  1. I remember seeing that we had beaten Liverpool 4-1 thanks to (I think) Rumbelows. My dad wasn't happy as the parking ticker was about to run out and they very nearly left me behind. It was only about 5 miles walk to home so wouldn't have been the end of the world!
  2. How has Clubcall not been mentioned on this thread yet?! I remember phoning up to hear the latest gossip from the dell after reading a teaser on teletext and then having to try to explain to my parents why the phone bill was so high. The worst part of it was that there was never any ACTUAL news on it, just suggestions and insinuations!
  3. Apparently they were created by a youtube "Celeb" who makes money playing FIFA but that's as much as I know!
  4. That's the one-I was 12 at the time and blown away by the magic of the Dell! Norman Whiteside got both of their goals that day and I remember being excited to see then England captain Bryan Robson on the pitch and had to be told by my dad not to cheer him as he was playing for the opposition!!
  5. He scored both goals at the Dell v Man Utd in my first saints game-for that he will always be a hero of mine!
  6. I had to add BBC Wales to my Sky channel list using the website below. https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/rugby/international/a-step-by-step-guide-of-how-to-tune-bbc-wales-1.2310134 Just thought it was worth mentioning to avoid people finding this out at the last minute before kick off and missing some of the game!
  7. That's odd, I was going by the commentator on the stream who said that he had been booked for the challenge. Very odd if he wasn't as there was a fairly good argument for a red as he didn't relly attempt to play the ball at all! EDIT: Sky sports are saying that Dawson received a yellow but the PL website isn't so it seems that he "Got away with one" and Sky are incorrect!
  8. I thought that about the yellow at the time but it was confirmed later on that he been booked for the challenge.
  9. 26,041 according to sky sports
  10. To be honest, if he hadn't saved it the goal might not have been scored as the initial shot looked like it was going wide. His save slowed the ball and laid it on a plate for Ayew. I put that down as bad luck rather than poor goalkeeping!
  11. It is, a "Must win" game at Fratton Park tonight. I've asked if it being streamed anywhere but have yet to receive a reply sadly....
  12. Has nobody else noticed the irony of criticising someone's comprehension of English.....and then spelling "Apologise" incorrectly?!
  13. I hope she sees this as I'd hate for her to miss such an opportunity..... 🙄
  14. They use both words but only to distinguish between the laws of the game and competition rules. It is a common error though so you are not alone, players were the worst for it when I used to referee.
  15. That screams "I have never watched a game of League" if I'm honest. Union is incredibly pedestrian compared to League in my opinion as the latter doesn't have long periods where players are kicking the ball from end to end. I guess that is why 4 tries in union is considered worthy of a bonus point whereas in league it's considered a disappointment!
  16. At risk of upsetting you there no "Rules of the sport". There are however "Laws of the game", I assume that is what you were referring to?
  17. I wouldn't recommend trying any of the links if I'm honest, unless you are a fan of spam!
  18. With respect, Ings had expressed a desire to leave whereas Ward-Prowse has (to the best of our knowledge) not so the situations are not really comparable.
  19. He would be a very good fit, quick strong and scores goals. Currently playing for Sociedad , highly unlikely a move could ever materialise but you never know!

    Danny Ings

Was the misspelling of "Queue" (Or possibly "Cue") factored into the equation?!
  21. Well, several weeks (And several washes) later my '87 home shirt is still absolutely and the sponsor etc show no signs of falling off. My only gripe is that it was proving to be anything but a lucky shirt until the Leicester game, hopefully that will signify a change of fortunes.....
  22. Agree with this. I got as far as refereeing in the Wessex League/early rounds of the FA Vase/FA Cup before work got in the way & I still find myself trying to put myself in the referee's shoes when they make "Interesting" decisions......
  23. They look fairly robust but obviously time will tell. I tend to wash my shirts by hand and allow them to drip dry which helps keep them in a decent condition. I got an XL and it fits pretty well, not too tight or baggy etc. It's quite long too which is nice as I'm not a fan of revealing my belly to the world when I stretch upwards!
  24. Well my "Denmark" shirt arrived yesterday and I'm really happy with the quality and it takes me back to some happy times of being a saints fan. Hopefully it will become a new lucky shirt starting this weekend......
  25. Until recently it was Old Etonians (For obvious reasons) but nowadays the only time saints fans get really worked up is for blockbuster games against the mighty Doncaster Rovers; you are lucky to get home from one of these games alive if I'm honest.
