  1. Nice to see being relegated twice in quick succession and being close to going under has kept the Charlton fans feet firmly on the ground.....
  2. I went for a draw at weekend and think we can win this one. They are not a bad team and won last night too. I think it will be a close game but we will win 0-1. Have a sneaky feeling Rasiak might score. Will be my 1st trip to Huddersfield so looking forward to it!
  3. Or it is what Millwall fans say when they have found some kid hiding in a bush
  4. To be fair he was pretty bad against Millwall when he came on. Some of his passing was awful.
  5. See the problem with Pompey and why a lot of bookies have them as down is simply because they are no longer a team. Krankjar has said he wont sign a new contract and wants out. Utaka thinks the club has conned him into staying as they promised new players etc. Kaboul, well he is a ****, Finnan limped off injured, Nugent had a fight with some of his team mates supposedly, Kanu is a free agent and in any case is waaay past it, he scored 1 league goal last year etc etc They are a team that has fallen apart and do not get on with each other by the sounds of it. Most of them looklike they want out or will be sold to keep the club going. Where as we have now got a new manager and new owner etc so confidence is high. A team spirit makes a massive difference, we know that only too well.
  6. Rasiak and Lambert up front and maybe put a new guy we get in this week (if he is a defender) in for Olly. No offence to Olly but he really needs to go out on loan and learn to be a defender. We need experience at the back, we did our whole "lets let the youngsters play" thing last year, worked great.
  7. In that case Spurs at home would do
  8. Probably the best time to play Pompey so would love that. A tie at home with the skates would be a sell out for sure. However that said i think i would like any top team we have not played for awhile. If we got one of the top four and they put out a gash side and we beat them would do wonders for the confidence of players and fans. Which in turn could see us really push on in this league. We are not going to win this cup, or any cup (except the Paint one perhaps) so would rather lose to one of the big names and have fun then lose to a **** team like Carlisle and be ****ed off.
  9. Played the demo and love it! Feels very much like the old cartoon or the old Tim Burton style, very dark etc. Quality! Also i noticed Very sell it for £39 but if you put in the code ZQ443 in checkout you should be able to knock a tenner off it! So i just orderd it from there with the code and was £32 delivered. sweet.
  10. See the nice thing about it all is we can now talk about those, that is now our only concern. The politics consumed this club whole. Made people crazy. Some people were having a go at legends simply because their son was an agent who maybe got paid for bringing in someone to the club. Every little thing was over analysed to the point it was stupid. Now that has all changed. You still got some people who are looking to be negative simply because that is what they are used to. If you look at the board your see posts by people showing what i mean i.e Saint Cam and Nickh etc. That is their opinions and they are entitled to them just as we are to ours. But my point is it will take time for those people to let go of the past and join in on the future. It's like coming out of a bomb shelter after your city has been blown to ****, when someone say's it is ok to come out your still cautious. (i do not actually know what it is like being in a bomb shelter but you get the metaphor) As that happens we will get back to a level of normality as time passes by the things that ****ed us off will gradually be forgotten. In 10 years time i doubt many people will mention people such as Lowe again etc So for me the spirit is returning because for me the spirit is about the football side to the club. When we beat teams like Man Utd you would feel the buzz around the old city. When we would survive another season in the top flight on the last day you could not help but get involved in the celebrating of it even if you were not a fan! Generally was good times! We will get back there again sometime, hopefully soon. The difference is now we believe it will happen!
  11. We don't have a divine right to be a big club. But having suffered the way we have over the past few seasons generally the fans have stuck by the club. The fact as i mentioned above even being relegated, having two dutch nobodies and a chairman hated by most getting 17k+ is pretty good going. The fact we can do that when at our worst shows we have a solid fanbase. When things go well as also mentioned we have the ability to nearly double that number. And that to me is what makes a big club. Not the fact you got loads of money to spend on players but the fact people actually support you and turn out to see you. Not many clubs in this country can get 20k+ people to come see you play in League One. If some of the supposed big teams in the prem league were down at this level i wonder if they could get those numbers.
  12. I like the way they try to say Saints are not a big club. In our worst season ever last year we still had an average of over 17k people. With the complete and utter **** on display and with the garbage chairman and managers etc that is pretty decent. If things go well for the club we can get that up to 20k+ this year. Where as Rovers have an average of just 7k.....Now that is not me be-littleing Bristol just it shows the club has both more fans and a bigger stadium. For our 1st game in league one we had 21k turn up, Rovers had 7k, that is 3 times more people. For League One Saints are a big club. For the Championship we are a top 6 club based on attendences. So in terms of say Man Utd we are not a big club, but in terms of League One we deffinatly are.
  13. Saw the Saintsforum under Gilletts picture on the big screen at the match

Great news, the perfect player for us, scores goals, is powerful and knows the league. Hopefully will score some of those wonder goals for us this year! £1m in league one sounds like a **** load though, what is the transfer record for a player joining a league one team if anyone knows?
