I thought the whole idea was to get people in so as to get money to in order for us to survive. Being unpleasant to people who for their own reasons want to leave early will probably mean that they will not return which means less revenue and ultimately less success.
-
Yes I think you are right it would not be easy running SFC in the current environment
-
I thought the original decision not to replace Burley was reasonable at the time I never thought the side would play so bad after he left nor did Crouch or Lawrie Mac
-
It surely depends if we have points reduced. Administration usually means a points reduction and relegation If we stay in the Championship then administration is a good thing but that was the reason the points reduction was introduced to stop clubs spending when they had no money

Although I feel pretty optimistic at the moment however optimism was high when Wilde took over but that led to complete disaster.
-
Just a rational statement I would have thought
-
Well I never at last a sensible post
-
I dont think it is no one persons fault - players directors coaching staff possibly fans have assisted in the demise but it may not have happened if Wilde had taken over. But his idea of needing investment was quite correct I would have thought so we would probably be on the slipery slope even if Wilde had not taken over

From a Neutral on another Website Rupert Lowe is right to blame Barclays! Barclays Bank, like all other banks, have been guilty of irresponsible over - lending for years; hence the mess we are all in at present. But again like all banks, they will only provide you with an umbrella when the sun is shining! Although Rupert Lowe is carrying the blame for Saints' decline, the financial missmanagement mainly occured during his two years absense. If Saints avoid a ten point deduction, they will have Rupert lowe to thank! The fundimental, underlying, problem is caused by the greed of the big Premiership clubs, causing a huge disparity in income between the Premiership and the rest of the league. Saints are by no means the first club affected, neither will they be the last! - Mike Allen, Poole Dorset UK

Two interesting quotes on the Original Web Page from neutrals Southampton FC won.t be missed, their so0called fans have a disastrous hooligan record, that the league are rightly ashamed of - keith price, Luton, England Rupert Lowe is right to blame Barclays! So, how much does somebody have to stump up ??
John B replied to Smirking_Saint's topic in The Saints
It is not just clearing the debt it is about making expenditure roughly equal income And what if we got relegated?. It certainly is going to be difficult to get a buyer I would have thought before they know what league we will be playing next season -
Yes I would have thought the average attendance may increase significantly if we were still in the championship but surely only if we were a better team with better players which cost more. It is easier to attend St Mary's on a nice Spring Day in April but not so easy on a wet Tuesday in November so I estimate an extra £1.5 million in income What happens with the Academy?
-
Yes beggars cant be chosers. We just need SFC to continue
-
Even if there was no overdraft We would have difficulty surviving in the Championship , paying off the last years of the outstanding high wage earners contracts somehow paying rent or Mortgage on the Stadium and bringing in better players without a significant amount of capital. And what if we got relegated?. It certainly is going to be difficult to get a buyer I would have thought before they know what league we will be playing next season

When the Saints went Marching Out
-
Yes I know I was just trying to look on the bright side.
-
Sorry I dont understand what you are saying I thought SLH was selling SFC to reduce the debts
-
Yes I agree But not many clubs go into oblivion
-
Although Wilde is seriously to blame for the situation the club is in he did try to resolve it but the reason he failed was the bank gave in. With the Credit Crunch and the fact we could not sell players it is no surprise what happened. In retrospect Hone etc did warn that the situation was dire before he resigned but SISU has been the only firm offer received. I hope I am wrong but I seriously worry about the future of SFC because who is going to buy it?
-
A lot is in the past and always will be. But I am interested as SISU seems to be the only Investment ever offered or was it not real
-
Few people thought the SISU deal was good at the time. But in hindsight would we be in a better position now and would the shareholders still have some equity. Perhaps it may have been the worse decision taken with regards to SFC Could sopmebody enlighten me

Burley will today be grilled by Scottish FA bosses on his decision to allow players to drink three days before the crucial World Cup qualifier against Iceland. Well I never
