I've just noticed that next month will see the tenth anniversary of Saints Web. It's still the only site I visit several times a day and most posters are knowledgable folk who have the best interests of the club at heart. Yes, some get a bit hot under the collar but overall it's the best place to come for news. So, how are we going to celebrate? Winning the Europa League would be a great way to kick off the summer, but I was thinking that a bit of a knees-up in a pub in November might be an idea... Suggestions below....

This throws up the possibility of having three players who can put in a solid shift at left back. Certainly early days, but we seem to be spoiled for choice there. Having seen the way Matt and Sam can push forward, could we use either as left side midfield? Puel won't want to change the shape of the side too much, but with the rotational system being used to good effect it's another option for him to consider. Happy days....

Used to be regulars at Staplewood with Mrs Saint when we lived in Southampton. We'd watch the kids most weekends and saw Bale, Walcott, Ox and many others haring up and down the wing just a couple of metres the other side of the rope. Would still go now if we lived closer. There was a surprisingly good atmosphere considering the relatively small crowd and it was rather quaint walking across to queue up for a cuppa served by tea ladies in white coats. We'd often chat to the lads after the game when they'd come back out to meet up with their mums.... As mentioned above, I have great memories of watching the reserves on a Saturday at the Dell. It seems a lifetime away now, getting the first team scores over the tannoy and cheering if Big Ron or Chivers had scored... Happy days....

I wasn't suggesting he should or shouldn't play any formation, just recalling that the club seemed to suggest there was one system for all teams, making it easier to progress through. I'm not the manager, as long as he gives us quality football, he can play whatever system he likes....!

I remember that last season there was talk that every team would be playing the same system, from the kids through to the PL. I'm sure it was during a Les Read interview. So if the U23's weren't playing the diamond, has that idea gone out the window or has CP decided decided to bin the diamond entirely? I have seen any games this season, so I'm only going on reports on here...

One easy solution that would not cost too much. Ply them with alcohol and once they're asleep, tattoo the Southampton crest on both cheeks of their ass. Try explaining that to your new team mates in the showers......

I think he's more effective playing through the middle. Merrington is always banging on about this being his most effective position......
