It really depends on how much money you want to spend. If you want to watch films and intend to buy Blu-Ray's then buying a PS3 just for that is no longer the cheapest route. Blu-Ray players have dropped in price a lot and continue to drop. Like for example you can get this one for £49.99 at Tesco http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-6218.aspx. They are all the same in terms of viewing. If you got the new 360 for £149.99 (which has Wi-Fi included) and that Blu Ray player it is still £50-£100 cheaper then the cheapest PS3. PS3 has free online but that doesn't mean it is good. Anyone who bought Black Ops recently will tell you just how bad the online has been. But it really depends how much you plan on using it. If it is just now and then it is better then having to pay an additional £5 a month just to use Xbox live. However if you are interested in just the games then in my opinion the PS3 has the better line up of exclusives. Uncharted 2 is up there with the greatest games of all time. That is not saying the 360 doesn't have good games it just means that the PS3 exclusives tend to be pretty good and stay exclusive where as 360 exclusive games have a habbit of being just a timed exclusive. But if your someone who intends to buy a lot of multi-platform games then 360 wins hands down. A lot of PS3 games are ports of the 360 version. Games such as Red Dead Redemption and Fifa are made with the 360 as the lead platform then ported over to PS3. So it really can be hit and miss with some multi-platform games on PS3. The other thing to consider is the extras to the consoles. By this i mean the internet movie and music type things. On PS3 you have LoveFilm which means you can stream films from their service to your tv if you have a subscription with them. However these movies are not in HD and the list is pretty dire. There are no new films on there. 360 on the other hand has Sky Player. So if you have a Sky subscription you can watch on demand pretty much anything. From new films to Documentaries. You can also watch ESPN which has football and american sports if your into that. You can also watch live tv on it but i not tried that. It really all boils down to what you want to use it for and how much you want to spend. If you have a mrs then getting the 360 with Kinect and Dance Central will win her over. But you can't go wrong with either of them.

Because the games are digital copies not physical ones. And the various publishers know that the steam sales are really popular so they try and out do each other. Which is great for us!
-
The sale lasts until 2nd of January. But there are 2 types of sales. You got the titles that will stay reduced until the 2nd. Which tend to be older games. Then you got the daily sales which are newer games or games with a big reduction and that lasts only 24hrs. The new ones get put up at 6pm every day until the 2nd.

Pretty sweet. They have Super Meat Boy for £3, it only released the other day and has a 90% metacritic score. It is a great game and is well addictive. Fear 2 for £2.49 is pretty good too! Hopefully FM11 gets put in the daily deals as still not picked it up yet.
-
http://store.steampowered.com/ They will go up on there eventually but the site is being killed. Probably best to wait i'd say.
-
The site is getting hammered There are over 9000 reductions aparently A few that have been spotted are Battlefield Bad Company 2 = £6

Steam Xmas Sales Should start in about an hour. Got GTA4 for like £4 last xmas sale so hopefully will be some good ones this year too!

I think most people are sane enough to realise you can't judge a manager on just a few months worth of games. However i think some people need to realise what Adkins is here for. He is here to get the team promoted THIS season. He is not here to build a team to get promotion next season. The team we have now is one of the best in the league. Comparing how he has started life here compared to how Pardew started life here is just silly. When Pardew came in we were a team with a dire first team squad with many of the better players moved on to help with the clubs finances. We had no coaching staff and the structure behind the scenes was pretty awful. Pardew over time changed those things. Adkins on the other hand came in with one of the best squads already in place, a cup winning team. One that the season before only just missed the playoffs. There was a coaching set up and the set-up behind the scenes was a lot stronger and more proffesional. What he will be judged on is his ability to change games when things are not going so well, his tactics, team selections and of course the results. He has made a good start to life at this club. And we all must back him 100%. But if he makes bad decisions like he has now on a couple of occasions then he has to take some responsibility for that. The same goes with certain players, if they are not pulling their weight for the club then drop them. Thinking of replacing someone so soon is just mental. But questioning some of his decisions i think is pretty valid as isn't that what fans are supposed to do? To not expect those things i find more crazy!

