Thanks for taking the time to inform us of the goings on i think we all appreciate it. You said that we can ask questions and you will put them to the guys who want to buy the club. A question i have is what do they think about Wotte and if they do buy the club will they keep him on or replace him?
-
The guy has got many teams relegated including us. If he can't get the team we had playing then i doubt he will get one of even lower quality playing. As i said at the start of the season if this dutch system failed in Holland how will it work in England? It obviously didn't. The guy brings nothing to the table that will benefit our club. As mentioned we need a clean sweep. Nobody from the old regime should remain including Crouch and Lawrie. A new start with new people. Because if it goes wrong next season people will say it is because he was kept on. The fact is he had almost half a season. If he had a full season his points ratio would of still seen us down. He did not save us and never looked like he would. He himself said he would resign if we went down and of course he hasen't. Because even being in the 3rd tier in England is a better job then he would ever be offered elsewhere. His performances were as good as his word.

My 1st one sounded a bit like it was about to take off. Then it died.... My 2nd one sounded like it had something stuck in it that made the disc make a noise. Then it died..... The 3rd one however sounds pretty silent! Think they changed the fans and stuff in the newer ones. So hopefully this one lasts longer then a year before it dies.

Ah well guess those saying it were right then! Sounds interesting having football on your 360. If it works though is something toally different

Well its that time of year again! For those who don't know or don't care this is the major electronics show of the year. Anyone and everyone who has been keeping what they been up to a secret comes to this show to reveal everything! So in terms of games this is the xmas day of the games world. Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft will all have their own gigantic press conferences where they will unveil their games for the holidays of this year and beyond. So what can we expect? We'll the law of E3 is to expect the un-expected. Last year for example Square Enix dropped da bomb that Final Fantasy was no longer a Sony exclusive franchise. So if a long established massive $$$ making franchise can move home then anything can happen! The media at this time all get hyper excited and come up with some predictions. These predictions are all based on info they may have heard. Some will be true and some will not. Here are what a few of them are saying Gamespot - http://e3.gamespot.com/?om_act=convert&om_clk=picks&tag=picks;title;1 IGN - http://uk.e3.ign.com/ G4TV - http://g4tv.com/e32009/splash.aspx The conferences are spread out across the week however Microsoft's will be on 1st of June at 5.30pm. Nintendo's will be on Tuesday at 5pm and Sony's will also be on Tuesday at 7pm. Of course there are millions of other conferences with the bigger ones normally being from EA,Capcome,Square Enix,Take Two etc. With only few day's to go we already know a few things. Konami have been teasing about a new game which some are predicting to be Metal gear Solid 5. The teaser is here http://www.konami.jp/kojima_pro/next/index.html Also other news is supposedly Microsoft and Sky have teamed up to bring Sky TV channels to the Xbox 360. Another step closer for Microsoft's vision of making the console an entertainment system rather then just a games console. So lots to look forward to. Many good games to be unveiled. Me personally i just hope they show some footage of Alan Wake seeing as it was E3 2006 we last heard about it! Will try and keep this updated for us computer nerds

We will get bought out eventually. Having worked in business along time i have seen some of the most ill run companies destined for the scrap heap still get bought out. One man's crap is another man's gold and all that. However we are unlucky in that we are in a bad recession right now. If this was a few years ago then things would of been different. So i think we will be sold eventually just it wont be to a rich guy like we all want. We could be back in the same situation in a year or two. Or if the financial world recovers then we would be prime for takeover.

2 weeks on and he still not resigned like he said he would if he got us relegated. Hopefully whoever takesover us will give him the push as i assume he is on just a rolling contract so no comp will be paid.

How is it unacceptable? For the club to get that £2m all that had to happen was Wilde to resign and Jan and Wotte to leave. Crouch and Lowe would be the chairman of the PLC and Football Club. Considering the club had been in the relegation zone for 5 months and didn't ever looklike getting out of it Wilde's position was un-tenable. He was the football club chairman. Asking for the chairman to resign with those stats under his chairmanship is normal. Remember Wilde said the same thing a month or two before the end of the season last year about Crouch? Difference being Crouch had been Chairman for just 2 months while Wilde has been Chairman for a year. Even to this day i wonder why Wilde actually returned as he did nothing, offered nothing for the club. If it was my business and i was on the verge of going under and i knew £2m could save it if i had to quit as chairman i would do it. Because what would staying on achieve? The same applies to the club. If Wilde left we would of had £2m. But he didn't. He thought he was more important then the club using £2m.

