I agree with CrazyDiamond that bombarding a players personal facebook account is pretty sad. However I think it's wrong to say everyone on twitter tweets constantly to journalists/players etc. about signings and that they're all odd is a sweeping generalisation. From my experiences with other Saints fans on twitter, I would say about 80-90% seem really decent down to earth people that share their real problems, saints related activities etc. with fellow saints fans and the twitterverse. The other 10-20% are still alright people but just get desperate when it comes to saints signings etc. and are usually a bit younger of age (15-18 ), you get a few nutters in all walks of life. I think it's pretty desperate to continually hound journalists/players etc. too but it's only a small proportion of the Saints fans on twitter that do that. They're not bad people at all, they are just a bit more impatient than the average Saints fan. I honestly think out of the 2,000 people I follow I know of only 10 that regularly pester players/journalists for information. I personally think Twitter is an amazing tool, which enables you to get a closer view of what goes on in a footballers life rather than this vague idea that they all have herociously hot birds, live in a mansion somewhere and go out on the lash alot. Twitter allows these people to get a closer insight into the world of football, and some people take that too far, but 80-90% of Saints fans on twitter are just regular people that like the closer insight into football that Twitter allows.

Probably not even worth mentioning, but my Chelsea supporting Plummer just said he'd heard a rumour we're signing Soloman Kalou -
It was Waj from Four Lions. 'Rubber Dinghy Rapids mate!'

Been to Malia, Magaluf, Tenerife and Zante in the last 4 years. Malia - Quality Magaluf - Good, but a bit seedy. Tenerife - Amazing, quite low key and not many outright clubs, but has a great vibe on the strip Zante - Rundown shi_thole, left after 3 days.

Always apply in the general ballot every year and never got tickets. Going to join the LTA for 2013 as it will give me more of a chance of getting my hands on some.

I do that. Can't drink normal coke, it makes my teeth overly sensitive for 2-3 days afterwards because of the herocious amount of sugar in it. Hardly have any fast food, but when I do it's probably about once every couple of months.

I was browsing historicalkits.co.uk the other night (as you do) and noticed between 1977 and 1979 Exeter had one all white (with red bits) strip and between 1979-1980 they had one all red strip (with white bits) including red shorts and socks. So we're not the first team to ditch our traditional Red and White stripes anyway. For the record this only lasted until 1980, then they went back to standard Red and White Stripes with Black shorts and red/black socks.

It's just lazy, they've just copy and pasted a few choice statements from some posters on this thread and the official saints site. Tack on a boring headline, two copy and pasted images of Rickie in the 2011/12 and 2012/13 kits and make up a two sentence summary and you've got your article.

Typically s_hit article as always from the Daily Fail. I could've written that article myself, what absolutely s_hite journalism.

Just a gut feeling, there's not much transfer activity apart from the Buttner bloke and that is looking increasingly unlikely, so I reckon 1st-5th August for the 2nd signing. -
Yeh I think I'm getting mixed up on dates. It was while Hoddle was in charge, so must've been the 2000-01 season. Yeh Lowe probably would've changed his mind again, and kept putting the price upto something he deemed 'worthy' but we'll never know. This is the exact quote from the book: 'Attempted to sign James Beattie from Southampton, accepted an offer for £1.5m, but then Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe got involved. He wanted £2m. I told him that we had already agreed a price with Hoddle and Lowe told me that Glenn had changed his mind...so I offered £2m, but then Lowe wanted £2.5m so I made that offer. He hiked it up to £3m, and once again I offered what he asked for and then he came back with £3.5m. That was it as far as I was concerned'

Gonna go out on a limb here and say we won't sign anyone in July. 2nd signing will be start of August I reckon. -
Safe, 17-18k so far (considering it's only the 4th July tomorrow) is pretty damn good I reckon.
-
How many did we have last season? 22k?
-
Thought the club charged me double the admin fee yesterday. But recalculated today and realised they've charged me the renewal price + the admin fee, so saved myself £45 at least!

David Gold and David Sullivan are complete and total arrogant, smarmy, c_unty w_ankers.

Yeh Hoddle wanted him out more than Lowe, and did negotiate it upto £3.5million but I have to wonder if Jordan hadn't got annoyed with Lowe's constant meandering whether we would've let Beats go for £3.5-£4million.
