Who knows but I think my scenario is better than yours. Selling players is only possible if someone wants to buy them Selling season tickets when administration and relegation is on the cards is not very honest.

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?
John B replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
Surely there is a possible explanation that Crouch could be playing games to make himself look good to the fans knowing full well that Lowe and Wilde could not raise £2 million -

I dont think any of the shareholders like it as SISU were going to dilute their holdings I think. In retrospect they may have wished they had agreed to SISU as their shares are well and truly diluted now With regard to Crouch's investors he was saying that investment was round the corner this time last year well after Wilde's fantasies -

Yes a very interesting question as I always felt that Crouch was expecting investment any moment but from whom? -
Has Wotte finally been to one Amsterdam coffee shop too many ?

What like Alpine you mean -
I may try that tactic in future it is probably better than my current tactic of being abusive to Tory people

I once met Harold Macmillan in Basingstoke

Depends what the offer was.

Yes you are right but why would Swansea buy him as they had him on loan It is easy to say sell but not if there is no one to buy at at a sensible price...

I thought Crouch would helped us to avoid administration but in the end he did not. Barclay's did suggest there were problems with the main shareholders if I recall -
Surely you are being a little critical with the help of hindsight. If an agreement with Barclays was made for £5 Million overdraft when Lowe/Wilde took over it would be very difficult to reduce the overdraft in October when the Transfer window had closed. The problem was compounded by the inability to raise any money from Transfer sales which I think Lowe was aware of as he hinted that the cupboard was bare I would have thought it was very unlikely that administration could be avoided after Barclay's had moved the goal post apparently in October. If the overdraft facilities had not changed we currently may not be in administration

Fulham may have paid them more I dont know but surely it was not a foregone conclusion that would come as their wage demands may have caused serious problems within the Squad. To non Saint's Fans it was unlikely that the club would be in Europe regularly as it was our first venture in over twenty years

There are a couple of points I would like to raise in this debate. Firstly I think spending money on the Academy was a good idea as one of the reasons we had to buy lots of second rate players was that Apart from Bridge none of our home produced players were coming through like they were in the past are were perceived as likely to be more loyal. The second point is how do we know Saha and Malbranque wanted to come to SFC anyway and how were their wages to be paid
-
Surely then the football club will be in administration too if we dont get somebody to buy
-
I think you are quite correct Rover Alpine appears to be a complete and utter whinger
-
You would have thought so but as I said I doubt there is any planning for next season because that would probably inter with parties currently bidding They know we have no income from ticket sales so they will be making an estimate on how many they will sell Anyway if we get any money in it will be used to pay off ciurrent debts or Euells wages
-
You seem to forget that nobody is really running the club The administrators are just trying to py off the debts not planning for next season
-
I think the main stumbling block is the price to be charged
-
Yes I think that pretty well sums up the situation unfortunately
-
So what would you have done as I agree with your analysis. He may have been hoping to sell in the January Window but may not have got any offers
-
I think it was a lost cause when we were unable to sell off our top earners to reduce the debt Also the wrong tactics were employed for home games
-
I dont think it is a fact just your analysis not based on facts. It was obvious we had to sell players but probably no one wanted to buy them at reasonable prices Getting in good loan strikers at low wages I would have thought was very difficult
-
Yes it is called the perks of the job
-
Sell Players at knock down prices? Dyer When does the window start.

Give a thought to the Office Staff at St Mary's they cannot be very happy worry about whether they are going to get paid
