  1. Add to what TDD has said in that they have lost their last 3 games. I think the players will be up for this one after last week. Plus we now have competition for places, i think it is clear that if you cant be arsed you will be dropped by the looks of how Pardew has set the selections up. Add to that we have their ex captain who will dish the dirt on ceratin things like who to watch and so on. Having a new manager especially one who has beaten us the last 5 times we played him is always going togive them a lift, everyone knows the manager bounce. But as some guy once said records are there simply to be broken. So i feel confident we will win tomorrow. It does not matter how we do that just as long as we do. I would take a poor performance and a win with a shot hitting someone's arse and going in finishing 1-0. But i think this one could be a pummeling. If we can get forward like we have done in the last 2 games and we take some of those chances we could easily win this one. So i'm going for a 3-0 win to Saints
  2. awesome that they did not qualify then
  3. only slightly annoying thing could be we lose him when that african nations malarky starts up again
  4. Papa we love you, Papa we do, Papa we love you now go and score 2
  5. Papa was a rolling loan.....
  6. theres more! Some lyrical genius could make one up with the lyrics from Papa's got a brand new bag" by James Brown. or From any Mamma's and Papa's song
  7. To the tune of that Maddona song "Papa don't preach, your in trouble deep, papa don't preach your be losing sleep". Or something like that. also another nickname could be Papa Shango
  8. --------------Davis---------- Murty---Del Boy--Jaidi---Harding Papa Smurf--Hammond---James ------------Lallana--------------- -----Saga------------Lambert---- Subs:Bart,Thomas,Morgan,Mellis,Patterson That team could score a **** load of goals potentially
  9. has to have the nickname Papa Smurf.....i'll get me coat
  10. Got a feeling that hiding could be handed out this saturday. With them having a new manager and losing those players plus losing the last 3 in a row i can see a potential mauling happening. Sometimes you get a new manager bounce, but having Jaidi now in the squad we should see the players bounce right off him as he is a brick wall....
  11. Well just had a look on youtube to see if there was anything and there is a few clips! Him scoring with a diving header. Plus can see his pace in that one after the goal. Him scoring against Juve at 5:11 him dancing.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bnb_LvF1mkY
  12. That would not be a poll on the transfer activity then would it BUT If we want to say talk about the performances of those who were brought in and have already played then again would say very happy because they have all done very well. We might not have won a game yet but deserved to. And obviously will eventually.
  13. A lot of people moaning as always that we didn't get Ronaldo or Torres etc. But would be nice to see how the more sensible supporters see our transfer activity this season? With Hammond,Trotman,Lambert,Mellis,Harding,Murty,Jaidi and Papa Waigo that makes 8 new players in just under a month. A very busy time for the club then in terms of people incoming. So how do you see it, happy with those 8 players or not happy? Personally im very happy
  14. This guy is class. I remember a few years ago when i was visiting my nan in Italy i was watching Raitalia. Had him playing for i think Cesena against Milan in the cup (i think not 100% certain) and thought he did really well. Of course i could be talking about the wrong dude as was like 2 years ago now. If it is who i think it is he is tallish and a bit gangly, one of those players who looklike they are about to fall over as look awkward but don't. Quite pacey player. Good signing for us.
  15. demo will be out on 10th
  16. Would be great to get Jaidi in as think him and Trotman could be a good pairing. Then get in a couple of loans next week when that window opens. When you think about it we have actually brought in a **** load of players this season already i.e Hammond,Lambert,Trotman,Mellis,Murty,Harding etc so it is quite humourous reading the time to cut our wrists brigade talking like we have done nothing. So hope he signs but would like to see a striker with pace added. If it is true that Holmes is almost fit then don't really need a winger then.
  17. Can't be arsed to read all the thread as just home but jesus is the whole thread full of drama queens? If we have not lost Saga and Pardew can get him fired up like last weeks game for rest of season then that will be good. We lack pace up front but a team with Saga is better then a team without Saga. We have had deals on this day which have taken fecking ages to be announced such as Stern John at midnight. The fact we have not heard anything official makes me think something is going on. Normally you get the whole "we tried to sign xyz but in the end xyz happened". It could be we are talking with the FA about the forms etc, maybe they are waiting to decide on permits etc etc. We have obviously not signed lots of players but we didn't need to. We needed at least 1 striker of pace, that is what we needed. The rest would of been a bonus. Anyone thinking we will get relegated based on the last few performances are loco and just looking to create negativity.
  18. What they also fail to mention is that they actually got worse when he left. Which i guess goes to show that changing things does not = better.
  19. I still maintain what i said pre-season when we were about to go out of business. 6 years of being on the way down will not change in the space of a few weeks/months. We had a dire squad last season and that dire squad was made weaker in the summer. Anyone expecting promotion with that is a lunatic. This season is all about starting again. Reaching the bottom and starting to climb once more. I believe we have now bottomed out and will go forwards, no more bad things to happen to us. We can finally put the past 6 years behind us and look forwards. But it will take time. My expectations for this season is to simply survive this year. We had a poor team, no manager and no back staff, no scouts no nothing. To expect promotion from that as i said is crazy. It is like me expecting my car to win the daytona 500 without a pit team or any fuel, never going to happen. The minus 10 and the lack of pre-season have hurt our prospects for this season. If we can get in a few players tommorow of quality then who knows but right now i expect to survive, nothing more. People slag the team off by usng Charlton as an example. What they don't mention is that their manager was in charge for 6 months and lost 20 games and re-placed basically every position until he has what he has now. Add to that their games this year have been against 5 teams picked to battle relegation. So to expect us to be the sam after about 6 weeks is just silly. So survive this year and begin to build a team that will go on to remain a team for the next few seasons. Next year we will get promoted and have a good chance in the CCC. It wont happen over night just as our slide into oblivion didn't happen over night. I believe the fans who go to the games are happy with the way the club is going now, the standing ovations in the last 2 games make me believe it. So what people on a forum think does not really matter, it does not effect the team in either a positive or negative way.
