  1. It is. I know someone that has one. Me.
  2. Obviously eBay but the prices tend to be a little higher there unless you get lucky with a Buy it Now. That was a real bargain because itcame with a battery grip which is worth about £50 and it was in Eastleigh too. I got mine from here, which is a bit cheaper as people don't need to cover eBay and PayPal fees but they don't come up very often. Try Gumtree, but be careful as a high proportion of ads are clearly scams. Only deal with people face to face on here.
  3. I'm a great believer in buying second hand camera gear. I bought an old Canon EOS 300D with 18-55mm kit lens for my gf to play/practice for £125 and ended up taking it to Gran Canaria with us since I didn't want to take anything expensive and not that bothered about the picture quality. I would say that the image quality of this five year old DSLR matches or exceeds any current compact or bridge camera of a similar price.
  4. Fair enough. I'll have to investigate this site because we do occasionally send RMAs back and there's no rush on them.
  5. B Rabbit?
  6. It's quite a bit more than that for a decent courier and you need to be a regular business client to get the best price, but I take your point. I guess joe public would get charged closer to £15 for a one-off delivery by UPS, DHL, TNT etc. It might be a couple of quid cheaper by Interlink or Business Post. The overheads of the service must be negligible and it's more a case of how long you're prepared to wait for your item to be delivered because as you say, no one's going to accept your shipment if it's too far out of their way.
  7. I heard about this new idea on the radio. http://www.stuff2send.com/ Basically, people that have something that needs delivering, submit a request on the Website. People that are making journeys to that destination anyway contact them and deliver it for them door-to-door in return for some petrol money. Pretty neat idea but would you trust anything of any value to a total stranger? I know they have a feedback system, but everyone's going to have zero to begin with.
  8. Indeed, although I'd never even heard of it before. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=621083
  9. Is it just me or was it inconceivably complicated to do a batch resize in Photoshop? If you have MS Office, check to see if you have Picture Manager installed in Office Tools.
  10. Did Chorley's offer at the AGM get rejected then?
  11. You're an absolute nutter. You've picked those four ahead of Benny Hill?

  13. It's probably just a broken switch or bit of plastic which activates a switch. Why not return to your mother-in-law?

  15. Spend what I said on the tripod. It'll last you a lifetime. You should be able to get a second hand Canon EOS 350 with 18-55mm lens for £150-200. If you find yourself really enjoying it and wanting to get more out of it, then look at the wideangle lens I suggested which start from about £250.
  16. The usual question applies. What is your budget? Ideally, you want a decent tripod. Spend at about £100 on a brand like Manfrotto, Gitzo, Velbon or Slik; not a £25 Jessops special. If you want to take the DSLR route, an 18-55mm kit lens with either an entry-level Canon or Nikon body will do as good starting point. You may want to see how you get on with that before upgrading to a nice wide angled lens. The Sigma 10-20mm lens is available as a Canon, Nikon and Sigma mount. Alternatively, look at the Tamron 11-18mm which will fit Canon, Nikon and Minolta (which means it should fit Sony's Alpha range) or Tokina's 11-16mm and 12-24mm which will fit Canon and Nikon. Of course, Canon make their own 10-22mm and Nikon have 12-24mm. Then, you may want to consider a Cokin P-series filter which allows you to do all sorts of tricks such as cut back the sky's light so it's not over-exposed in relation to your landscape, simulate the colour from a sunset, polarise, diffuse.... So, how much have you got to spend?
  17. Then again... Video sample. Picking out starlight at 1/10s shutter speed. It's a bit special. Even at the now totally f***ed up exchange rate, the street price in Hong Kong is equivalent to £1700 and, purely by chance, I'm going there in April!
  18. The only time I found anything of enough interest to actually place an order, the company said it was out of stock due to the interest raised by it being on the HotUKDeals Website.

    Mystery?

I was going to say that. I can do the thing with my VW Touran. It is quite cool if one of your passengers opens a window without you noticing until you have walked away.
  23. Someone sent them a question that's been bugging me for years and they took a wild guess at an answer which is clearly wrong.
  24. Indeed, Robsk kk. :smt017
  25. Methinks the lady doth protest too much. Final fling and all that.
