What is the point of what?
-
Pardew has only been here four days so give him a chance You know the team better than him he is trying to work out which positions he needs new players for
-
What is the point of being ambitious if there is little substance behind the ambition. Every supporter want their team to succeed but most realise it wont happen on a regular basis
-
Fans want instant succes there is some poster from Bournemouth on another thread complaining that Pardew is too slow in sorting out the team. Pardew has been here how long four days perhaps?
-
You do seem to be a little impatient I suggest that you relax and let Alan Pardew deliver the goods.
-
Fast is not always the best approach. We have not lost all our warm up matches when the first team have been playing. In fact it has only been in the last quarter when reserve team players have been involved that we have lost some of the matches
-
It was a crap footballing strategy but possibly not a crap financial one. The current strategy is based entirely on football and it is up to Pardew to make it work. If he had been here a month earlier I am sure we would be in a better position with a number of new players in place with the team in a more confident state of mind.
-
Yes a strategy based on saving money nothing to do with football
-
My take is slightly different JP was brought in because we could not afford to increase the wage bill and had experience of running teams with younger players. He would never have been employed as a convential CCC Manager. MW after Xmas saw the strategy was not working but it is not worth discussing any further as Pardew is here and seems to be doing a good job.
-
Just feel a bit sorry for JP and MW because they we on a hiding to nothing and seemed to be honourable men.
-
I dont think that is fair. The whole object last season was to reduce the wage bill and try and keep out of administration. JP and MW were thought to be the best to achieve this strategy. If we were not in such a bad financial situation the strategy would not have been adopted
-
Well that is not a surprise was it
-
Sometimes I used to listen in the car What annoyed me most that in a half an hour programme there would only be ten minutes of interest the rest was adverts etc
-
I dont think that we be the case we have already lost Saejis Surman Euell Skacel McGoldrick from last season. Probably another two will go so the Squad will be roughly the same size
-
So easy to say without the responsibility of balancing the books. Today we are so lucky a free stadium and a wealthy backer someting we could have only dreamed of five years ago
-
He is working hard at the moment and is confident of success http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4510368.Much_phoning__not_enough_training_ground_for_Saints_boss/
-
I agree if they are equivilent but I was expecting to buy better players
-
It is a shame that we did not give a trial to some of the players we have played over recent years before buying them. Giving players trials seems a good idea as fitness levels can be checked
-
But there are also loads of players Like Kaka and Ronaldo who can be bought on the transfer market
-
If you read Pardew's Comments he is Looking for Bosmans with priority as there are bargains to be found and putting feelers out for loans and other players. A pretty good approach I would have thought but we need to be patient
-
I dont think Pardew has said anything about where we may finish this season. With the -10 deduction and a new team he expects to be mid table by Christmas. Which seems realistic and if we are there and playing well investment may be available to push us on to higher things
-
Exactly he appears to be doing everything as I would have expected from an experienced manager. It is shame he did not arrive a month earlier as I think we would be in such a better shape but that is in the past
-
Yes you are so right no Stadium and an extremely wealthy backer so different from previous regimes
-
I think we should let Pardew get on with rebuilding the team in a professional way. It is going to take time probably but with SFC having no debt no shareholders and a united fanbase it should happen sooner than later
-
Yes very Impressive Stadium saw a Pre Season Friendly v Ajax years and years ago I think the capacity was over 100000 at the time