That is the gamble of buying shares really. It is like betting, if the investment does well you get the rewards. But if it does bad you lose. Normally what happens is the company gets sold to the buyer as a whole thing. All those who had shares lose out. So if this is true and does indeed happen then someone will get a club for £8m. They will be the sole owner (or owners if its a consortium). However the question then is what about the other £20m of debt. In a lot of cases the new owners take on a large amount of that debt and plan to pay it back over a period of time. Or the debt was settled with one payment, which could be the £8m. There are a lot of variations but i would hazzard a business guess that the new owners will be paying £8m to decrease the debt by nearly 30% the take on maybe another 30% of the debt (£8m) which will be paid back. I don't think anyone would want to buy the club and take on all its debts. You could get other clubs higher up the leagues for less the £30m. So the banks know they wont recoup all the money owed but they would try and get as much as possible. Fry i think must have a lot of pressure on his shoulders for sure.

Forgot God of War 3 too If it comes this year fingers crossed. -
Have to agree the orgional post was very misleading. If you actually read what the Echo said they said he offered 2 deals. The main point of the deal was Crouch said he would loan the club £2m indefinatly until the club can afford to pay it back when it feels it can. For this £2m to be put into the club Wilde must resign and walk away and Crouch would be re-instated as Football Chairman while Lowe will remain as PLC chairman but have zero influence or power on the football side. The other part was for Jan and Wotte to be fired with them paying them off not the club. Which is fair enough in my book. That was the deal that was offered and was rejected by Lowe and Wilde.

Final Fantasy wont be coming until 2010 at the earliest. It should in theory be released in Japan in december this year. They then work on changing it for the other places i.e hire actors etc. Number 12 was released in Japan in march 2006, but didnt come out until feb 2007 here. So personally i think we are probably looking at 2011 before we get our hands on it sadly. -
Have to laugh about him saying Smith is world class and comparing him to Ronaldo. Would Man Utd release Ronaldo you think?
-
Think all xbox games work in all regions if i remember right. So technically you could order from play usa or play asia and it will still work. In theory.
-
Sony have paid for timed exclusive in europe for this game now so only the PS3 and PC versions will be available on 1st day. All the other versions will come out "later in the year". But it does not effect America so can just import from there if you not got a PS3
-
Great read, thanks for that

E3 is only like 3 weeks away now. That will be when we find out all the new games coming out for all the formats. Will be a really good one this year because rumour has it that Sony Microsoft and Nintendo have a lot of titles to show. Microsoft said "They will empty the bank at e3" so will be interesting to see what that means. Games i'll be getting for sure are Fight Night Round 4 as i love boxing obviously. Mafia 2 will be quality. Eidos will be announcing Thief 4 on 11th may so will get that. Gran Turismo 5 if it comes this year. Forza 3 for sure. Operation Flashpoint 2. Diablo 3. The game i want the most is Alan Wake, that game will probably set the new benchmark in terms of graphics and physics for games, only problem is i doubt it will come this year, been in development over 5 years already! Also wouldn't mind Assasins Creed 2 but i have still not finished the first one! -
Guess were be stuck with the crap like Pullis,Smith and Molyneux then?

