  1. Lowe was well up for selling James Beattie to Palace in 2004. It's all in Simon Jordan's book, basically he rings up Lowe going £1.5m, Lowe goes OK. Lowe changes his mind, says £2m, Jordan says ok. Lowe changes his mind, says £2.5m, Jordan says ok. Lowe Changes his mind says £3m and he's yours, Jordan says ok. Lowe changes his mind, says £3.5m, Jordan says f_uck off. Worrying that Lowe was prepared to sell one of our best players at that time for a measly fee of £3.5million!!
  2. The Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and the Bundesliga are equally responsible from monetising football. Like it or not the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, and a place where every player regardless of nationality would love to play it in at some point of his career. Saints belong in the Premier League, and after 7 long, hard, devastating years outside the top-flight I'm incredibly proud that my football club had the guile, ambition and endeavour to get back there last season. That's what the PL patches represent to me, the endeavour, struggle and effort the players put in last year to be able to put those PL patches on their arm. I do the same because I'm so proud of where my club has come from in 3 short years since Markus took us over.
  3. Alot of Saints fans (myself included) are extremely proud to be back in the PL. So the PL patches are a way of showing the world that we're now Premier League and proud of it.
  4. Two Words. John Bostock. Was a promising player for Palace years ago, had his head turned by his agent and Spurs, and in 5 years made 3 appearances for Spurs' 1st team, ridiculous waste of talent. Unfortunately these days clubs like Chelsea/City/Arsenal come in, offer £20-35,000 a week wages + a sign on bonus of £2million + £4-10million for the parent club and thats it, he's off. No matter how loyal a player is, an agent will turn his head to make a quick buck for himself, and it seems Chelsea, Arsenal etc. are all likely destinations. Have to say my gut feeling is this is BS, and even if it's true he won't leave us at the moment. If we go down he'll definitely go I would imagine.
  5. I don't mind plastics buying season tickets as it's putting more money in the clubs' coffers which is always good. But I will get extremely annoyed if any of them are sitting around me not knowing the team atall, not caring about the match, on their phones the whole match etc.
  6. I'll buy it.
  7. Do you get email confirmation with phone purchases, or only online purchases?
  8. Got mine on the phone earlier, and haven't got a confirmation email yet. I have a confirmation number though.
  9. Ta.
  10. Umbro sizes are on the smaller side, not quite Kappa, but not exactly big either.
  11. Just an idea. All New ST Holders, Renewal ST Holders list where they sit in the stadium for fellow Saints Web forum members to know roughly where they are sitting. Obviously you don't have to be too specific if you don't want to, just Northam, Block 41|Block 41|Block 35, Row H etc. I'll post where you're sitting in this first post so we can keep a database of sorts of where all the New STs/Renewal STs this season are sitting. I'll go first. Block 9, Row J Durleyfos Block 5, Row H Jack Block 42, Row AA Raging Bull Block 7, Row L fromthedell Block 40, Row W WHITEE1987 Block 30, Row GG Ian the Red Block 4, Row AA thornhill_saints Block 41, Row G saints_is_the_south Block 36, Row OO Saint Donovan Block 34, Row DD
  12. Absolutely shocking from Saints. Managed to get through 5 minutes ago though, Block 9 Itchen!
  13. Just got in on the website, but there's no link to buy new, only renew
  14. Just rang the number provided by Saint Charlie and was told the system has crashed, and to ring back in an hour.
  15. Ticket office isn't open for new ST sales. It's just phone or online at the moment.
  16. You can't please everyone, there'd always be some section of annoyed fans out there. Gecko_Saint even designed the shirts for the 06/07 season ages ago and alot of people thought they were ****e too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't when it comes to any football fan with her/his selected club. Some like traditional colours, some like the club to try something new etc.
  17. Would love to do it, but my b_ollocks go numb after 10 minutes in the gym, let alone 3/4/5 hours to Brighton!
  18. There's no way of proving how many were at West Quay today, I asked the bouncer/steward/queue attendent and he said that there'd been 'At Least 750 people in the queue so far' that was at 1:15pm, there was another 3 hours 45 minutes until close to go so I estimated that if those numbers kept up then there'd be between 1000-3000 people. Others have asked stewards/bouncers/queue attendents and were told lower/higher amounts so there's no way of proving how many people in the queue. All I meant was the 776 forum members that voted on here is a good sample. There's a slight majority of 50.82% that hate it and 49.18% who either don't care or like it/love it. So a very marmite kit.
  19. You could say the same thing about the people that have voted 'No' on the poll on this very thread. Lemmings? Blind Anti-Establishmentism? Jealous of people that have money? Can't be bothered to get out of the house on a cloudy Sunday? People who shop at Wilkinsons? Myopic? The kit looks great full stop. Stoke/Sheffield United/Exeter/Sunderland-look-alikes, and if you are happy with that...?
  20. On the evidence of this forum 50% don't like it sure. But then 1000-3000 people turned up today to buy the kit from West Quay (300-1300 more than the people that have voted on this thread)....all who thought the kit was nice otherwise they wouldn't have bought it. Therefore, the majority of fans actually like it...
  21. 2008-10 First Umbro home shirt, 10/11 Sash, 11/12, and 12/13 PL Home shirt. Yes you're right! £12 for shirt printing (any name and number), £6 for a pair of Prem badges.
