  1. Amazon confirmed that they will count. Before the X factor final the official chart rules said that anything below 40p does not count. However since then they started to sell the x factor song for 29p. I am not 100% sure but i think they said they would make up the difference for this week. So the 29p ones on Amazon will count for this week only. Play, HMV and Digital7 count, as do Itunes.
  2. And do you tweet to peoples accounts acting as if you were them?
  3. So they got hold of his Blackburry phone and tweeted it did they (look under the message, tells you were it came from). Thus confirming you know nothing about Rage Against The Machine or what they are singing about. Secondly they said they were donating profits to charity....
  4. Why? Tom Morello supports it http://twitter.com/tMorello "Rage's Killing in the Name & the X-Factor's goofy Christmas single are neck and neck for num one spot on UK chart. England! Now is your time" Think the person who wrote and performed the song is in a better position to comment on its meaning
  5. Well that is your opinion mate. Your entitled to it. People such a Stephen Fry are supporting the group by campaigning. As are others such as Alan Davies, Phil Jupitus, Bill Bailey, Kelly Jones, Jeremey Clarkson etc etc I think they are all pretty clever people personally.
  6. If you read the group they put it in a better way then i could. But the jist of it is that since i think 2004 Simon Cowell has claimed residency to the xmas number 1 slot. By putting the X Factor show on at the time of year it is, is designed to get a number 1 single every xmas. He himself admits this. He say's "The show is aimed at giving these singers a huge hit at xmas". Should he be entitled to having that slot? How will a normal band that writes their own songs, writes their own music and performs them compete with all the exposure of the tv show? The reality is they can't. Should the music industry be used like that to pretty much gurantee one company a number 1 hit every year? If people don't make a stand against it then it will continue every year. It is not about how many sales each song sell's, it is about making it a fair landscape for all the bands. Because no other group will ever have a number 1 at xmas again while the set up remains as it is. That is quite sad if you think about it.
  7. There is a bug with it. When it is all sorted it will be either 1 or 2. It was 1 until the bug hit. The problem is there are 2 versions of the song. An album version which is explicit (this is the one people are wanting you to buy) and a radio edit version.
  8. Yes both on Sony. But difference is Simon Cowell has the x factor under his own label called Sico or something like that. Reports were that he himself would take about 80% of the x factors songs takings. Where as obviously he has nothing to do with Rage Against the Machine.
  9. Acording to http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/dec/15/rage-against-the-machine-christmas They say we are just 10% ahead of the x factor winner. Every sale helps! Do you realy want another xmas were a reality tv show winner who never wrote their own music has their normally poor cover on the radio/tv every 5 minutes?
  10. Not sure if this should of gone in the muppet section but screw it, let's put it here! Now as im sure you might be aware there is a campaign to get Rage Against the Machines song "Killing in the name of" to number 1 in the UK charts for xmas. The song selection is not important, what is important is the message behind it. It is a protest at shows like the x factor. They have killed the tradition of a xmas number 1 by having the past 4 xmas number ones. If nothing is done then it will be year number 5. You might not give a **** and that is fair enough. But i'm sure there was a time when you did. Right now the single is number 1 on itunes, HMV chart, Play chart. It is just winning the downloads battle against the x factors winning song. However tommorow and in some places today that x factor song will have a physical release in some shops. Where as RATM will not. There is huge support for this amongst the country with nearly 800,000 people signed up to the Facebook group. Many celebrities have helped with the campaign by giving air time to promote the group such as Zane Lowe, Scott Mills etc.. The group is here http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2228594104&ref=mf Not only is the group doing this they are also raising money for charity. The charity they have chosen is Shelter. So far they have raised nearly £30k http://www.justgiving.com/ratm4xmas/ There are numerous places you can buy the single. With Amazon being the cheapest at just 29p. In the facebook group if you go into the info tab there is a list of links taking you to places you can buy it. Acording to BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8413557.stm We are just winning. But will need more, a lot more sales. So you have until saturday to buy the song if you have not done so already. 29p is feck all. If you want another reason to buy it then basically buy it because Simon Cowell said anyone who was against the x factor having another xmas number 1 was stupid. Which Zane Lowe and Scott Mills did a quality remix of on radio 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQzNdLsI49I
  11. Another stat is we have now won as many league games this year as we had for the whole of last season
  12. So say i went into the bookies, and put a bet on Saints to win, they would not pay out if it was a draw in normal time?
  13. I still don't get how people see the Torquay game as a draw. It was a cup game that could not be a draw if i remember right? Out of interest to those people who know a bit about betting. If you put cash on say Saints to beat Torquay in the cup, and it is a draw and has to be decided on penalties, then in penalties Saints win, do you still win the bet? Another interesting statistic, we just equalled the amount of wins we had for the whole of last season.......and some people wanted to keep Wotte.....
  14. Surprised to see Jaidi there, he probably put half of the people in that hospital! Seriously though, well done Saints. It makes you proud to be from here when you see/read stuff like that. Puts everything into context.
