  1. Leeds vs Rotheram was shown on sky sports and that was a 2nd round tie last year so you never know.
  2. I just think it is great we have a guy in the club who not only tells it like it is but understands where we have come from and where we want to go. With the Lallana thing with people criticising him for what he said i think people need to remember if it was not for Pardew we would have lost him in the summer. He talked players like Adam and Morgan into staying. We know they are better then League One quality, it is obvious they will be gone sooner then later. But his point is that it is now on our terms, we don't have to sell simply to balance the books anymore which he highlighted with those players who have left since we dropped out of prem league. After re-couping £40m in just 4-5 years we still went into admin. As he mentioned those players will eventually go for large fees which will be used to bring in replacements. Where as before it would not be re-invested as much. I think that was a vital point he made. I think in the summer we will probably lose Lallana and Morgan. But we will be in a position to replace them with other players of hopefully similar quality. Rather then hope one of the youngsters will emerge such as it had been for years.
  3. When you buy the game inside you get the code as mentioned to get 10 new cars. But you get another code with it, this code will give you another.....30 tracks... So in total that is 130 tracks straight away. That is about 10 times the amount of tracks in GT. Reviews have been out a few days now and has done pretty well sitting at 93% after 22 reviews. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/forzamotorsport3 Think that makes it the best sored racing game since 2001 when A spec came out. Funny enough since then the GT series has not got a 90%+ score so GT5 will have to excellent to top it, will be interesting to see how that game turns out.
  4. There is a long long way to go. Having done well in the last 6 or so does not mean we will get promoted just as doing average in the first 6 does not mean we would get relegated. We will have good weeks and we will have bad weeks. Just being Saints fans were not used to good weeks too often. If we can get rid of some of the dead wood in January and bring in some players at the standard we have already seen come in then we could do well later on. But i think the loss of pre-season and having to add so many of our players after the season started will mean we come up short. It is a shame the season did not start a month later then it did. A combination of Fry,Pinnacle and Lowe fooked it up for us this year.
  5. No it wont.... It will show 2-2 (5-3ap). It was a cup game that could not end in a draw. In normal time of 90 mins it was a draw but the result was we won on penalties. It is like saying the european cup final in 05 between liverpool and milan was a draw. The point of the form guide is to show you how well your club is doing over a recent set of games in comparison to other teams. If you go back over the first 6 games of this season you had people talking about relegation, complaining about Pardew, give him until xmas etc etc The following 6 games things have turned around. If it wasen't for a goal that was a pure fluke in a magical 5 mins of injury time that should of been about 1m we would of been top, that is how close we were to it. You cant use a whole season as to your form as you will obviously do better some month's then others, every team goes through them. What matters is that the first 6 games were like our pre-season with things fitting into place and people being brought in. In that time people were jumping on Pardew's back, talking about how he wasted £1.7m etc.. I think the past 6 results show the potential of the team and show people were too quick to start with the negative threads of which this forum has had over recent weeks. It has to go the other way and those people have to do the reverse of what they did in those first 6 weeks now or in my book there point of view is based purely on personel preference, and will always remain that way.
  6. Nah they don't use the cup game in the form guide. Was just pointing out it is not 2 wins in a row it is 3. Sure it was against a team who are a league below us but how many times have we lost to a team in a league below us in recent years? It is not a game that should be ingored.
  7. It is not the back of 2 consecutive wins (it is 3 actually) it is a collective amount of results that matter. We have gone from a pretty slow start to improve nearly week after week. People complained about we were not scoring goals and we have just gone on to post the joint most scored goals in the past 6 games. People complained we were not getting points when we have got 11 from the last 6 games, just 2 points from top and nearly averaging 2 points a game. People complained Papa was crap and he has now scored 2 goals and set up 2. etc etc The point is people wanted the team to do better, they have now done better. People should praise that change around.
