  1. Right now im not sure. I want to say yes but all the delays to me do not make much sense. Something does not seem right with it. The sticking point of the -10 just sounds so bogus. We were in that situation 3 months ago almost, how has it now become an issue? Supposedly they knew the club had that penalty before they became interested? Just seems a lil fishy. For me if it is not done by friday i can't see it happening, i can imagine these new people interested would press on with their bids by then. After all that would be a week after the exclusivity period ended.
  2. Sorry mate i meant to say it was in Tiger Woods not Fifa. It should be put into the new Fifa game when that comes out in october.
  3. Well reviews have started to come in as was released state side today. Bit annoying but hopefully Game continue the trend of getting their games to me a day early Thus far it has a 89% score on metacritic, pretty decent. Can imagine it will probably end up between the 87% to 92% mark. For a fighting game that is very good. A really cool feature in the game is a thing called "Game Face". This has been put in Fifa too but i don't think it was advertised that much. Basically it enables you to take photos of yourself and upload them to the server. Then it will digitally re-create you into the game, thus giving you the real you to fight with, pretty impressive. Not only can you add yourself but you can add other people, anyone you can think of, if your not very good at making people or in fact can't be arsed with it then you can simply download the created chars at http://www.easportsworld.com/en_US/playershare/searchresults/game/fightnight/type/MDB If any of you are any good at that kinda stuff you could always re-create Rupert Lowe so you can give him a proper beating, not like that punch a celeb site
  4. Personally as i said few days ago that i think the whole -10 thing is a way for Pinnacle to get out of the deal. Of all the legal things that go with buying a buisness especially one that is in admin, something like the -10 argument seems really weak. Of course you should be entitled to appeal, it is a right everyone should have. But we have to remember that the company went into admin on april the 2nd and got the deduction on 27th. The league took 25 days to give the decision. We have then had 2 months since then. If Pinnacle were serious they should of gone into the exclusivity period knowing that the chances of appealing that after 1 month let alone 2 would likely be rejected. How long does a company have to appeal that? I just fail to see the importance of this point, how does getting the minus 10 reversed help the club on anything other then the pitch? It does not give any financial gains to it. The only way it would is if we finished 9 points way from promotion at the end of the year. Then we could say it has hindered us. But right now with the club in the shambles it is with both playing and coaching staff under par what are the odds of that happening? The more this drags on the more it is hurting the club for next season. I could not care less if we were playing in division 3 or the mickey mouse league, what matters is the clubs longterm future is put 1st, and arguing over something so trivial as a minus 10 deduction is not doing that, it should not be a priority. The club was badly managed from top to bottom for many years. Don't let the legacy of that continue to harm the club. Either bite the bullet and sign the deal of admit you can't do it for whatever reasons and let us get on with it. The one person who has come out of all this with some credit thus far is Crouch. The man lost over a million pounds the moment the club went into admin, but he had helped to pay the wages to staff since then. Fair play to the guy as he has put his money where his mouth is. Some of these people need to look at that example and follow suit. However i doubt MLT would of got involved in this if he did not think A,they had the money or B,were serious about it. I can imagine he is just as frustrated as we all are. The clocks ticking.
  5. Appreciate the updates Tony! I think what you have said in regards to the situation with the football league makes a lot of sense. It is such a complicated issue that it is/was never going to be easy. But at least you sound like your both on the same page now and as you said not finger pointing. This makes me believe that maybe what your saying is true. But you mention what matters now is the staff, and rightly so. The people behind the scenes who have no idea of what will happen to their position. Like i said yesterday -10 points is 4 games to make up. Just 8% of the games, that is not that bad. But having no manager, no board, no finances, no season tickets, no players and generally no plans is far far more damaging to this club. We should be planning now for the season ahead. This is crucial to the clubs immediate future. So if the staff are the main priority then sign the deal and get on with it, minus 10 points does not effect the staff from a negative outcome or a positive one. The deal should not be about this point at all. In 2years time it will be forgotten, but if you pull out of the deal now at this hour after the amount of time and effort you have put in then that will not be forgotten.
  6. Anyone else starting to think this whole points deduction ******** is being used as a potential excuse to bail out of the deal? I fail to see what difference it makes if they want to buy the club or not. Naturally starting with minus 10 hinders you somewhat but not as much as starting with a crap squad, no manager, no season tickets, no board etc etc. Those are the things which are more damaging. These guys have had months now and should know everything there is to know about the club, its books and its positions. So i thik it is time now to put up or shut up. We all want you to takeover the club but don't fob us off saying you won't sign due to the points deduction.
  7. Is out this friday. As we are sports fans here i can imagine a few of you can't wait for this game too! Boxing is my favourite sport and i have done it since i was about 8. In those many years i think i have played all the boxing games there are. Loved Punch out/Evander Hollyfields Real Deal Boxing,George Forman's. Even the old Boxing Manager on amiga (wish they would do a new version of that!). So playing the demo i am very happy that it has gone the total punch system like in round 3 route. The level of realism in my book is the best i seen so far so fingers crossed this is the best boxing game of all time!