  15. To be fair i can understand why he did that and sort of agree. No offence to the Echo but their reporting in basically just reading this website, or listening to the game and reporting on it. They pride themselves on "being close to Saints" and having inside knowledge etc.. If that is true then they were aware that NC had obviously been working hard behind the scenes to upgrade the training ground. He wanted to have a press conference to unvail the plans to the people. He asked the echo if they could wait a day before printing it so not to ruin the plans, and they didn't do that. That was their decision and they made it based purely on trying to be the "hey look at us we got an exclusive, buy our paper, give us some money!" guy. So now they will have to report in a different way as they will not be welcome at St Mary's. So they will have to look elsewhere to get their news, like reading websites and listening to the radio....oh wait they already do that, so no change there then!
  16. Can't wait for this one. Expensive but hopefully worth it!
  17. Hope it works out for the man, he deserves to do well. His time at the club was definitely my favourite time to be a Saints fan. However i do think the journey we are now on will end up being better. The way i see it over the last decade there has been a few good bits and a lot of bad bits, he was in charge of the better bits. At least at Boro he will have a decent chairman who will back him.
  18. Well finally got around to finishing the game. Not had much time to play games recently Am i the only one who is a bit dissapointed in it? The first one is one of my all time favs but this one just seems a bit hollow. Like they made it for the sake of making it rather then because they had a good story etc. Don't get me wrong there are some great bits in it like the airport level and the ski one. But other then that it just feels very boring. Like your doing the same thing over and over. The story is so silly you would expect it in some 1980's Dolph Lundgren film! One of the things that ****ed me off the most was the whole "oh no i have fallen over, please help me up" thing. They have done that to death. Maybe im being a little harsh. I expect Battlefield 3 will blow this game out of the water. Thankfully only paid £26 at Sainsbury's for it, and will get £30 from Cex for it, so a bit of a profit
  19. Just thought i would add those people who orgionally were saying the playoffs were saying so when we didnt have about 90% of our squad. Seeing as they were all brought in after the season started. I maintain that anyone who thought this club would get promoted with the players we had on that opening game were expecting way too much. The team as it is with the commanding presence and experience of players like Hammond,Connolly,Lambert,Jaidi etc is obviously expected to do well. Pardew has done very well. Those people who were on his back so early im sure regret that now.
  20. thank god i did not pay £15 for that well done to khan. I guess he will be on the Mayweather-Pacman undercard in march then, that will be epic.
  21. The Mitchell fight was great. Prescott looks so much weaker then he used to look.
  22. http://www.atdhe.net/7207/watch-amir-khan-vs-dmitry-salita
  23. http://www.justin.tv/flashsportskhanpromo1 dunno how long it will last tho Edit: its not actually live yet, but should do for fight, if i find another one i'll post it
  24. This will be an interesting one. Salita has had around 30 fights and is undefeated. Doesnt have the best knock out record but can take a punch. He won the golden gloves tournament in 2001 so obviously is no mug. Comes from the streets and fights like it. He was supposed to fight Kotelnik before Khan so will be ****ed he was dodged. Its one of those fights that is really hard to call. If Khan fights like he did in his last fight then he has a great chance. Roach has really skilled him in the ways of avoiding getting hit, his speed and reflex's are his best attributes. However as Baj says with Khan he is pretty weak and doesnt take a punch so good. Salita has a very good hook and if that connects it will be over for Khan. For some reason i think Salita will win by knockout. Khan's problem is he is a mouthy git. Like he said in the interview earlier "it should be no problem, i will beat the best out there, i wont dodge anyone, i see the fear in his eyes". While Salita is all respectful and happy to be in England etc etc. If he ever fought Pacman, Mayweather,Marquez,Hatton,Cotto they would murder him, he dodged all those fighters. When/if he fights those people and wins some then talk like that. So i think he has not taken it as serious as he maybe should. As we have seen time and time again in the past when people do that they a lot of the time lose.
  25. That is indeed a negative way of looking at it. However if you choose to look at it in a positive way and say choose the last 10 games, which is 50% of the total games played. Of those 10 games we have 23 points from 30 on offer. 7 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. So that would be based on the last 10 games an average of 2.3 points a game. If we then average that for the remaining 26 games we would gain another 59 points. Add that to our current total of 22 would mean we could have 81 points by end of season if we maintain the last 10 games ratio. If we look at last years table that would of had us 6th. This season i dont think it will need as many points to get promoted as it is more competative with more teams able to beat each other. If we use 81 points based on the past few seasons it would have us finish around 3rd or 4th. If we look at the league table after 20 games last year http://www.zerozerofootball.com/edicao.php (you can work that out here) The top team had 44 points which was Leicester and the 6th team had 36 points which was Oldham. Now if you compare that with this year you see Leeds have more points then Leicester did. But our 6th placed team this year has just 31 points. 5 points less then last year. If you take the 5th placed team they have 32 points etc.. So technically if we keep our last 10 games form into the 2nd half of the season we should make the playoffs. However if we have a blip in form that could cost us.