  8. http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/league-one/tables/currentform.html Just 2 points from the top team. Think it is safe to say some people over reacted Well done Pardew and the players
  9. Finally on me way home yay. Was just taking to a Southend bunch of lads, were really nice guy's and praised our team. One said Jaidi was like a minesweeper. Anything goes near him they will be destroyed and he will not have a scratch on him, made me laugh! I will probably be singing red army in my sleep tonight as we had it going for a long long time! The fans were superb and it just makes you feel so happy to see them like that after what has happened to us over recent years. It reminds you what a real supporter is. The weather was awful and it was cold, the drive was a pain in da ass but seeing the rampaging red nutters makes it all worth it in the end On to the game..... For the first 15 mins again we were superb, we came out and really had a go and got a deserved goal. Then Lallana tried to be ****y with a chance that 9 times out of 10 i could of put away and missed. It should of been 0-2. Then came their free kick from a Harding foul which the ref booked him for (more about him later). It was a quality strike by their guy, will look forward to seeing that on the highlights. Then after that it was all us. And before you knew it Papa had done a bit of magic and somehow got the ball into Lallana and it was 2-1, and then again and it was 3-1. Half time. 2nd half we dominated from start to finish. We did not get the clear chances we had before but they had nothing. Our back 4 were simply outstanding. It makes a huge difference (literally) having a big powerful back line to what we have had over previous seasons. To get past them was unlikely and you might get your leg kicked off if you tried. So a very good performance all round, even Wotten played well i felt. Man of the match is difficult to say but i would give it to either Hammond or Morgan. Morgan had one of his best games i thought and showed in difficult conditions his passing skills. If he can do that in the cold windy rain in a little ground then he can do it anywhere. Hammond put in the type of display we have now come to expect from him. He broke up the play's when he could and got us going in the other direction with simple passing, people should look at his style of play because he really is a quality player. If Kelvin ever left our club he would be the new captain without any shadow of a doubt. Now onto the ref......I have no clue how many games i have seen in my life, probably in the tens of thousands who knows, but this ref has to be the worst i have ever seen bar none. James got punched and he did nothing, Laurent was running around doing killer tackles that in some cases were late and not even a booking. Morgan got done for diving when it was a clear penalty and any time on of their guy's fell over the whistle went. I think it was Lallana who was in the box and was having his shirt pulled off! It was disgraceful. We probably should of had at least 2 more goals from this game. If Southend had gone on to win the game it would of been criminal, the ref looked like he was trying to do that at any chance he got. If Laurent ran into our box and did a swallow dive without a player near him he would of given 2 penalties, that was the type of ref he was. I hope Pardew complains about him because he and the linesmen were fecking awful So good game of footie, one we deserved to win. Marks a good week for us winning 3 from 3. Well done lads!
  10. Agree with CB Fry 100% Also think it is worth pointing out that say we did win tonight which i hope we do then we would of won 4 of our last 6 games. Only losing one of those games to a complete fluke. We would then of been only a few points from the playoffs if we did not have the minus points problem. I think if that sequence occurs those who still are not happy will probably never be happy.
  11. Strange as when i went it was a small stadium about 12k that was packed to the rafters and we were all crammed in like sardines. And when they scored their 2nd the place was rocking and felt like it was about to fall down. Guess tonight will be interesting to see if it has indeed gone that way.
  12. Did not realise how crap they had been doing as not looked at the table. We basically got 100% more points then them too. So i guess on that basis we are doing alright!
  13. Remember going there in 2006 i think and getting beat 2-1. Then we kicked their ass 4-1 on the return leg. A very intimidating old traditional stadium. If the players are serious about getting out of the drop zone before xmas then they will have to adjust to playing at places like this, fast, and winning them. They are no mugs, lost only 1 game at home all season. It will be tough. But they have lost 3 of their past 4 games so now is a good time to play them. I expect a win here, our squad on paper at least is far better then their's. The lads will have to fight for every ball. I think we will win this one 1-3
  14. Think it will have to go to the dubious threads panel for confirmation
  15. Still got 2 games to go until they have played 13 though as cup games do not count. Pearson got 16 points from 13 league games which is decent considering the circumstances. He has gone on to show his credentials, nobody can argue with that. Thus far Pardew has got 12 points from his 11 games. So he would need 2 wins to beat that ratio. Or at least a draw and a win to equal it. He has obviously had similar circumstances as Pearson to deal with. The one thing i believe in this whole let's bring up the past and compare to the future debates is, that no matter what happen's in the future Pearson,Crouch,Lawrie Mac and now Pardew really do/did have Saints best interests at heart.