  8. We deserved it. Club and SLH same thing, SLH makes its money from the club. If club does bad then SLH does bad, they are the same. As my boss said on friday basically we are trying to find away around it. By doing that we are trying to cheat. The people who run the club fooked up. That was then, lets not let it ruin our now or future by trying to believe we don't deserve simply because there are two entities to the club. What worries me is that due to stupidity and daft morales we will not only lose the consortium we all want but be punished even further. Let us prove our points on the pitch.
  9. Got it from Blockbusters yesterday. While it's not exactly the most realistic 3rd person shooter around it is still an awesome game. I think if your a huge fan of the series then you look past the faults. It is so much fun and that is what games are about. Just walking around the HQ is quality as filled with little things from the films that you can interact with like for example the picture of vigo, who talks to you. Some classic Ghostbusters humour in here. So if your a fan your love it. Another thing is Eurogamer slated the PS3 version saying it was a poor port etc, but in all honesty having now played for a few hours i can't see any problems. The only annoying thing is the instal but hey you only do that once!
  10. The problem is people see it as a battle between the small man and the big man, like a kid standing his ground against a teacher etc. The reality is as Pahars said on the other thread SLH went into admin due to the performance of the club. If the club did well SLH would not be in admin. As complicated as people try to make the issue it is as simple as that. The two companies are the same. The club is an asset of SLH. One effects the other. Its is a morale thing now where people think we have been treated unfairly, we don't deserve to be punished. If we try and imagine ourselves not in the situation and imagine it was say Portsmouth in that situation would people still think the same? The FL is represented by every club, they all agree to the rules. We must assume at some point we ourselves agreed to that rule when it came into effect. No doubt we were in a better position then and admin seemed unlikely. To me it is like the criminal who was caught red handed but still denies he did it. They have all the evidence to convict him but it still must go to court and he will have people trying to defend him even know they know he did it. And after the conviction he still proclaims he is innocent and been treated unfairly. We broke one of the rules which we must of helped to create at some point and should just accept it. Take it on the chin and move on.
  11. Will just say what i said last time. Take the points deduction and be done with the whole saga once and for all. The whole case is about wether or not the two companies are the same, if they rely on one another. Does not take a legal genius to know that they do. SLH would not exist without the club. The club is more the parent company then SLH. What is the point in fighting that? We broke a rule and if it wasen't for Crouch and the Pinnacle money the club would of been in admin too. If we appeal and lose which personally i think we will then we risk getting a bigger punishment. With minus 10 we should still at least survive next season, then build on from there. The clubs future is more important then 10 points, it is more important then a morale who is right and who is wrong. We have no money, we went into admin, we should accept the punishment as have so many teams before us. Why should we be different? Take the points deduction, sign the deal and secure our longterm future. Who gives a **** if we start next year on minus 10? I would rather we had that then not start at all.
  12. Thank you for the update Tony. I know all too well these hic-cups that hinder the progress of deals being concluded. Im sure all of us appreciate the amount of time and effort you are putting into this deal along with Matt and Leon. The jigsaw will fit into place eventually and we will all be much better off for it. We have waited years for the end of the dark Lowe era so waiting hours or a few more days would be a price we would all gladly pay to see the end of it. Thank you for taking the time to inform us all.
  13. That would be Jim Ratcliffe right? The guy is a billionaire so i would be pretty happy if he were our new owner 25th richest man in UK.
  14. first name andrew?
  15. Reading that Times article when they mention Shearer,WGS,Curbishly and Keegan as our next manager just to me seems really sureal. So sureal that you just know some Pompey bastard somewhere is laughing his ass off or something as once again a false dawn turns us again into a national laughing stock when we announce Wotte on a 5 year contract etc. We are a club in admin, a club with no money, a club starting division 3 on minus 10 points. There is only one way one of those guys would come here and thats serious £££. Maybe the new mystery owner is a lot more wealthy then we thought?
  16. Wonder what the bookies are offering for Keegan to be manager then?
  17. I would normally come back asking what you mean but seeing as its you Scudamore i have no need too
  18. I wasent quoting that for you mate nickh said i made it up so just quoted it to prove him wrong what seem the 3 millionth time this year. But your 100% right the end result is what matters and right now all we have is speculation in regards to both owner and what will happen with the manager's position. There is a high chance the press could have done what the press do and make a mountain out of a molehill. Keegan could of been at Matt's for so many different reasons. But you would think by now his agent/spokesman would of come out and denied it if it really was no truth in it. What we do know for sure is at least tomorrow we will have some closure to this whole saga once and for all. Hopefully then we can get over our obsession of talking about chairman, directors and everyone else who we blame for our demise and finally at long last get back to talking about the one thing we all our here for in the 1st place and thats our football team. The politics has gone on for far to long!
