I think we are talking at odds slightly, I was talking about setting targets for the team either as individuals, sections or as the team as a whole. You seem to be trying to predict the amount of goals that we will score which is slightly different.
-
10 more goals as a collective seems like a reasonable target, but the op was about setting targets for different sections of the team. An additional 10 goals would mean setting a target of 1 goal per outfield player over the course of the season, say 1 for the defenders, 2 for the DM, 3 for the AM and 4 for the forwards - does that seem reasonable?
-
You're probably right, it doesn't matter what a few guys on a forum think. Just out of interest, what targets, if any, would you set?
-
As Super_Saint and I explained, when you break it down the numbers are probably not that far away from the targets that the players themselves would expect at the start at the season. Not every player will realise their own targets, some will but most probably wont. As a group it's very unlikely.
-
As targets they seem reasonable. Especially in isolation, I expect that all the defenders would fancy their chances of chipping in with a couple of goals, midfielders 3 or 4, attacking midfielders 5-7 and the forwards would be aiming to get 30 between them. The likelihood of everyone hitting their target is remote but as targets they work.

You should be banned. If ghq continually posted **** then so should he. Fair enough you have a more grounded opinion of where Saints are and what you think that they will/might achieve compared to others, it's good to have both sides of the debate. But your dull repetition of your stock phrases, your sarcasm and insults do nothing to contribute to the forum. Rather than putting you on ignore I wish more people would contest what you say, and I'm glad to see that's what has happened recently as more people seem to have had enough of you dragging this place down.
-
What's with the sarcasm? Do you think it would only be the perception among primary school kids that would change?
-
I'm sure we could shoehorn him into the team somewhere! He'll fit into some fluid 4-2-3-1 formation.
-
Yeah, I think you're probably right. Maybe not tiny, given that he's been to both stadiums and of course we are now in the same league, but he still might make the judgement that Fulham were a bit bigger than Saints. It's the same for us as adults, we formed opinions of which were big clubs as kids and that stays with you to some extent.
-
No, and that's not my point. My son, who's 11, thinks that Wigan are bigger than Leeds. For him Wigan have always been a premiership club, plenty of publicity that goes with that, got to the Cup final. Leeds, however have been in the championship, not much exposure not much to sing about. So, for most kids his age and probably a good few years older, Wigan are the bigger club and, I expect if Wigan had been mixing it at the top of the table for ten years above the likes of Everton and Spurs then that perception that Wigan are bigger than Leeds would be even greater.
-
If we finish above Spurs and Everton every season for a decade there would be a whole generation of kids that would see Saints as "bigger" (whatever that means) than them. That's how perceptions could change. I don't think that sanity has anything to do with it.

Where's John Terry?

There are a few "characters" that contribute who are able to do it with out ****ing everyone else off, unfortunately there are more that are just trolling ****s intent on playing the big man. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Its easy - you need to get into a routine of being in calorie deficit, not too much though or you'll flake out. There are loads of calorie calculators out there to tell you what you need to do. As it happens I've lost about 2 stone this year 14st down to 12st, I did the Insanity program and loved it, got out of bed at 5.30 and straight at it for 2 months. The first day I ended up being sick, and by the end of it I was jumping about all over the place. Food intake is the key, if you can top it off by introducing some form of exercise then it takes the pressure of the food intake. You don't have to be anal about it either, after a couple of weeks you start to realise roughly how many calories you are taking in. Good luck.

I only knew it because I paid attention - that'll teach me! Oh well this is probably easy for all you stattos. Saints highest attendance at the Dell was against which team and what year?
-
It has to be one of these (from a prevoius question) - Arthur Dominy, Arthur Chadwick, Tom Parker, Bill Dodgin, Ted Bates, Ball, Nicholl, Gray, Wise.
-
I like that league, and it's winnable if we hit the ground running. Everton could be in transition, and Newcastle are never far away from imploding. I fancy our chances of matching or bettering Villa and Swansea this year so I think there's value at 11's. I think that West Brom will have a chance for some reason. I guess every team is thinking the same, but if we continue our progression we'll be looking good.

Should I accept Glasgow's friend request? Poll please.

I think you have to separate out the two events, it's obviously a great thing that Turkish' dad can get to St Mary's and the club seem to have acted, given the chance, as you would expect in this respect. However, plastering the story over social media, bad mouthing the club before it had been properly discussed, is a pretty **** thing to do. Almost if somebody was relishing the situation to try and make a point?