  20. But if the ref had done what a ref is supposed to do then he would of given 2 penalties in the 1st half. If Mellis was not brought down he would of scored. So that would of made it 2-0 at least. If Saga had his legit goal allowed then that would of been 3-0 and game over. So where you say it isn't about luck you are right it is about the game being played by the laws and the ref did not do that, he made at bare minimum 3 mistakes that should of resulted in goals being scored. What people don't seem to grasp is that the game was ruined by the ref, it is nothing to do with taking the chances it is to do with them being allowed to stand. If you have two clear penalties turned down, a clear goal rulled out and a penalty that should never have been is that down to luck or simply poor refereeing? The fact of the matter is this ref is known for being **** and doing stuff like that, ask Bournemouth fans. So sorry but i strongly disagree with you. The players did everything that players could do. If that game was say Man Utd vs Arsenal and Man Utd had those decisons go against them then i can just imagine the out cry from people, especially Andy Gray. The ref would of been suspended or something. So as i mentioned above if the ref had called it rightly it would of been 3-0 and over before half time. If we had a different ref then it would of been and people then would of been saying we are a good team etc etc. Which just highlights how silly people are for doubting Pardew just 5 games into a new season.
  21. We had 19 shots on goal, hit the crossbar twice, hit the post once, had 2 clear penalties denied of which one was the most blatent i have seen. Had a legit goal disallowed etc etc. If the ref had not given the penalty to them we would of won as they were not a threat at all. So if he had not given the penalty and we did win would people be *****ing like they are? Obviously no. So this is a question for those people who are complaining. We know your opinion on everything else as you make it quite clear. But what would you change? You say what your not happy about but offer no alternatives so let's be hearing them? My view is simple. We were by far the better team yesterday and on another day would of won by a large margin. If we had a ref who was being 50-50 and making the right decisions we would of had 3 goals just from those. So the only thing i would change would be trying to bring in a few people with pace. Trottman,Hammond,Harding,Lambert,Mellis and Murty have already improved the side by a great margin. We lack luck but we have never had that.
  22. Just back from a long trip home and have to say am not shocked to read what people have wrote. Have come to expect it from people on this board really. The best word to describe it would be "numpties". People who have no idea what being a supporter means. Those people saying we were rubbish etc make me laugh because they clearly were not at the game and have no idea of how we are playing or what has happened. Today was one of our best performances for a longtime. We dominated the game from start to finish. Our midfield were solid and our defence had almost nothing to do. Our wingers were crossing the ball into the box of which 2 times we hit the crossbar from. Everytime they had a set piece they never looked like doing anything with it. Davis had like 1 save to make all game. We had loads and loads of chances and on another day we would of won 0-5. The ref was the worst ref i have seen in my life and must have been on drugs or something. We should of had 2 other penalties, Mellis was brought down in the box after a quality run and was one of the most obvious penalties i have ever seen. Ref did not give anything our way. When we got our penalty he had to give it simply down to the amount of mistakes he made prior to it. Their penalty was a disgrace. The rule says the hand must go to ball not ball to hand. All he did was sort of mis hit the ball and it bounced up and hit his arm. Was not diverting a shot from goal, was nothing and the ref should be sacked for it. This week people have been talking about players cheating like Eduardo well what is different about that? Is that not cheating? Overall i am very happy with our performance just sick at the way the ref ****ed it up. It was as if he was waiting to give something to them because of the penalty he gave to us. Looking back on the games i watched last season i am delighted at the change around in performances. Even from just 2 league games ago things have improved loads. League One is a hard league and if we play like that every week until the end of the season we will win most of our games by far. The reason we lost today was down to a crap referee nothing more. So those who are having a go are just stupid, really stupid and a fine example of the scum who have made football into what it is today. The quick to fire people muppets who think everything will be solved by bringing in a new guy every few days.... Those who actually have supported the club over the past few seasons know we are a club only a couple of months out of admin, coming down with a poor over sized squad left with a shell of a club, with next to no coaches, next to no scouts etc. We are having to build up and the only way you will progress is to improve week after week. Those who have watched our games will see that we are now better then we were on the 1st day of the season. With 1 or 2 new faces who can add a bit of pace we will be a good team. So it's not about being a "happy clappy" it's about not being an "unrealistic moaning ****". Because right now we are a better side then we have been in the past 2 seasons. And that is down to just a few players Pardew has brought in. If he could do that in just a month then imagine what he can do in 12? But of course some of you might be right, we should get on the phone to Fergie, see if he wants to be our manager....
  23. the bit where you fight scarecrow is fecking awesome
  24. superb game, probably the best one i have played this year to be honest
  25. Well i got a feeling we could be seeing a few incoming and outgoing. Rasiak gone and probably Saga going out on loan etc.. Maybe Morgan going. So i think we will bring in another striker who will probably be a semi young striker with pace etc.. I think we will see a defender join most likely Jaidi and possibly another. And i think at least another midfielder. So im saying 4