I am quite surprised it is as one sided as it is. As i thought a lot of people liked the guy and had confidence in him as he got those three wins back to back. But the harsh reality is the guy has done awful in every aspect of the job. He failed to motivate the players. Didn't get the team playing we'll at all. Didn't get any consistency going. Came across as a complete arse in his match comments. I will never forget his remarks saying Lowe was doing a good job and the fans were to blame etc. His team selections were very Burley like with people in foreign positions. He had 18 games and in those 18 games our defence fell apart letting in a massive 27 goals. That is 1.5 goals against a game. Jan had exactly the same goals scored against ratio with 42 goals from his 28 games. So the myth is he sorted the defence out. Add to that he gained a player Jan did not have who contributed 6 goals makes his goals for record look better then it really is. We scored 22 goals while he was in charge. If we take away Sagas 6 goals that makes 16 goals from 18 games. That makes his ratio of goals a game 0.88 without Sagas goals. That is worse then Jans goals record for as he has 26 goals from 28 games which is 0.92 goals a game. So without Saga Wotte would have done worse then Jan did without him. Add to that when Jan left us we were 3 points away from safety where as we finish under Wotte 6 points from Safety. So in trying to find something to be positive in with the guy there is nothing. All areas he has done poor in. No area has he done well in or given any indication he could be good. As far as im concerned the guy should take a huge chunk of the blame for us going down.

Boxing - Pacman V Hatton, Froch V Taylor
St Marco replied to revolution saint's topic in General Sports
Agree with you 100% revolution saint. Ricky should retire now. He has been a good servant for english sport but he is just not at that superfight level. His two fights at that level have been nothing but a severe beating. He has owned the ring at his weight for so long but everything must come to an end. The guys at the top are pure fighters designed to hit and not be hit. The old guard of the Hatton style just can't compete with that. If you allow yourself to be hit your just asking to get brain damage. So i really hope Hatton walks away. He has made so much money he will never have to work ever again. If he keeps going it will be for greed reasons and i think that will damage his legacy and the respect the fans have for him. Mayweather Marquez will be a great fight. The Marquez Pacman fights were awesome. Whoever wins that fight i hope faces Pacman. Two more super fights would be great! -
I mean on his performance as manager in his near half a season in charge. Based on his performance regardless of owner etc a clear no. If we need a guy to manage on a shoe string next season and get players playing better then they are he is clearly not a guy who can do that. He has failed simple as that. And because of that he should have the dignity to resign like he said he would. But he would never get another job at this level even league one level. So he wont just walk.
-
Yes or No My view is a clear no. Wotte has been crap. If he was in charge from the start of the season he would of still got us relegated. He had 18 games which is only 5 short of half a season. Was here from pre-season and knows the players. 19 points from 18 games x 46 = 48 points. Which would still have resulted in relegation.

Boxing - Pacman V Hatton, Froch V Taylor
St Marco replied to revolution saint's topic in General Sports
Can't wait for this fight. Has the potential to be a classic if the ref doesn't turn out to be a gimp like Ortez or whatever his name was. But he is the ref who did Hatton's fight with Paulie so he knows Hatton's style at least. Have massive respect for both fighters. Have been fortunate enough to meet Pacman and my general opinion of him was very humble man. A genuine guy who found his calling in life. Very much like Hatton. Won't get these two disrespecting one another or trying to be-little the other. So it will be interesting to see how it turns out. As for a winner i think that could be either as depends on a lot. At some point Pac will be hit with a body shot. he won't be able to go 12 rounds without that happening. Hatton is the biggest and strongest guy he has fought and in terms of body shoters Ricky is probably the most devastating. If he can take that shot and be alright then Pacman will win. He has the speed and agility. He will look to box rather then get in a war. The question then becomes how will Hatton deal with taking a lot of punches and giving little back. Many people have fought Manny and lost interest around the 8th round when they been hit about 100 times in the head and landed nothing back. I have a feeling this could be another one of those fights. So as much as i would love to see Hatton win i just think his only chance is to knockout Pacman. The problem is getting close enough to do that. In Mayweather Snr he has a trainer who will help him with his defence, possibly the best defensive coach alive. But in Roach Manny has a true genius tactitian. So for Hatton to win i think he has to gamble and try and get close to him. That means taking a lot of punches in the process. If he lands with a few body shots and his brutal uppercut then that will be it for Manny. But i can't see it going that way. I think it will be Manny on his toes jabbing then retreating like he has done time and time again. So i see this going to points and Pacman winning by a fair bit. -
Thought Wotte said he would resign if he failed to keep us up?
