even though on the official forums 40% of people on their poll think it is? horses for courses i guess but i'm in the same camp as most people seem to be in that it is ****.

I would actually say i was now more a fan of Fifa yes. But i was once a massive hater of Fifa and a huge PES fan. PES5 will be my favourite football game i think, even more so then Kick Off or Sensible World of Soccer. Still play it on pc now and then. You are entitled to your opinion mate and i respect you for it. But i disagree in every aspect. The AI in Fifa is hardcore, it is realistic in it's movements and everything. PES10 is up there with the worst AI i have seen in any game not just a football game. In one of those reviews someone comments that if PES10 was say a first person action game the AI would be the equivelent of the opponents standing still while grenades, bombs and fire are coming at them and then looking at each other and then firing in the opposite direction to where your facing. It is so poorly coded. The corners in Fifa10 blow PES10 out of the water. You can now actually decide your own corners and put people wherever you want. But if you can't be arsed with that you can just do any type of corner you want with various button presses i.e 2 hits of A = ball hit to just outside the penalty box etc.. Crossing in PES10 does not exist. There are various types of crossing in Fifa10 with various differnt types of height and weight. You can cross one in with a bend or try a Rise type rocket that goes straight. Fifa09 had **** poor crossing as was like launching a baloon and hoping your player got to it before their keeper. So Fifa10 compared to 09 is a huge improvement in terms of crossing. PES10 gives you a delayed long cross, and that is it, no bend no nothing. I could go on but i wont. I read the PES forums, always have. Part of me knows that PES could be great again and each year i wonder if this is the year. But seriously most PES fans this year conceed it has pretty much died on it's ass. The forum is full of angry people ****ed at Konami. If you read the first page they have a poll and 39% state they are very unhappy in it. They have the mod of that site openly saying the game is ****, etc etc. Plus Konami have blocked magazines/websites from putting up reviews with embargoes. Rumour has it they have to wait until 15th october before they can do that. Now this is not rare it happens a lot but in this instance there is a reason for it. Early reports say PES10 is going to get savaged review wise. Eurogamer is one website that will most likely put up a very brutal review and the key thing here is they are the UK guy's. They know football, they know football games. Today should see the first review come out from Official Playstation mag and the few other ones Konami knows will give them a fair ride i.e IGN and Playstation Mag. Those websites normally favour Konami. But you don't need a review to see how far backwards the game has gone, you can see it for yourself. And this is why i dislike PES and like Fifa now. Because Fifa feels like how PES used to feel. The things we hated fifa for we liked in pes, the roles have reversed now so surely that logic must now be applied the other way? EA are trying to do their best, you can see how much they care about the game because of the sheer amount of work they do with the fans of it, they are fans of football themself. Where as Konami just lie about it all. Last year they said sorry for the poor game they made and would go back to start again. They didn't do that so will be interesting to hear what they have to say this time. The best thing PES can do is take it out of the annual list. Take it away and work on it as long as it takes. Because right now PES10 is playing like an old gen game, it is out of date and stale. Being released every year was the worst thing to happen to it. So as i said you are entitled to your opinion but in terms of progression Fifa is going forwards and is positive overall, where as PES seems the opposite to me, that is what i think.

Yeah i imagine their plan B is to sack Pardew and get Fergie in then hand him £50m so we can get out of league one. Come on guy's seriously, listen to yourselves. You wonder why people laugh at you and don't take you seriously is because of stuff like this. No club has a plan b going, they do not have things in the wing waiting to happen when someone get's fired etc.. Imagine if a manager found out the board had signed up xyz to takeover his job if it went wrong. If your job had that would you be happy? Obviously not. Right now our club has just come out of admin almost 2 months ago. With almost zero coaching staff left at the club. A huge exodus of players and bugger all scouts. It was just a name nothing more. ML has paid however much he has paid to buy the club and is taking it one step at a time. Anyone who listened to Nicola at the fans forum would of understood how busy he is and what his plans are. He is not going to risk having the same thing happen again and im sure 99% of people believe that is the way it should be. Look at Portsmouth and what happens when you spend un-wisely. The stats and figures show the club is improving, pointed out that a win tommorow would mean for the month of the september we would be 3rd best team in that month. Meaning if the season started in September and we did not have -10 we would be 3rd. Would you people being saying what you are now about plan b's and what not? Nobody is saying your not entitled to your opinions because you are but surely for what your saying to hold any weight or to be respected must mean it has to go the other way too. Meaning if your having doubts after 9 games and treading on the negative side of things you must then become vocal about being supportive when it is going right? And "if" we did win against Bristol as mentioned for the month of September we could be 3rd. A huge improvement from the previous month. I think this is what most people expect from you. When the team is doing not so well your very vocal about how the world is falling apart but when it is going well you seem to vanish. People obviously have different definitions of what supporting is. Last season i was very vocal about Wotte but prior to that i supported JP until xmas even though we all knew he would fook up. We knew to avoid relegation you must win games. But in a way it was not his fault. He came in and was just a puppet for the old regime. We had no money so they tried to draw it out as long as possible by doing everything cheap. There was no plans there for the future. So when it went wrong there was nothing we could do but continue on that course, we had no other options. Now is totally different. We have people in charge who are obviously not here for money or for wanting to be a media mogal/celebtrity. As far as im aware ML has said pretty much bugger all since he has been here after the first few weeks. Nicola has only really said anything at the fans forum. They are keeping us involved in what is happening but doing it in a way that does not try and make them look good. They are not after publicity. The plan is a longterm plan. It is not a put everything in one basket plan like last season. We no longer need to gamble and this is the mentality people need to get away from. It is not an everything now or i will cry thing. A step forwards will always take you somewhere forwards. The speed of those steps is obviously not as fast as some expect but the principle is the same, they are going forwards. So surely being a Saints fan you must be happy for the first time in god knows when we finally are able to plan for the following seasons rather then hoping the one were in turns out for the best by pure luck? This season is not about promotion. It never was. It is about getting the club both outside and in back on it's feet. Giving it the best possible chance to succeed in the future. Quick fix decisions lead us to where we were. Why are some so eagre to return to that? rant over