What a fight, what a fecking fight! Khan must of took like 6 bombs to the chin and still managed to survive. Well done Khan. You did Britain proud.
-
yes we did http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/teams/Southampton.html We had 1 game called off but even if we win that game we still would of been 1 point behind last season Our record last year was 20 games, 8 wins, 8 draws and 4 losses. Scoring 35 goals in the process = 32 points This season played 19, won 8, 4 draws, 7 losses. Scoring 25 goals in the process = 28 points.

Degale seriously could go on to be one of the best British fighters of all time. 9th fight and British champion. The thing is he is hated because he is arogant, a bit like how Naz was. But eventually i think they will realise he just has faith in his own ability and warm to him. That uppercut he got him with was vicious.
-
About 2am i think, they got an awesome undercard on the las vegas bill too. The Victor Ortiz fight should be good. I hope Smith wins this fight but De Gale is a class act, he will become a world champion for sure.
-
The thing is though when he left us we were in 7th place, i not looked at the table today but we started the day in 8th so obviously we must still be around there. This time last year we actually had 4 more points then we have now. So if we underachived last season what are we doing now?
-
Going to be a really good night of boxing tonight! De Gale vs Smith hate each other so should be good. But Khan Maidana could be one of the fights of the year. Maidana is one of the most powerful fighters around. Like having bricks for fists. His body shots are brutal and if he connects with the right hook Khan will be going to hospital. 30 fights, 27 knockouts, 22 of those being in the first 3 rounds. If you not seen the guy before watch this. This is a huge test for Khan. It is a massive gamble because he has been down a few times before and has been labelled as having a glass chin. The media beat him down for it and think it will hold him back in his career. So putting him in with the biggest puncher will either show those critics right or proove them wrong. Khan will use his speed and move all night. He will throw the jab and move. It is hard to imagine Khan knocking Maidana out as nobody has done that, he is like a tank. So you have to think this will be a 12 round fight. You also have to think there is no way Khan can dodge being hit for 12 rounds, at some point he is going to get hit. If he stands and trades with Maidana he will die, if he gets cornered up against the ropes he will get his ribs broken. The only chance he has is to hit and move and hope to win on points. This fight will determine if he really has learnt under Roach and Pacman and eradicated his weaknesses. If he can win this fight we could be looking at Khan vs Mayweather next year. I hope Khan wins. The guy has taken a lot of flak over the years, i like most have doubted his ability. But huge credit to him, he has stepped up and is fighting one of the best fighters out there. And if he wins then he will fight the winner of Bradley/Alexander and unify the division. Unlike a lot of other fighters he hasen't taken the easy route. Another great fight on the card will be Kell Brooks fight. If he wins he will be the number 1 contender to Pacman! Doubt he will get that fight though somehow...

Have to agree. While we are talking about our team you have to give a lot of credit to Brentford. They came to play and were very positive. They had the desire to get the ball and tried to go forward. Even when at 0-2 they still went forward. They out classed us in every area and it is a good lesson to our players. If you have the wrong attitude and can't be arsed then you deserve to lose. So well done to Brentford, they did a professional job on us.

