Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
BlakeySFC replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Fee agreed according to @Saint_Elvis on twitter. His words: 'Those asking source etc. agent of player, deal should be sealed by friday midday.' This isn't a known twitter bulls**tter so there may be some legs in this... -
Would be chuffed if we pull this off, but can't help thinking WE NEED CENTRE BACKS

Don't expect us to make any signings until at least after the City game now Have a feeling we won't sign anymore this window though.... -
I'd like to nominate myself

There's already a thread for this topic. But I got mine two weeks ago.

Ignore Bleacher Report, its written by a load of Americans that know as much as a slug about the intricacies of English football.

I'm going for 4-0 City, if we get a draw or anything more out of the game it'll be nothing less than a miracle

Blackpool report Saints over Phillips approach
BlakeySFC replied to SuperMikey's topic in The Saints
Maybe there was more substance in the Daily Mail article than I thought, surprising. Still a poorly written article in my opinion. This forum probably makes up 25% of the Southampton area's Daily Mail readership so I didn't expect anyone to take my reservations of the Daily Mail's 'well-respected' sources seriously. -
HUGE over-reaction from this forum. It's only a friendly, I wasn't there so can't say how well/poorly we played, but it's just a training match to try things out and to get the players more match fitness for the upcoming season. Honestly not fussed atall by the result, there's only 4/5 teams in the Prem that are of Udinese's quality. Not expecting us to beat City (don't think anyone really is) but I'm confident we'll play well enough to beat Wigan on the 25th.

Blackpool report Saints over Phillips approach

Probably, particularly when there is no evidence in the article that it is us in the form of a direct quote, that the Mail are the only news outlet that are reporting it's us and with the Daily Fail's record of totally ridiculous non-sensical sensationalist articles. With a paper famous for headlines such as 'EATING NOODLES CAN CAUSE CANCER' I pretty much disregard anything the Mail publishes. -

Another bulls**t article from the Daily Fail, no where in that article or the interview in question does it say it's us that has tapped up Phillips, it could be any PL club, they've just decided (in their infinite wisdom) to put our name to the headline of the article to attract attention. The Mail have just made up the 'fact' that it's us...it could be any PL club. -
Even if you forget the fact it's Pompey, it's still utterly ridiculous how a City Council would loan a Football club £1.5million in the middle of a recession and with as many social and economic problems the City of Portsmouth has. £1.5million spent on football rather than improving people's lives in the city through health/social/welfare care/needs, Instead £1.5million is being given so 15,000 of the 'bestest supporters in the world' can indulge their hobby at their s**t-hole of a stadium every other week! I'm absolutely baffled by this decision, absolutely shocking. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
BlakeySFC replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
Been trying not to be negative this past 2 weeks and just forward to the City game in less than 2 weeks time... But as it gets closer to the first game and we still haven't signed the 2 CBs, 1 LMF/LB and 1 RMF we need I'm getting a little blaze at our prospects for next season. Obviously we don't need these players in by the 19th as that's just the first game but I would hope we have the two CB's in AT LEAST by the time we play Wigan on the 25th. For me its imperative we get the players in that we need this season. We've done well in my opinion so far in the Window bringing in great new additions in Clyne, Davis, Gazzaniga and Rodriguez but we didn't invest in the Centre-Back department until the final day of the window last season and payed the price for the injuries/loss of form in October/November and January. It's obviously MUCH more important that we get in the players in we need for this season than it turned out last season. I said the same last season and I said we'd struggle to stay up (let alone come 2nd in the league) with the small amount of additions we made, obviously I was totally wrong then. But I believe in the Prem you need that squad strength in depth, if Fonte and Hooiveld get injured (I have my doubts whether Fonte will be any good in the Prem anyway) then who do we have at CB? Stephens? And that's it, we could recall Martin if it came to it I suppose but he's hardly a quality Prem Standard proven CB is he? Very apprehensive at the moment, obviously there's still 28 days left until the end of the transfer window, but I think if we don't have two new CB's at the very least in by the 31st August we will go down. -
Just completed Week 1 of my own training schedule. Did 2.2 miles on Monday and 2.2 miles on Tuesday. 3 miles on Wednesday and Thursday and 5.7 miles on Friday. Then today I rounded off the week with a 13.8 mile ride Going well so far, didn't even feel knackered today after my ride so I think that's a good sign for the weeks to come

There is no rivalry as far as I'm concerned, not a huge fan of Brighton fans, but then again I'm not a huge fan of Reading, Bournemouth, Man United, QPR and West Ham fans.
