Do we really need another thread like this? Please if you have a generic anti/pro-Lowe rant then there are plenty of other threads on the forum to contribute to.
  24. Musically, a total legend.
  25. I've got the same dilemma Baj but after much research I think I'm going to go for the Curve. I know quite a few people who have got either this or the Bold and I've not heard a bad word said about either. Avoid the Storm at all costs though. The touch screen is utter rubbish by all accounts and very difficult to use.