Lambert is the corner stone of the team and the system. We look to him to get the flick ons, the nod downs and to obviously score goals. To be fair to him he put more energy in then he has recently but his whole body language and attitude looks wrong. I honestly think that is in some part affecting the team. There was a cross that Lallana did and the Lambert of last year would of got on the end of it and probably scored. He didn't go for it and walked back. Lallana looked across at him and shook his head. It makes me think that maybe the rest of the team are getting slightly frustrated with him now. I honestly do think that if everybody was fit then he should be dropped with Barnard and Conolly starting. Maybe some time out of the team will do him some good. And more importantly us. But while people are injured we don't have much choice.
-
No it isn't good. As i said in the other thread it is like Burley has come back. Lambert has turned into Rasiak/John. We rely on him which is great when they are in form, but if they aren't then we struggle. Someone said that is 7 games now without scoring. God knows how many since he scored from free play. We can't play another way. If he is down then take him off, change the system. The tactic changes and subs were just stupid today. The whole point of having subs is so you can either replace injured/knackered people or change the system. We don't seem to make the most of what is on the bench. The next few games are huge, we have Walsall and Charlton away. Walsall are bottom and Charlton are near the top. But after that we have Huddersfield again. So basically 2 of the next 3 games are against teams in the top 4. If we play like that then we will lose and be pretty much looking at playoffs rather then auto promotion.
-
Brentford = Loss Brighton = Draw Peterborough = Win Carlisle = Loss So thats 4 points from last 12.
-
4 points from the last 12. Not good enough.
-
I said it before and i will say it again. We haven't improved under him "yet". Our wins of late have been against poor teams and we have had a lot of luck. When we come up against teams who want to play we don't do so well, Brighton,Carlisle, Huddersfield and now Brentford. You can talk about home runs or winning stats but the real number that is important is we have now got 4 points from the last 12. That is not promotion level. What he does now will define our season in my opinion. Lambert is out of form and the fact we rely so much on him is screwing us. It is like what happened with Rasiak and John. We can't seem to play another way and in that regards it is like Burley is in charge again. When teams come and want to play, chase the ball down and put in the energy we become un-stuck, we lack ideas and get frustrated. Today a lot of players made mistakes so you can't place all the blame at Adkins but he had no plan B just like Burley. His subs were wrong and changed it so late it was pointless, again like Burley. So far i don't think he comes across like a man manager, watching him on the line he doesn't seem to do much, a few shouts here and there, again very much like Burley. The team we have is good enough to get promoted. It should get promoted. Right now things have to improve.

BBC state Pardew get Newcastle job within 24 hrs.
St Marco replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
I don't think it was the obsession with wanting to win the JP that screwed us. It was having a poor pre-season and not having a settled team until after the 2nd transfer window shut. If we had a few more games we would of got into the top 6 for sure. It just wasen't to be. This time last year we had 32 points, 4 more then we have now. We just don't start seasons well. -
Feel sorry for the guy. But as others have mentioned time to move on. You can't really have a player who plays a few games a year in your squad. If he is injury prone in his early twenties then it will just get worse as the body doesn't recover as quick as he gets older. Better to give the chance to one of the youngsters now i think.

Goodluck to him. When he came here we were a complete shambles in freefall. Had a dire squad, no coaching staff pretty much. Pretty amateurish set up to be honest. He brought in our current squad and had one of our best seasons since dropping out of the PL. I am sure most people would agree compared to what we had seen in the previous few years it was actually enjoyable to watch the football again. Add to that a great day out at Wembley and for a lot of us watching Saints win our first cup in our lifetimes. He left with the highest win ratio of a Saints manager since 1897. I don't think he did anything to warrent bad feeling towards him. He is a good manager and it would not surprise me one bit to see him do well at Newcastle. I hope he does. -
Very good interview. What gets me about this place is people are so quick to bash people based on a rumour. Which pretty much every time turns out to be wrong. I trust NC as others have mentioned. Reason why is because he seems honest and on the level. His year and a bit here has been so much better then what we have had since droppng out the PL, we went to Wembley and won our first trophy for 30+ years. Would people seriously prefer the whole Lowe/Crouch/Wilde era again? When people make up a rumour or talk bad about him have you noticed they do so from the shadows? Nobody wants to come out in public and say he is doing a bad job or he has done something wrong. Instead they stay hidden in secrecy, throwing little bits of info to various places such as The Echo and on here and some people buy into it. If these people had some balls they would come out and say who they are and tell it as it is. Reason they won't do that is because chances are they know they will be in court pretty quick over it. So some people question why do you trust him. Its not so much a case of trusting him, more so of not trusting the people who talk about him from the shadows and spread rumours. As others have mentioned, they seem like past staff who moved on and feel sour about it. Or people who under the old regimes would get something for nothing out of the club. I am glad these people are gone from the club. We looklike we are being run properly for a change, and some people just can't seem to handle that.

Could ask him if they have any plans to expand St Marys at all within that 5 year plan
