  1. I'm guessing he's suggesting it would be the"Saganowski effect" but I can't imagine Theo being that unprofessional if I'm honest. I think there are definitely plenty of positives compared to negatives with regards signing him permanently.
  2. I was cooking for a wedding and was going to watch the highlights that evening. One of the waiters told me the score and I thought he was winding me up!!
  3. I'll let you know after mine arrives. To be honest I've always washed my footy shirts by hand so have never had any problems with logos peeling etc (apart from the JPT transfer that the club added to existing shirts, that fell off almost straight away and had to be replaced!)
  4. Just bought myself one of the home shirts as it's possibly my favourite saints shirt of all time. It instantly takes me back to the Wallace brothers, Shearer, Le Tissier et al. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay but cheaper than ones I've seen on eBay etc recently.
  5. Shaka Hislop worked an internship at NASA while he was a student and I remember that Arjen De Zeeuw had a doctorate in medical science. I can imagine they fitted in perfectly at Portsmouth!
  6. There will be VAR at all of the quarter finals-David Coote is filling that role for our game. https://www.the-ra.org/appointments/emirates-fa-cup-quarter-final-match-official-appointments
  7. Games v Chelsea should start 0-1 When Giroud is playing for them!
  8. My guess is that it would be 1989 when we went something like 19 games without a win, a run that ended with a late Ruddock penalty v Newcastle. Hopefully this run won't go on for as long!
  9. My first game was back in 1987, a 2-2 draw against man utd with Danny Wallace scoring both for saints (Norman Whiteside got both their goals). I remember being spellbound as walked out on to the milton rd terrace and saw the hallowed turf for the first time-I was instantly hooked!
  10. I agree; we have had prime for a while now and it is well worth the cost. The addition of the football makes it even better value.
  11. VAR was only used in games where a PL side was at home for rounds 3,4 & 5 but for the quarters every game will use it I believe.
  12. This is the one I used, should be arriving in a couple of weeks..... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323855846695

    David Prutton

He punched Nigel Quashie after the Leeds 3-4 game, that's enough for me!!
  14. Their displeasure goes back even further than that, to the 1977/78 season when apparently saints and spurs contrived a goalless draw to see both teams promoted at the expense of the seagulls. I was only 3 at the time so have no memory of it but this is the Brighton take on the matter: https://thegoldstonewrap.com/2014/04/29/view-from-the-dell/
  15. It is definitely being shown on sportsmania so that means I will be able to watch it on the sofa with my daughter (She's only 8 months old but it is never too early to get them interested, especially as we live in a PO postcode!) Let's hope that the players "Want it" enough as this is possible the best chance for a fair while of going all the weay in a competition.....
  16. I remember 2 penalties were missed against Watford a few years ago but not sure if they were saved or not....
  17. There are a few on sports devil to choose from. Now all I need to do is find an excuse to get out of the barbecue we are going to this afternoon!!
  18. I use Exodus for fims and tv. It has everything from old to new-I was watching transformers (The cartoon, not the live action films!) earlier. As for sport I use Sports Devil which has never let me down........
  19. Ignore that link-they have switched to BT2 for some reason! Links are available here: http://www.streamhub.hk/watch/15897/AFC-Bournemouth-vs-Southampton-FC

  21. Apologies-it is something that, as a match official, always annoys me-it is amazing how many spectators, players and team officials do not realise there is a difference between the laws of the game and competition rules! Anyway I will stop now as this really has nothing to do with the topic in the thread......
  22. It is entirely possible that they would be aware that there are no such things as "rules" in football. They would more than likely, however, have an understanding of the Laws of the game which would put them ahead of the vast majority of football fans.....