  16. I must of missed that one EDIT: Yes it appears to be true! Pilchards mentioned it a couple weeks ago. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16708&highlight=connolly Nice to see our ITK are still alive and kicking
  17. also our guys in the know have let us down, how did you not find out he had been training for 3 weeks with us! Either we have become slack or our club really is run like a ninja camp these days where lesson number one is to become invisible!
  18. Awesome signing for us, a proven prem player when he is not injured. The type of scrappy player we need who will bust a gut to get into the box and onto the end of things. If we can keep him fit then it is a great signing, i'm guessing he will be on the type of contract Murty is. As mentioned above has an almost 1 goal every 2 games ratio.
  19. Think it is free mate as in you just need an internet connection. As far as i can tell the only difference with Live is if you pay the £3 a month or however much it is you get the demo's and stuff a week early. From next week i think you also get some other crap like Sky on there and Facebook etc.. Where as if you don't pay it you just get stuff a week later. So i think it is more to do with if you have the internet you get it, and if you don't have the internet you don't. So not really the game makers fault as we all use the net these day's!
  20. First reviews starting to come out. IGN (meh) gave it a 9.4/10 http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/103/1033110p1.html While IGN are normally laughable and anti Microsoft (three red rings podcast etc) it is actually a decent write up. Same as the uncharted one and fifa one. If they keep up with decent writing and turn away from the annoying side they could redeem themselves! Also other news about Forza 3. People who buy the game will get a code, this code will be used to unlock/download new tracks and loads of classic cars, for free. I think the reason they done that is to encourage people to buy it new rather then second hand.
  21. You need to update the squads. There is a place in one of the menu's that say's "Download Latest Squads". Or something like that. That is the good thing about fifa, can update stuff very easy and for free.
  22. Yeah was just a bog standard 4-4-2 with Saga and Lambert up front. While talking about Total Football though thought it would be funny to see how JP has been getting on at Fc Eindhoven. Not so good by the looks of it. 2nd to bottom and got mauled 0-8 at home to some team i never heard of. Bet their fans are loving it just as much as we did!
  23. When i say concept i mean as in the presentation of it. It is a football management game but looks and acts like it did 10 years ago. As i mentioned before look at Fifa 10 and then Look at Fifa 2000. Light years apart in the terms of presenting that sport. Football Manager just seems stale now. Lack of ideas in how to take the series forward. I think it might have been on Eurogamer last year about the football management genre where they said that games developers have advanced so far in what they can do but some have not moved an inch. I think Si games are one of those developers. They need to scrap it and go fully 3d. Have realisitc graphics that show realistic games. Have more realisitc inteaction that actually does something rather then clutter up your time with things that actually have no purpose i.e their take on player interaction. Have proper comentary, a 2d database is less of a resource hog then a 3d game but yet FM takes fecking years to do anything. You can play a game like Total War with thousands of different AI units all firing at each other on a life like terrain and it will act flawless. But FM which is less complex takes years and years to load. Even if it is to just see 1 result... As i have stated to you before my personel opinion is they need to get real. The series is in deep **** and based on those videos it might as well be 09 or 08. Im pretty sure most people will agree.
  24. Have to say i felt they all looked the same as last year, and the year before that. Only thing which looked different was the skin, the concept was the same. Will check out the reviews for it when it comes out and decide to buy it or not from that.
  25. Very fast kid. Did one really cracking cross that was unlucky for nobody to turn in. But also a lot of wasted crosses. Very raw and needs to learn to make the right call but that only comes with experience. A good prospect for the future.
