team-saint

twice as fat as Stern John. Lambert was awesome Davis 6 nothing to do Murty 6 solid Harding 7 some good running and defensive play Thomas 8 won every header until Akinfenwa came on Lancashire 6 okay but a few dodgy headers James 8 Always looking to spread play and create openings before the game opened up and when it did he made some good chances Wotton 6 steady Morgan 7 some good passing and tackling Lallana 7 better than Millwall but still wasted at time on the left Paterson 6 ran around a bit when we didn't have the ball but didn't look hungry, no movement Lambert 9 strong, determined, skillful and was quality in the 1st half but fairly quiet 2nd half Subs: Rasiak 7 skillful never understood why people say he's so lazy or slow he's got flair Gobern 6 some good touches Thomson 6 one good run to the byline and cross needs more time in the team

I think as Saints fans we know how they will be feeling more than most.

What happens if Lambert is **** for us?

Saga is a finisher and he only got 3 good chances yesterday, one he missed and the other two he scored but were marginally offside. So really that's 1 chance. If you give him a free shot in the box then he will score but with no service what can he do. He ends up coming deep for the ball and gets marked by 3 fat lumps who are kicking him to pieces. If Lallana was in the middle he could have layed it off to him but there was never anyone there except Morgan sometimes.Strikers can be made to look really bad in a team with a poor midfield and so much of it is about the style that the team play. That's why so many strikers get 20 goals in a season once in their career but struggle for the rest of it. Matt Fryatt scored 2 in 30 games in 07-08 then 26 in 44 in 08-09. It was a lower division but that's still a big difference and the reason why was the team played in a way that suited him and he had Steve Howard alongside him. Very few strikers can make goals on their own and if we can get two widemen who will send crosses into the box and get Lallana to play in the hole behind the front two then Saga will score goals. And so will Paterson and Rasiak.

saw Leon outside Stadium before game

Just scored for Luton

Could be a good signing but we really need someone a bit older upfront as well if Raz and Saga leave

What planet are you on??

To be fair he is a decent jumper just not too tall.

JPS

Maybe he has signed and they just haven't told us?

Le Tiss was a lot skinnier then.

Personally I interepreted "It's not close to a decision time, there's a contract there and I don't see it being a problem" as meaning 'it's not close to a point where we have to say sign up or we'll go for someone else' not 'Murty is a long way from making a decision.'

We are in a lower division but if we want to get out of this division we need to be the best in this division and that means being Championship quality. If we just lower ourselves to league 1 quality then we'll end up in mid-table.

congratulations on starting the monthly Tim Sparv thread