Big game for us. Win and we really have turned the corner taking 7 points from last 9 on offer and taking 9 from 15 in the whole month of september. Which would have us 3rd in the table for that month. Lose and it would be 6 from 15 in that month. Which would have us 9th. So while it marks only our 10th game it must now be said after this game that the season is no longer "new". The team has had time with the manager and should all be familliar with one another. Bristol are a good team. 3rd in the table and joint top with Leeds on recent form. They have scored 14 goals and let in just 7. A well oiled group who are doing very well. It will be a tough game. If we assume that players are now fit i would go for --------------Davis------------ James---Jaidi---Trottman----Harding Lallana---Hammond---Morgan---Holmes ---------Waigo------Lambert----------- I think it will be a close game and a draw 1-1. I would take that.
-
So let's say we beat Bristol. That would then be 7 points from the previous 9, or 8 from the previous 12. Top 3 form. Seeing as that would then represent 40% of our games would those complaining then conceed they are acting a bit ott?
-
you jammy bugger! reviews wise it has 92% on metacritic, think that makes it one of the best reviewed sports games of all time.

Time for our season to start / league table to watch
St Marco replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
If you looked at his posts then you would see what im talking about. Look for one positive post he has ever said about the club, ever. Pretty negative to me. It is not the high ground it is being normal. You cannot slag the team off by saying the team would of lost if it wasen't for a dodgy ref and not say the same for us when it happened to us multiple times. That is stupid and shows that he looks purely for the negative side of things. -

Again with the quotes..... Want me to explain the difference between now and then again? That would be what the 8th time? Do you really have a reading disorder? Seriously mate your a loon. Your looking for ways to bash the team at any chance you can and today you have shown you are not a Saints fan. You are just an internet troll. To say we would of lost if it wasen't for a dodgy ref and criticise the team while ignoring the most blatently awful decisions that have gone against us in games prior to that and passing them off as poor performances is a total joke. Go grind your axe somewhere else. -

So hang on let me get this straight When we don't get blatent penalty's, have legit goals ruled out, players who should of been sent off etc etc it is down to not being good enough etc... But when we win a game by 2 penalties all of a sudden it is "if it wasen't for a dodgy ref".... Sorry but that is the worst case of double standards i have ever seen. Which again just makes the negative people look even more silly. -

Sorry John but what your saying does not hold up. Your saying we are 10 points from safety which is true but if we did not have the minus 10 we would be what 17th or so? About what 3 points from Playoffs? If as mentioned we beat Bristol that could be 1 point. Which would that not be the type of form you are complaining about? Not sure i understand your point. You expect the team to do better but promotion form is not better? -

But then what is your point TDD? If say you think it is not good enough then we say sack the manager and get someone else in and they win 1 and draw 2 of their first 3 games would you not look at those 3 games as progress? If your going to judge a team on their first games of the season then that is fair enough. But it also means you must judge them on their future games too. Meaning if we beat Bristol we would have 8 points from the last 12 on offer, which would place us around 1st-3rd place based on form over the past month. Again just another example of how silly people are being. -
As i said above that is if you look at the results from the 1st day to today. If you look at say the period where we have had Jaidi etc i,e the last 3 games then we have taken 5 from 9, which if we did that for a whole season would of had us 6th last year. If we win on tues it would be 8 from 12, champions form. Some people make it sound like we are playing crap, leaking goals and getting stuffed when it is not the case. We are not scoring goals, that is our problem. Everything else is going right. I have no doubt eventually Lambert,Saga,Waigo and Lallana will start scoring.
-
Yes but you can't have it both ways. For example again just using the last 3 games. We played 2 away and got 5 points from 9. That is not amazing, not setting the world on fire. But if we use that as our points ratio and apply it to the table last year it would see us finish 6th and take a playoff spot. If we did that would people be as unhappy as they sound now? Doubtful. If and that is a big IF, we beat Bristol and Gillingham which are both home games that would of given us 11 points from the 15 on offer. That is obviously champions form. That is how quick it can turn. Which is why i think a lot of people are overeacting, again.

