Interesting read. Pretty much covers most of the rumours going around which once again turn out to be ********. Not up for sale, players not leaving, the atmosphere at the club is better, people think Adkins is doing well, think we can and will get auto promotion and still have the 5 year plan. But the thing that stands out most for me is the comment about doing something in the PL. Nice positive stuff. But i wonder what people will make up next week. That he cancelled xmas or something no doubt.

In case anyone is interested here is how the votes went Round 1 England 2 votes, Netherlands/Belgium 4 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 9 votes. No overall majority reached, so the candidate with least amount of votes, England, eliminated. Round 2 Netherlands/Belgium 2 votes, Spain/Portugal 7 votes and Russia 13 votes. Russia obtained an overall majority, so awarded the tournament. Interesting how 2 people who voted for Netherlands/Belgium in the first round then voted for Russia in the 2nd round even though Netherlands/Belgium were still in it. Looking at the votes that way it could appear that the voters wanted England to be last hence why then changed their votes after we were out....
-
Confirmed now we actually only got 2 votes....and i assume one of those was from the English guy.

The media involvement of the last week or so has not exactly helped. As they are talking on the news now we do have a habbit of shooting ourselves in the foot at the worst possible times. The programmes, the newspapers journalists shouting at the delegates as they got out of cars, asking about corruption. The pitch invasion and so on. The press has not really done us any favours in the last week in my opinion.
-
Exactly. It looks as though the media ruined it for us. The fifa voters have been hanging around each other for years. They travel together to see the places bids. They are like a group of friends who at the centre is a guy who has been against English football for years. The last thing we wanted to do was **** them off and give him an excuse. And the BBC obviously did that. But for what? The viewing figures they would of got during an England World Cup would of been huge.
-
Nice one BBC, nice one.....Why couldn't they have done a programme about corruption in Russia!
-
I am sure i saw him come out. Acording to the report he was subbed 1min into 2nd half. EDIT: Scrap that he did come off at half time. Forget what i said then. I guess we will find out soon enough if true or not.
-
I was there like many. And i have just one question really. The bust up didn't happen on the pitch as we would of seen it. So it happened at half time in the changing room. If there was a bust up and Adkins was that offended why did he send him back out to start the 2nd half only to sub him. And when he got subbed why was he not looking ****ed off as he came off? If he had a bust up he probably would of done the evil shake of the head aimed at him as he came off. I don't remember seeing anything like that. Sounds like bull**** to me.

But do those people who are overseas pay a licence fee? The reality is people now pay for things like Sky, which can be costly if you get all the packages. Things like Virgin/Bt Vision etc. And the internet. If you add the TV licence to that it all starts to add up. There are so many different ways of watching tv now that it is a reasonable question to ask. Is it worth it? I don't watch much tv these days but when i do it is very rarely something on the BBC. Just looking at tomorrows line up you got Children in Need the best bits, Strictly Come Dancing, The National Lottery, Casualty and then after the 10pm news you got Match of the Day. Which i think is probably the only thing guys will watch on there on a saturday. Of course you could watch BBC 2 and watch all the repeats etc. With things like Sky you can pretty much watch anything you want, when you want. You want sports then go watch the sports channels, same with movies, documentaries, music and so on. With BBC you can't really get that because they have to try and make everyone happy. They are a Jack of trades but a master of none. In this day and age i just think it is wrong to force people to pay for something they might not even use.

Can get it for £32.99 from Blockbuster online http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/blockbuster-4-off-gran-turismo-5-ps/804570#comments. Probably be able to sell it to CEX for that amount.

It was a great fight. Manny is one of the best of all time for sure. To win a world title at one weight is good going, to win at eight is just unbelievable. We are lucky to be alive to witness someone like that. I just hope now he can get the Mayweather fight sorted out as really there is nowhere else for him to go. Maybe he should fight Haye or one of the Klitchkos! Margarito though is one hard bastard. He took so many power shots to the head and kept on going. Soon as the fight ended he had to go to hospital to have his cut inspected. When he was there he was told he had busted his eye socket badly. He didn't know until he was told! Hard as nails.
-
The ref really saved his ass there. Now let's hope Haye will fight one of the Klitchkos. I think the Pacquiao vs Margarito fight tonight will be much much better then that.
-
http://vip---tv.yolasite.com/ Reason i posted that is sky box office is down so you can't book it over the phone. So rather then let people miss out thought i'd post a link to help those people On paper Haye will destroy Harrison. But sometimes fights don't go that way. Harrison really only has one chance and that is to land the big left like he did against Sprott. Haye leaves himself open a lot and if he goes in wreckless then he could get knocked out. So in my opinion it all boils down to how Haye fights. If he goes in gun blazing he could get caught. If he goes in and tries to do the jab and run tactic like he has in previous fights then he will win on points and it will be a total snoozefest. For Harrison to win Haye has to come in feeling the pressure and making mistakes. That is what is great about boxing is that it can happen. It happened with Lennox vs Rahman, it can happen at anytime. I hope it doesn't as i can't stand Harrison, but wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Haye get caught and go down.