  15. So just spent £1m in League One (is that a record?) on a player beating supposedly Boro to him. Does this mean you were wrong again nickh?
  16. Someone mentioned to me that MLT could potentially become involved. Pure speculation and maybe wishful thinking but he showed interest in the board room with the Pinnacle fake bid so who knows. The question is then what could he do? He would probably be just a token board member or something. What worries me is that if things go wrong some of our brainless fans will take pops at him like they did Lawrie Mac. So probably best to have no previous Southampton personnel in there for their own sake!
  17. Just back from the game. Recorded the Sir Bobby tribute (well done guys) and Davis save. Sorry bout the quality but could be worse! (davis save) (robson tribute) Now to the game! Personally i was quite pleased with our display. The first 10 mins or so i thought was pretty gash but that is to be expected really with all the changes we have made over recent weeks/months. Alot of our players did well. I thought Morgan was excellent and for a spell was the guy most likely to create something. His passing was spot on for most of it. Harding did very well and looked comfortable as did Murty who i thought was quality. He made a few sprints to get the ball ahead of their striker which impressed me loads. We have lacked that desire to get to the ball 1st for sometime. Thomas and Perry did well for most of the game. I did not see what happened with the penalty or if it even was one but someone said Thomas may have pulled someone back? Now for the negatives. Way too many long balls which gave Saga and Patterson no chance. We just lack that little bit of creative ideas to help set up things. Morgan was doing it and tried to slot in some passes but overall passes were wasteful. We only really had long shots and a few headers, no real clear cut on the ground chances except for the goal. The changes did not really have much impact and i thought if anything had a negative one. Gillett was awful, i would like to see his success pass & as was truely awful, the one where he had half a pitch with just Murty to pass to was shocking. Gobern tried to get involved and got some tackles in but did not really add anything different, same could be said of Thomson. But the effort was there and that is a huge plus over last season. All in all i think we deserved to win so am a bit gutted with a draw but its a start. A few new additions and we will be fine. I thought Patterson did very well and had him or Murty down as my motm, maybe Murty just taking it with those runs he did.
  18. Think 360 has a Scarecrow level or something? Thing which is guranteed about things like this is that you can bet your ass a week or so later it will be on all formats. If the 360 has some exclusive thing it will go on PS3 and vice versa. The only real exclusives this gen are games made by the console makers themself, everything else goes multi-platform sooner or later. Also its been getting quite good reviews thus far, some saying its like an old style arcade beat-em up, which sounds great!
  19. I mean the one Wotten is wearing in the photo a few posts above, the long sleave shirt. I did not see a shirt looking like that in the store. And James' one looks way too light as you can see the stripes clearly running down it where as on the one i have it is much darker and have to be up very close to see the stripes. If you look at the pics on the Saints photos vs Ajax you can see what i mean http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1726966,00.html Very dark.
  20. Also another thing is it me or does the shirt actually not looklike the shirt Wotten and James are wearing? I did not see the one Wotten has on in there at all, it is like it has been computer generated or something? The one James is wearing misses out the crest from 1885 with the new crest over it (at least i can't see it!).
  21. Bought mine today and am loving it. Much better then previous away kits we have had, actually looks smart ish.

While i am not exactly Portsmouth's biggest fan (i hate the **** hole). It is sort of sad to see them in that situation. I don't think anyone wants them to go out of business. Just for their fans to be knocked down a few pegs. If this happens then that will obviously do that. I remember in a meeting a few months back i was speaking to a Pompey fan and we were chating about our plight. He said how bad it was and that he wished we could both be in the Premier league as would make much better games etc. And to me i think that is what i want also, both of us in the top flight playing each other each year (hopefully winning more then they do). While seeing them suffer a bit it is of course enjoyable but you have to wonder how the fook they got into that amount of debt in the first place....GayMark or whatever his name is sounds like Risdale in disguise.
  23. The thing is though if the return of the jaidi does sign would that really be a big announcement? He would do a job for us but he is 33 who was released from his previous club, not really something to boast about as such. So maybe just maybe something else could be happening like as others have mentioned in regards to the away shirt? One thing i think we have learnt about our new owner is that when they (his staff) want to they can keep quiet about stuff, so would not surprise me one bit to see something like a couple of other un-announced players signing.
  24. Guess some people prefered having Jan/Wotte, Lowe and of course Wilde running the ship. Boy that was a load of fun wasen't it! Seriously though with some posters you just get the feeling they want the club to fail simply so they can say "i told you so, i was right, you were wrong, praise me etc etc" Which to me says they are not actual fans, just trolls really.
  25. I saw on tv the Left 4 Dead 2 spoof of this Did not realise they were everywhere!