It really amazes me how people can twist a result to suit their agenda. Our problem today was we did not take any of our chances until the end. Speaking to my mate who went he said their keeper was probably man of the match. I would of liked us to have won this game and speaking to him we had the chances to do that. We just needed that bit of luck that did not come until the last kick of the game. We should of had more about us to put them to the sword but sometimes football is not like that. You have to look at both sides of the coin. You can look for negatives if you choose to but you cannot ignore the positives. We have gone 6 games unbeaten and let only 4 in. We have scored 6 in that time which is not good enough but the chances are coming we just need to be more lethal with them. As me and others have said before the season started you cannot expect this club to get promoted this season. It is a building process and regardless of your negative outlook we are moving forwards in every area but the results, which will come. I honestly do believe we will stuff somebody soon. There will be a game when all the chances we get will be taken and we could then win by 4 or 5. Bristol will be a hard game for us but it will be the test we need. If you look at our last 3 games we have got 5 from 9. With two of those being away. If you look at the month of September we are the 9th form team only 1point from 4th. Which again shows progress. So as i said you can spin it whichever way you want but what matters is results and while they are not wins they are also not losses.
-
In a way this could bring the confidence that we need. Let's be fair we over the years have had so many games where the team would just give up after that. The players stuck at it and kept going and that in itself shows improvement. The fans who went also should take some credit, could hear them loads, wish i was there.
-
your allowed to have whatever opinion you want i have seen 2 of his 3 games and i can't judge him yet, As soon as Holmes and Waigo are match fit and can handle starting we will be a team with more pace. That in my view is our problem. Mellis is fast and sounds like he played well but i would prefer Holmes in there.
-
Awesome to get a draw, didn't looklike was going to be our day. Reading the match thread it is like i was listening to a different game to most of them. Saints sounded the better team and sounded like we had far more chances then they did. Their goal was described as a pinball goal were it was bouncing around in our 6 yard box etc.. and was just pure luck that it fell to their guy. Did they deserve to be 1-0 up? Based on what we were hearing no. Especially as Mellis should of scored just momments earlier. So sounds typical Saints, created a load of chances but fail to take any, Lambert sounded like he had a load and their keeper made some great saves. We have to start taking these chances or we will just keep seeing more games like this. From the base of it is hard to say if we deserved to win as obviously not there but with 15 to go im sure we all would of taken a point. So maybe a draw was a fair result. It is so nice not having to listen to those "i told you so people" for at least another day or two. Thank fook the team did not give up, unlike some posters on here....

Your not singing your not singing Delldays your not singing anymore, delldays your not singing anymore!!! Now what do you think?
-
well obviously not there for the first time this season so bit gutted. Can't really say anything as listening on radio etc.. But the guy on there said we were playing well but not taken any of our chances which is typical Saints. Hopefully we will take one early in 2nd half. COYR

I like it the way it is to be honest. They all mean something to the city. Some players have done great and deserve some recognition but in all honesty i think they are few. Le Tissier obviously but in many years to come i can see Lawrie getting a statue or something. Sadly probably when he passes on. Love him or hate him he was the one that brought the best years to this club. And obviously Mr Southampton. So those 3 people would be deserving in my view. Alan Ball as good as he was, was just another good player at the club.
-
Nah don't think we have ever lost 7 in a row, in fact i think Martin Tyler said only 4 teams have ever lost that many in a row. Think Merson on his blog made a very good point that if they lost today they would probably be down. Because they have to play Man Utd twice, Liverpool twice and Chelsea twice. They will get stuffed in those games. So that leaves 25 games needing about 1.5 points a game which is european place standard. Not going to happen. Also if we win today we get to 1 point 1st and that is fecking hillarious. Of course this is Saints though so knowing us were lose....
-
That is quite funny that they think we still have a massive debt now were not a PLC..... What makes me laugh even more is just look at their forum compared to ours. Could you imagine some guy in Portsmouth being trusted with everyones £5 to set up the site? If you read my previous post in this thread i was actually quite nice to them, said it is harsh to see another south club go that way etc.. But **** em if they want to be like that. As pointed out we get a bigger attendence in division three then they do in the prem league. What do they need a new stadium for if they can't get the current one full?? The worst thing that could happen to them is being relegated simply because in CCC they will never bounce back. The plastic fans will turn away in droves and compared to most places in CCC Fratton Park is a **** hole. If you put them in that league and look at it unbiased there are probably 15-20 clubs with a better stadium and a more loyal fan base. Add to that the obvious huge debt they have with the new £50m debt added to that = not a very good prospect for buy out. They got lots of money from the bank to build a team to win a cup, just as Leeds did. If the Skates go down this year they will just do a Bradford, we will have to pass the bucket round St Mary's to raise some cash for them. Like Pompey Aid or something....
-
Also as said earlier if he came out and stood up for that type of behaviour you people would just shoot him down for not making a stand, you can't have it both ways lads.
-
Maybe it sends a message to the world that Saints are no longer that club which lets you get paid for doing nothing? Maybe those who are trying hard keep being let down by those who would rather **** about? As stated before think it is the right thing to do. He makes it clear those types of things will not be tolerated here without saying names.