There is a secret game inside the game, just thought i'd share it with you
-
So then explain, how does having no photo on The Daily Echo from the game effect "the fans"?
-
Total rubbish that it hurts the fans. We live in the internet age for christ sake. If a fan wants to read a match report then they can on all the news websites. Better yet if they want to watch the highlights they can at anytime on the bbc sports page. There are so many ways to find out about Saints now. You can even find the match reports in The Echo. Just because they don't have a picture an Echo photographer had taken at the game to acompany the article doesn't effect anyone at all. I imagine there are very few Saints fans out there who can't watch the match reports on South Today or watch the highlight football show, can't read the match reports online at the various websites, can't listen to match reports on the radio. That would be someone without a radio, internet or tv. Which in this day and age is just ******** that they don't have access to those things. And if they don't then why would they care about newspapers?

Great game and great win. Alex is the type of player Puncheon should of been for us this season. So you have to give Adkins huge praise for making the decision to drop Puncheon. The guy has potential but it just isn't going well. AOC gave their defence the run around all game. The type of player you really don't want to play against as he can make you look a total mug with his skill. And the great thing is he is only going to get better and we don't need to sell him like we have had to in the past. Chaplow and Hammond also deserve a mention as they played very well together. I would like to see that continued into a few more games. So good win. Let's hope we can keep it going now until the end of the season!
-
Adkins has done very well since he has been here. He seems a nice guy and knows what he is talking about. However i was at the game yesterday and like a few games before that we are not playing well. Our results recently have boiled down to a lot of luck rather then actually deserving to win them out right. Too many players are looking out of sorts and we are no longer running midfield like we used to. But it is early days still and you have to give him the time to get it right because personally i think he will get it right.
-
Personally i thought it wasn't a good performance overall. Up until the last 15mins or so we looked average. Players making mistake after mistake. Passes going to nobody, losing possession very easily. We lacked ideas going forward and in my opinion lacked the ability to take players on. Credit to Oldham they had a plan and they tried to attack, they didn't come and park everyone in the goal like other teams. They passed it about well and kept it when needed to. Looking at the stats i am not surprised to see they had more possession then us. The first half we were not in the game at all. If we had gone in 0-1 at half time you could not argue that Oldham would of deserved it. We never looked like winning until we took off Lambert and put young Alex on. He gave the team the spark and ideas, upped the tempo. His shot that hit the post was so unlucky. But he deserved his goal for his effort. Credit has to go to Nigel for changing it about. His decisions paid off. The last 15mins was all us but at the death Kelvin pulled off a massive save. How many times over the past year or two would we have seen that go in and end up with a draw? So not a great performance, the team has to improve if we are to be promoted, they need to cut out the mistakes. A win is a win and i will take that everytime.
-
Would not be surprised to see him maybe take over at Crystal Palace when Burley get's sacked again. GL to the man, shame it never worked out for him. Still think he is a decent manager. Just makes some bad signings really.

See there you go again Rob. Attack attack attack! One word being different doesn't change the reasoning behind saying it. As let's behonest here, chances are i might have seen a game of football at some point in my life right? So me calling you out on that now makes me "weird, sensitive, schizoid little freak, paranoid, no intellect" etc...so adding those to the others that is a pretty long list of faults i have! You are the one who *****es at what i say, not the other way round rob. I make a comment, you then reply to it normally with insults. 99% of the time it will be because of something i have said about PES in a negative way. Normally a valid way. You are the one who then insults me or throws in some total werid remark like "jizz in your pants"....and you say i am immature?? The reality is Rob you disagree with what i say, fair enough. But you can't handle the fact that my opinion differs from yours and rather then accept it you go for the insult. That is what you do. Everyone knows that is what you do. You don't just do it here you do it in nearly every post you make. The difference between me and you Rob (other then our obvious ages) is that if i am going to bash someone i do it in real life. I don't sit behind a computer and call people names because quite frankly that is pretty sad. So you can call me all the things under the sun from the comfort of your computer chair. That makes you a real man! But your right, it isn't the responsible thing, it is silly and pathetic. For that reason i will no longer comment about games as quite honestly i can't be arsed. If every thread is going to turn into a ***** fest then what is the point.
-
What a total load of ********. I don't know how to take abuse? What are you 5? As i said i normally let you or the9 dish out the insult and i won't bite back. Go back over both threads and your see that. But not just those threads, any threads. Like your attack in your previous post "you don't play football or maybe have never seen a match". What was the purpose of saying that? None other then to insult me. You call that banter? You must have a whole load of friends if that is how you communicate with someone who shares a different view to you. As for the psychological profiling, who are you Clarice Starling? Listen to yourself. Just because i don't share your view must mean i don't have a maths GCSE, have no authority, am not objective, am from a year 7 debating class, i read the daily mail, sulk when i don't get my way, can't play golf, was picked on at school and say nothing of value? And you say i need to grow up? I would dissect what you said but what is the point? You clearly have mental problems. The forum isn't dying because people can't take insults Rob, it is dying because people like you can't engage in conversation without throwing your toys out your pram. If you can't win an argument or counter one you just go for the insult. People don't find that funny. If your an 18 year old virgin then maybe. As for the man up line that is quite ironic coming from you. You can say what you like about me but you come across as some snotty little ginger teen who probably jerks off all day to pictures on the internet. The question is what pictures are they, sheep or women?
-
Its not about a game it is about the constant *****ing. If you read pretty much every reply those guys say it has some snide remark in it aimed at me or an opinion of mine. It isn't just with me though they do it on all the sections of the forum. Rob in particular is one of the culprits of why the forum is dying on its ass. Read his post history. Very friendly.