  19. Unlike you nickh i actually speak the truth, I actually said what i said back in Alpines admin thread but for some reason its not in the archives on here. So here is when i said it in february http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=202319#post202319 This is what i said "If we go into admin we will see many people come out of the woodwork willing to buy the club because it will have no debts. It will look a better prospect to an investor then having to negotiate with lots of different people for their shares. The last thing the courts will want is to have to re-administrate the company again in a year or two. And with no money and the local population being hostile to Lowe that is what will happen. If he came in with some rich partner then that would be different but he has not done that in the 12 years he has been at the club so i don't see that changing one bit. Going into admin is not a punishment, the points deduction is the punishment. Right now this club is in admin in every way but title. We have had to sack a lot of staff, have had to cut player costs, manager costs, stadium costs etc etc the only difference is Lowe and Wilde get paid while if we were in admin they wouldn't. Now i'm not saying we should officially go into admin but if we are 10 points adrift we have to be honest and say we will not survive. I think a lot of us are nearing that realisation. If we could only win 6 of our games how will we win 50% of our 15 games that are left? Not very likely. If at that point admin guranteed we would be rid of Wilde and Lowe for good; and would mean we can stop the slide like Leeds did and teams like Hull before them did. Then again we have to be realistic and realise that taking the points deduction this year and being relegated is better then waiting to see if we survive then if we do get relegated then starting next year with a -10 start. So my opinion is that going into admin will actually not be any different to what we are currently suffering. We owe a lot of people money. The players we have are not worth what we think. The playing side to the club is the poorest it has ever been, the management side is the poorest it has ever been, the board is the poorest it has been, the attendence is the poorest it has been, the finances are the poorest it has been and so on and so on. If we drift further away from the teams above us then i would vote for going into admin and getting the people out of this club who have brought us here once and for all. This club will never go forward while they are here so the slide will continue. So i would wait for the next 3-4 games, see how they go. If we lose them and are around 10 points adrift i think we will have to accept we are down and going into admin will be the only way to stop the slide further." How ironic though looking at that post, you said "We are not dead yet we have been in a lot worse positions than this before" Lookslike you have a habbit of being wrong about everything doesnt it
  20. Nah i was one of the few who said admin was the best option for us, i was one of the crazy few who tried to explain to people that we were already in admin in everything but name. The club was in pure freefall. The team was awful, the staff were hated and nothing would change. It was just a slow death of blood dripping bit by bit. People see the word admin and they assume all these horrible things. They don't understand the point of it. The reality was as i said multiple times that this club would be bought out once in admin. The question simply was by who? I don't think any of us would of thought a big money man like what we see at Chelsea would buy us but someone with maybe a few million to invest. Someone to steady the ship and start the slow climbing process back to where we were. So admin is not something you want to do, but from a buisness analyst point of view the club was never going to recover without a huge financial injection. It was clear the two board of WIlde and Lowe would not put that cash in nor find someone else to put it in. So without that we would just keep dropping and dropping like other teams have done. Going into admin has given us a chance to finally go forwards.
  21. What im trying to work out is this. Basically if Keegan comes to be our manager then i cant see him being that without someone telling him he has a bit of cash to spend. I just cant see him being our manager through nostalgia of once playing for us. So if he has been told there will be cash then that makes me think how rich this secret guy buying us is. Because lets be honest here if the type of profile were going for is ex England manager standard then they must have a few bob, we were all thinking Tisdale etc..Lets hope it turns out to be true. It would be the best thing to happen to this club for such a long time. It would also prove beyond a doubt that going into admin was right and more good came from it then harm. Im sure if you asked most Saints fans what would they rather have Keegan as manager, lots of money, no Lowe or Wilde but a minus 10 start in league one. Or bugger all money, Wotte as manager, Lowe and WIlde as Chairman and strugling to survive at the bottom of the CCC then they would choose the 1st option. So lets hope this really comes true, Saints fans have suffered enough for too long. Time for things to change, its our turn!
  22. Yes he got Fulham promoted from league 1 to the CCC, then left to concentrate fully on England job. So not only has he managed in league one he has got a team promoted from it
  23. Sky have many insider type people in the football world, guess that goes with paying the billions they have for the years they have to the clubs. From an analysts point of view i would trust them more then say BBC or that other highly accurate news source the Daily Echo So what they are reporting is true as we already know they had a meeting with him. What we don't know is what that was a meeting for. Maybe they asked him to join the consortium, become an abassador to the club, have a deal with his football schools etc etc. Whatever role he has just being at the club has to be a good thing. If he was to takeover as manager then that could only be a stroke of genius by Crouch,MLT or whoever will be paying the bill. In division three i doubt were get many players able to draw the crowds back, but by having a legend as a manager people would come back in their droves to see Keegan return.
  24. I would be delighted if he was the manager. Would be the type of guy we would need. Knows the area, knows what the club means to us and is a Saints legend. Im sure he would do very well for us. And if MLT is chairman he will not interfere in that side ala Lowe/Ashley etc. But i think in reality he would not want the job. Someone i know spoke to him at a works event a few months ago and asked him who he would like to manage next and he said he can't see himself managing again. Has other things like a soccer school which brings him more joy. But as he always said prior to going back to Newcastle you never know in football. Someone could see us as a challenge they might be interested in. But i just can't see it. Would be awesome if he did!
  25. So then those people who got it, what you think? any good? I have yet to pick this up but might do as i loved the films and used to have some of the old games back in the day! Im guessing its not quite call of duty?
