Lambert Fonte Hammond Seabourne
-
Must agree with your analysis
-
See Glasgow Saints Post

Then £3m will become £6m and if we get promoted I may well help Pat from Poole eat his garage if he has not finished by then
-
Might save on the NI contributions and other overheads

We need an 'old head' in midfield who can provide a link to the strikers

Yes very true whilst watching the game against Luton I was constantly thinking was that Hammond or was that Schneiderlin -
In time I agree completely but Pardew keeps changing the team and the way it plays no wonder we are not performing consistently well. I am not saying we are poor probably better than good but we need to be excellant which is currently not the case

Can we be truly successful with Morgan AND Lallana

Yes I agree but pace with skill -
Of course money mean something but playing well means more
-
Perhaps they should tell the players as the dont seem to be performing like a promotion winning side

But why is the team constantly changing ? I dont know what our best formation really is -
I just think it takes time for a team to evolve and Fonte was available at a reasonable price . I think if Ward had signed as well that might have shown more intent. But do you think the play offs are achievable at the moment and that does not mean we will get promoted either
-
These are off the cuff remarks really not a clear statement of intent. So if we dont get to the play offs is the plan a year behind?
-
It maybe pretty obvious to you but it is your opinion the point I am making is that we dont really know what the club deems success. If we knew we could be less impatient although I did and do not expect us to be in the play offs this season because of the form of the other teams

I dont think people are blaming players but expecting them to perform slightly better if we are to get out of League 1 -

Thanks but a draw was a reasonable result I think and if the game had finished 0 0 even better -
I dont think we are playing well but results are pretty good overall after the first month or so. However I think the club should have explained better how the Five Year Plan was to work we would be in a better position to comment realistically on progress. If the aim this season was to consolidate in the top ten of the League because of the points reduction and do well in the JPT then I think progress would have have been good but with no real statement of intent and thoughts of getting to the play offs the waters appear to have been muddied especially with NC's comments at Charlton. I am quite happy with progress but we do need some new creative players in midfield if we are to challenge next season.

Yes I agree but I think a draw against Millwall away is a good result where as they have only lost one game this season

I must admit I agree with you I thought the result against Millwall was OK and what could be expected just a bit disappointing we conceded in the last seconds. Unfortunately the forum is to discuss things and I just feel Lallana is overhyped and for a supposed talent should be affecting games more. Nothing sinister but I dont think we are playing well and the playoffs are unrealistic as the top teams are playing well -
I have never really thought Pardew was going to be a manager to make SFC a top class team but that does not mean I am right and he should be given every oppurtunity to show I am wrong. There is absolutely no reason why he should not be allowed to build his team and get us out of League 1 but having a Five Year plan puts extra pressure on him . I still dont think it is a plan but an aim because with a plan you can put resources in to achieve it with football there are so many things which cannot really be controlled like injuries suspensions referees decisions goal line clearances un believable misses etc

Perhaps you could explain why you disagree with my post instead of saying rubbish. There does seem to be a lot of hype regarding Lallana who obviously is extremely gifted and talented. If he is as gifted and talented as is suggested he should be putting in more match winning performances than he has done recently especially in League 1. We have had lots of young players in the past Tery Paine John Sydenham Martin Chivers Steve Steve Moran Williams MLT etc who were talented and performed well winning games for the Saints. To gain promotion our top players need to perform week in week out that is what happened in 1966 and 1978 -
No I dont think so a bit of reality clicking in. After weeks of we are certs for the play offs and the best team in the League etc finally most now realise that it wont happen

Once we got Fonte I thought our Priority should have been a CM