http://www.next-gen.biz/features/pro-evolution-soccer-2011-review "Player movement doesn’t look or feel natural and - going back to that ball-through-chest miracle - the ball itself doesn’t feel like an independent object set loose in open space; rather, an animated sphere that's slave to scripted movement. It feels like a clockwork approximation of football, lacking the grace, variety and scope of FIFA" http://www.orange.co.uk/games/20092.htm " The ball has an odd floaty mechanic, passing feels rigid and player control unrealistic. Shooting is forgiving, allowing you to score visually impressive goals with minimal skill. Dribbling is easy too because the ball seems to stick to the player rather than be its own entity" http://www.incgamers.com/Reviews/1095/pro-evolution-soccer-2011-review "The main problem is still the robotic nature of the gameplay. Player movement remains clunky and lacking any fluidity, gameplay still revolves around consistently working your way into certain areas and the ball continues to feel as though it’s magnetically fused to your boot while dribbling. The outcome is that it never feels organic, never managing to capture the essence or unpredictability of the beautiful game." etc etc Guess they all have an agenda too right? The reason I hadn’t commented in here since its release was because there was no need to. But you said my name like I have an agenda so it is time to bury you once and for all as I am tired of your snide remarks. You *****ed on the fifa thread about shirt numbers being wrong or having the wrong colour number etc. PES11 has not only last year’s kits in it but has months and month’s out of date squads. Where is the criticism for that hey? Oh right yeah I forgot, that is only for fifa....And when the update does come out it erases all your custom kits and still doesn't work properly on English consoles, where is the criticism of that? Oh right that is only for fifa. You love to design stuff in the game. You *****ed that some of the fifa models were bad. But if you play the PES11 your see that they models are fecking atrocious. The animations that go with them are just as bad. But where is the criticism for this on here? Oh right yeah that is for fifa. You *****ed on the other thread about the creation centre. But fifa's creation centre isn't designed to be used by pro's, it is designed to be used by everyone, it is pick up and simple, it doesn't have a billion options as you don't need to create any teams crests/shirts as they are in the game already...you ***** that the keepers shirts are not 100% right, but they are not even in PES11....where is the criticism for that? Oh right yeah that’s for fifa. You *****ed about fifa's servers saying "FIFA's servers die a hideous death as usual " but when PES11 released the servers were fooked and had massive lag, where is the criticism for that? Oh right yeah that’s just for fifa. You *****ed about the previous versions of fifa saying "FIFA08 with its backwards diving headers and crummy AI, or ANY of the utterly laughable button-bashing iterations between FIFA99 including FIFA07" but where are the criticisms for the previous PES' that even the die hard PES fans will say were awful? Where are the criticisms for them? Oh right it's just for fifa. Then soon as game is released you post constant posts saying "Have to say I'm pretty bored of it already", then "not impressed personally" then one of my favs "same story about players being basically interchangeable, within the parameters of trick levels". Where is the criticism for PES11 having copied the same trick system and simplifying it by making you able to pre-program 4 tricks so all you have to do is press one button and your pull off a snazy trick that on fifa actually requires a bit more then pressing one button? Oh right yeah that is just for fifa. I can go on and on. Anyone who reads what I have said over the past few years knows I don't normally retaliate, I don’t make it personal.. I let the insults go. But this time you know what, **** it. I have had enough of you little girls *****ing about everything and then throwing in sly little remarks. The truth is you ****s jerk off over PES and any bit of criticism goes against it and you go into attack mode. You can't handle the fact people now think the game sucks. Which it does. The reviews suck, it got lower scores then last year’s game, the sales suck. The game is a joke and if you honestly think that PES11 is a better representation of football then I feel bad for you. You say I have an agenda but you gimps do the same thing I do. You criticise one game and praise another. The difference between us is when one of you guy's slags off fifa I don't come in saying you have an agenda, I don't criticise or insult you for it. But when I say something negative in you come trying to be all defensive and throwing out the snide insults. And you say I have an agenda?! It is just a game...If you like PES then great, if you like Fifa then great. But if you want to insult me then say it to my face. Especially when you accuse me of something that you do far worse.
-
But it does stick to your feet....You can't lose the ball. I had the game and took it back to HMV yesterday as they were giving £30 trade in. If you have played the game you know you can't lose the ball. If i am wrong make a video and proove me wrong.
