This is a good post and I agree wholeheartedly with the style of rhetoric. As you know, I am quite dim, so this type of argument works brilliantly for me. If someone has an opinion, I always find it handy to put them into a little box with people that share a similar opinion and label that box. It makes it easier for me to deal with the world. It helps me speak my beliefs without having to actually justify them, I can simply put them out there in opposition to the lefties/Cortese luvvies/gays/Muslims. And I use those terms pejoratively, of course. By setting up this opposition it neatly compartmentalises my world so that I don't actually have to take issues on their relative merits, they are merely the opposite of another, usually sinister, belief. Therefore, I win.

I agree with this. At the moment I pay £28 for a ticket. If they scrap this tax, then I'll probably end up paying £28 for a ticket. It's just so unfair and such a con.

Guernsey is a British Crown Dependency so there's no point trying to be racist/xenophobic about this, dune. Best save it for more deserving groups like the Muslims, Gypsies and the French.

Okay, I will level with you all. A few months ago, an American gentleman approached me with a suitcase full of cash and a simple idea. To create the first 'super-poster', right here on TSW. Months of planning went into the plan, as you might well imagine. A large community of IT Technicians, University Professors and International Comedians set up base at Los Alamos, some at gunpoint, to create the 'super-poster.' Long story short, this is how we ended up with Saint in Paradise. Can't help but think all that money might as well have been p*ssed away, in hindsight.

I know it's not entirely relevant to the actual story, but I must say that this an extremely odd statement and one that I would refute.

Are you suggesting that I should take the same approach to every post and thread and can't approach things how I see fit?
