I suspect he'd heard of him as he was an ex Dutch International. Those were his exact words so read of them what you will.
-
My Dad interviewed him this week for the program and Saiejs told him that despite playing in the Netherlands he had "never come across Poortvliet" in his time there! If Dutch league players aren't familiar with him what chance did we ever have!

Maybe my trip to Swansea was a dream earlier this season! More of a nightmare maybe.

I'm sorry but we're not able to make any posts stickies on this issue (whatever our personal feelings!). As an independant forum we need to maintain an unbiased view on political issues within the club as I'm sure you all appreciate. If you wish to ensure this subject has maximum visibility you'll have to keep bumping it I'm afraid. -

He was just a thug of a player who had no answer when people got past him other than to chop them down. That game was far from friendly but only really because of him!

That HP is a good buy. Just brought a couple for customers. A good laptop for the money without a doubt. Hmmm. Aluminium laptops. Another great example of design over practicality. I remember some of the other manufacturers experimenting with this a few years back. Great until you drop one. That's when you learn about the shock absorbabilty of metal and the cost of replacement auminium case panels. Still, I supose you could use a panel beaters. Very nice if you want them to look pretty sat on your desk but not practical if you want it to be mobile.

Your only option is to get is refurbished which will cost you around £50. Make sure you go for a reputable company though. If it's not done properly you'll have cosmetic problems a few years down the line. And in future avoid hitting kerbs!

Believe me, I tried! I was furious. Almost felt like going round her house and 'equaling things out' on her car with a lump hammer!

The same happened to me Baj. Someone pulled out of a junction in front of me and to avoid them I swerved, went across the road, up a kerb and smashed an alloy, mashed the tyre and bent the suspension. She was very appologetic and gave me her details. I then get contacted by my insurance company saying she claimed I was at fault as I was driving too fast (which wasn't the case). Result - as there were no witnesses it went 50-50 so I lost my no claims and had to pay the excess. The irony is, if I'd just have smashed right into her drivers door, injuring her in the process, I'd have been alright. It sucks, I tell you.

I've rung it a few times, the most memorable being when my car went up in smoke on the M27! The funniest one was when my missus rang 999 because she looked out of the kitchen window and saw a hooded chav trying to bolt crop the padlock on our shed door... at 1.30pm... on a Saturday afternoon... in the summer. She shouted at him and he pegged it. If that wasn't bad enough the police picked him up 20 minutes later in Millbrook, casually strolling down the street still carrying the large red bolt croppers.

I'm not questioning whether or not you can have an opinion Alps. Everyone has the right to one of those. I'm questioning how you can directly disagree with peoples views on a specific performance when you have not seen it yourself. Also, I'm not really clear to just exactly what you are and who you represent? I can't be sure sure but you don't appear to be a fan or a supporter. You just appear to be somebody who has a view on the club and how it's run, and likes to come and argue it on a forum for the sake of it. Just occasionally it would be nice to see you contributing to a thread without resorting to contradiction or disagreement. You obviously feel the need to be seen as the pantomine villain on the forum and as such, you will always be treated as that. ''

Errr, no. I think people are right Alpine. Make the effort to go to an occasional game every season and other posters might actually give respectful replies to your views. How can you post remarks on the performance of the team when you've not attended the game? You are again giving people the impression that your interest lies not with the club, but with how you can best get the backs up of the other forum members. The fact you have the gall to wonder why you have such negative response to your persistent whinging is astounding. Funny, I was reading a story to me three year old last night which made me think of you. It was The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Now what was that thing called that resided under the bridge?

I don't really know how to respond to a post like this. Yep, it is a blessing he's out on loan but only because he's been injured and unable to play. When he's back to match fitness why in Gods name wouldn't we want him playing for us? Oh of course... Why would we need a quality striker when we're banging them in left, right and centre? No we're OK, we've got David McGoldrick... I've never been a big fan of Rasiak but I wish he'd come back at this moment in time!

Open up your processes (ctrl+alt+del) and look at the column marked CPU. See if any .exe processes are hammering the processor. Nothing in there should be running above 5 (except sytem idle which will probably be showing about 95 but ignore that). If there's anything running high then make a note of what it is and google it to see if there's a known problem with it. -
Some great driving but clearly shot in lots of takes. Would be even better if he did all that in one go without stopping and without any mistakes!

Good news Minty. Phil K and Simon are on board. Phil's looking forward to riding in taxis and asking you many, many questions!! Looks like we have plenty of potential players now, maybe even too many! Still I'm sure there will be drop outs nearer the time.
-
No, that's cool mate. I know we'd talked about it but I just wanted to make sure it was still happening.

I am planning on trying to get a SIFC Vets team together for WorldNet 2009 in Leeds. You'll need to be over 30 and up for a weekend of drinking, dossing in student halls and playing a few games of football! There's even the possibility of an ex Dutch u21 International pulling on his boots for us! Its in mid-July but I will post more details as and when I get them. Anyone who fancies it, register your initial interest here... Possible squad so far; Mik Dave Fox
