7/10. I lost two on the consoles so they don't count as computers anyway.

Please don't buy it from CPC. Whichever one you choose, you can probably buy it for 10-15% less from most other online sellers.

Pets Corner (Kinda like show & tell)

Well we got them from the RSPCA and had to keep them indoors for about a month to settle and bond. After one evening the curtains were pretty much in the state shown in that picture and we thought what have we let ourselves in for, but now they're going outside they only climb the curtains when chasing after a fly. -

Still none after holding my full licence for over 15 years. I've never heard of speed cameras incorporated into those covering traffic lights. I'm sure you'll be fine. ("fine" as in "ok" as opposed to "penalty charge")

The Canon and Nikon brands are by far and away the most popular and established in terms of DSLR so you will find the lenses and accessories the easiest to get hold of, both in terms of buying and borrowing off mates. Being relative newcomers to the market, Sony are competitively priced to capture a market share and are able to incorporate newer technology in their range without having to worry too much about backward compatibility for an existing customer base. An example is the A200's anti-shake system built into the body which is an expensive add-on to Canon and Nikon lens. There is some compatibility issue with the D40 and some Nikon lenses due to it lacking certain auto-focus motors but being a Canon user I don't know the ins and outs. It may help if you give us a bit more information about what you want to use the camera for, your budget, if you plan to upgrade in the future, etc. New prices in are much cheaper in the States so second hand will be by the same degree. You're going to get a much better price buying privately but I doubt you're going to have the time to do that whilst you're out there. I wouldn't hold up much hope of getting any warranty if you're looking buying second hand and then taking it out of the country. I would just sit at home and look at buying from eBay.com (as opposed to eBay.co.uk) and find sellers that are prepared to ship to the UK unless you have an address in the US they can send stuff to. My brother used to live and work in Baltimore so I had two lenses sent there and got him to bring them back in his hand luggage.

Well it's a smooth enough operation, but there were hardly any cars there. Maybe 50, maybe 100; I wasn't paying that much attention, but certainly nowhere near their full capacity. By the time we got back, half of the cars had already left. There were no queues and we were on the M6 in about a minute. It was a lot further than I expected. To give you an idea of how far, an equivalent distance here would be Bitterne train station to SMS. On the way, we passed another car park and I'd probably choose this one if I were to go again simply because you don't have to cross the busy roundabout.

We have an account with Direktek and their/our prices for Canon equipment are more expensive than I can buy online or through eBay. As we've seen in the 5D MkII thread, overseas is where you should be getting your camera equipment from.

It was nothing to do with being too heavy; it was the uneven distribution of weight within the plane. Given that the event happened more than three years ago, I presume the story has more to do with publicity for the "popular slimming club".

It shouldn't be that surprising if you're going to keep setting yourself up like that.

Looks good. I've paid up and I'll let you all know how I get on for future reference.

You definitely can't. Otherwise everyone would buy Home edition because it's at least £20 cheaper. Unless you need to connect to a domain, you won't notice much difference between the two versions anyway. I take it the Home edition she bought was a full retail boxed version because Microsoft won't give support to an OEM copy anyway?

Wow! Even I didn't realise you caused that much of a tailback.

Everyone who was on the M40 behind you?

That doesn't mean jack-sh*t. My girlfriend has a 2.1 in Law from Southampton Uni and I trounce her when we watch University Challenge. 130-25 last time we scored it.
